In Norway we have the Allemansretten, that means that you can camp in an suitable place for until 2 days. If it’s privat property and you don’t see any houses, cabins etc you are free to camp. If there is a private property just ask the owner if you can camp at the end of his farmland or field if the crops are taken in. If there are houses, cabins around you have to stay 150 meters away. off-roading are forbidden even on timber roads. But those roads on you films are legal if you don’t see any signs or barrier. South of Norway and North of Norway are there some differences but for that it’s nice to get in touch with a local or two. Great films and thanks
Cheers Andreas! The Allemansretten is truly a great privilege, we have nothing like that in England but Scotland has the 2003 Land Reform Act which gives you the right to wild camp under similar conditions as the Allemansretten. I was hoping to return to Norway this year but unfortunately those plans have been cancelled due to the current virus situation. Next year maybe, it's a great country, one of the finest in the world I'm sure 👍.
Overland and Outdoors you’re more than welcome back. I really like that one comment on the plastic garbage around you, when you say you looked more Norwegian than an Norwegian. You behave better and thanks for bringing out the mess that the hunters or others left behind. Truly a good example to follow. And the north and the midnight sun awaits you
Wow..great adventure guys.. Norway and Sweden are on the bucket list.for the future..got to be done.. Love the video it's just awesome..going to watch part 2..😀😀👍👍
Great to see you guys again, loved part 1 and looking forward to part 2. Very professionally presented, well done and keep up the fantastic work and trips.
Looks like a great trip for you guys love the content and music as usual. We had a motorcycle tour a few years ago up to Trondheim then followed the Atlantic high way and coast back down camping as we went. Vastly overestimated how far we would get in the time we had!! So decided to just take our time and soak up the beauty. Huge mountains straight out of the fiords. Just like west Scotland on steroids!! Thanks for jogging the memory 🥶🥃
Cheers Stephen! That must've been a great trip, I'd love to take the motorbike up to Norway, the roads are mind blowing! I know what you mean, I drove up to Trondheim in 2016 and it took forever.
Love the outdoor shots for scene changes and location switching, time lapse also great at the end with moon, really enjoying your videos, well presented and good genuine deliverance. Regards James
Interesting video and fascinating scenery as always. All credit to you both camping in those low temperatures too - I've got Scotland coming up at the end of the year and starting to look for warm gear as the older i get the less resilient i am to the cold. Ps. I've only just noticed the channel name change.....
Cheers Mark! My top tip is hot water bottles, makes a hell of a difference getting into bed, they don't help much getting out of bed though. I found that putting your clothes into your bed/sleeping bag about 20 mins before you intend to get up also makes getting changed in the morning a bit more comfortable. The ultimate solution is those diesel heaters everyone is using these days, I'll give it a few years then I think I'll get one 👍. Are you doing the NC500?
@@Adventure-Outdoors - Great top about the clothes and getting dressed in the morning and funny enough my daughter brought me a hot water bottle for my birthday just the other week. I have a night heater I'm contemplating taking if I use a ground tent rather than car camping. This is a situation where I think a good tent is idea. Yes, we are doing the nc500 - travelling up the day after boxing day - no set plan other than starting on the west coast and seeing how far we go - not to bothered about the east coast as I've done that a couple of times before
Thanks for the video 👍 Norway is so beautiful, but as you mentioned a little difficult to leave the main road. Sweden is much easier to access the forest road but not in near as beautiful as the fjords an mountains in Norway. Norway is very interesting to visit in the winter if you like snow, maybe a little cold for wild camping in the winter. In the summer it’s very good for motorcycle camping all the best // Jonas
Great video. We travelled in May this year from The Netherlands to Norway. What a beautiful country and we go definitely back there in 2020. I see you use a Partner Steel Stove, where can you buy them in Europe ?
Thanks! Yes it's such a fantastic country. I had to buy the Cook Partner from the USA, I couldn't find a European retailer. The stoves are pretty good value until you add the postage costs but hopefully it should last a lifetime.
Yaiii, my favorite overland channel, driving my favorite truck, coming from one of my favorite travel regions, just made my day. Compliments again on the videowork, one can almost smell the crisp fragrant cold air. Cold and damp you have to accept up there. Having the right mindset plus gear, and you're going to have a great time. Have you considered to add a diesel-hotair heater to your gear for northern-and wintertrips? You can fit a whole setup into a similar aluminium box, you have on your roofrack. They go by the name of Planar-2D, there' lots of videos on youtube👍 Can't wait for part 2🙂 Cheers from switzerland
Cheers, much appreciated 👍 Yes I've recently discovered the Planar-2D, there's a chap I follow on Instagram who was up in Sweden at the same time, they went much further north (-22 conditions) and he used one in an Oz tent. I reckon I'll look into getting one for next time for sure!
@@Adventure-Outdoors It makes 4 Seasoncamping really a pleasure. And they run on only 0.1 Liters of Diesel putting out 800 Watts of heat. Do you have a dual battery system fitted in your Hilux?
@@waytogo2791 Yeah I've got a leisure battery in the back that's powered by a 100w solar panel, it pretty much only runs the fridge and charges camera/phone batteries etc. I'll definitely look into them I think for next winter 👍
@@Adventure-Outdoors Well, in my book, your setup is very well thought out. Hope you don't mind me, having a "very close" look at your kitchencase, cause I see there is a potential project for me. Or, even better, make a review of it🤗, much obliged😉😊 cheers
Excellent vid was waiting for your next adventure I made up a webasto in a wolf box complete with fuel so I can move it around Pipe it in to my roof tent works great and tent stays warm and dry All my best to both of you
Cheers Zak! I think a diesel heater is what I need, the webasto looks like a good option. I bought the fire pit from www.drifta.eu I uploaded a review of it last week 👍
Great video guys. Living the dream. I have the same rsi canopy on my truck but it condensates in the winter here in north yorkshire. Do you have yours insulated in any way?
Cheers Jonathon! I live in North Yorkshire and last year I did have some real problems with condensation in the RSI, but last winter was the first time it happened for some reason? The other 4 years were condensation free. On this trip I had no issues at all with condensation in the canopy so I'm guessing we must've had some really mild days last winter followed by cold ones?
Great adventures mate, have you tried hedgehog mushroom very underrated edible , very meaty my favourite above chanterelle or penny bun, would go great in a stew😎 great work all the best 🍻
What a beautiful to be! And the film making skills get better with every trip. Just brilliant stuff! 👍🏞️. Which do you prefer? The Spain, Portugal terrain or the northern forests?
Cheers Neale 👍. I couldn't decide between the two, Spain/Portugal has great off road and the weather, but Scandinavia has the bushcraft/campfire thing and great hiking 🤔
In Sweden some 87% of the population live in urban areas, which only cover 1,5% of Swedens total area (69% forest). The majority of people also live in the southern third of the country. So an excellent country to find wilderness in relative proximity to urban areas. Also the camping infrastructure is really well developed (compared to other countries). Norway also have a lot of wilderness. Even less population density then Sweden. But they have the majority of the Scandinavian mountain range. So a lot of mountains and fjords. Making camping harder. Not impossible though, if you like the challenge. ;)
Yeah it was great travelling around Norway/Sweden, lots of space especially in the north. On a few days we only saw one or two other people and just a handful of cars. It's the total opposite here in the UK; there's a traffic jam waiting for you around every corner.
Ian Lyons hi mate, the Foxwing is attached with 3 sections of old roof bar. It’s a bit tricky to explain, the only way I could get it to fit was to bolt the original foxwing brackets to normal roof bars, then I cut the bars down to about 18 inches, drilled in two holes then bolted the bars to the slimline rack. It was a right carry on but there was no other way as the Maggiolina tent is a fair bit wider than the slimline rack so I had to find a way to extend the awning so it would clear the tent.
