Jim. Excellent video, real sailing with no click bait. Based on this video and the previous one, I now have WeatherFax up and running; I splashed out on a aerial, a RSP1B black box (Didn't have a SSB radio to hand or an IPAD), SDRConnect Software (Free) and Black Cat Weatherfax (£20). Plugged it all together and now receiving great weather charts on my boat. Waiting for the next installment..... Regards, Ed

@@grahamatsea3575 I'm very pleased you enjoyed the video.. I never thought about bleeding out the air at the top of the filter, it seems to work fine without, but I'll try that and see if there's an improvement..
@@contessa26-jim on mine the air had built up to the point of partially covering the outlet port to the engine meaning the impeller was struggling getting water flow through.....as soon as I bled the air the flow rate coming out of the exhaust improved significantly. My impeller was new.

I'm so impressed with what you achieve, heading North at least, The SSB data is invaluable, not many Mariner's know about Northwood transmissions. so well done👍
Adorable boat. People have had problems with batteries in parallel, contaminated water and fuel tanks, the seawater side of the cooling system. I'd carry a USA style CB radio for long shortwave chitchat. I think a Chinese 12 volt freezer is better than a boat fridge.
Yes, so many things to have problems with. I don't have a fridge at all, its amazing how well things keep without one, fridge would be useful for beer I suppose, but on the other hand I don't drink on passgae!
@@contessa26-jim i drink. Lime juice. Orange juice. 12 volt Chinese chest freezers are the best. Stick to ECO mode. A diluted acid car battery makes a small deep cycle. Two 6 volt batteries in series make a good 12 volt. I like wiring overhead. Avoid those long skinny solar panels. They break to easily. So do flex panels.
Nice! Read the comment about the windlass; l have a MUIR manual windlass which I will replace by an Electrical one as it is to small for my 35ft’r , It’ll be fine on a 26ft… Still using my NASA SSB receiver plus IPad now and then, the blackcat app works flawless
