New bonnet is awesome mate 👌 Gary's Escort is an amazing build 😮 we had a Mk2 fitted with a Rover V8.. That was quick in its day... But a twin turbo'd LS is something else!! Definitely looking forward to the road test on that one!! Hope you and Cat are feeling better 👍
Garry's old 'Escort' was Rover V8 powered (because thats what the TVRs came with standard) and it felt powerful. This new 'Escort' is going to be INSANE!!! 😃
Love the escort and what gary has done, dont know wether to call him an amazing creator or an artist what he produces is beautiful...keep up the great channel marcus 👍
Another awesome video mate, cant wait to see Gary's finished build. And glad you fitted the new bonnet to yours in this video as i couldnt wait to see it, looks wicked mate 👌🏻
This is what I want to do. Generally technically speaking, this is not LS. This terminology is the RPO code that GM uses for its families of engine. This is a Gen 3 LM7. GM made bucket loads of them over the pond as the LM7 5.3 was the most common made motor. I have LS1 engines sitting in my shed along with Tremec TR6060 gearboxes and LS7 flywheel / clutches, plus a shitload of Summit Racing parts. I lived in New Zealand and brought back all the goodies. The Tr6060 6 speed are quite strong and direct bolt up, I am assuming the BMW box is strong, would it be strong enough? Lovely build though. Regards Adam
gearbox setup i bought it off a guy who drifts a bmw e46 with exact same setup and hes running 700hp and not had any problems with the box. id love a t56 box but it all comes down to money. im not a rich man and doing this build on a budget.
They function ok but are pretty unrefined & an utter pain to work on depending which adaptor kit you have. Most use the twin plate BM clutch too which is decent but doesn't take a massive amount of agro. I hear you on the T56 cost - they do turn up from time to time at sensible cost although rarer now, the TR6060 is actually the one to go for. Depends whst deal you got but a cheap gearbox isn't so cheap when you buy the adaptor kit, clutch etc new. It's certainly not a cheap game however you go about it!
@@SB-vb8ch the adapter plate , flywheel and clutch set up was from a well know company. cant remeber who supplied it unfortunately. the bmw box will be fine for as its mainly a road car just to have a bit of fun in. its not a serious track or drag car so will be fine
@@garrybull4165 ahh ok just a thought has I have a st150 and wanted to see if any parts for that model in carbon fibre parts wise be it bonnet or interior door cards etc great build look forward to the next vid of the Escort LS 👍🏻
Lot of work there, lots of big numbers thrown around with turbo LS motors but 800 is extremely optimistic for a low spec 5.3, especially if you want it to hang together. That intake isn't ideal either, cathedral port heads benefit from the FAST intake. It needs a decent cam, springs, pushrods & some decent head studs plus ring gapping as you mentioned. For reference I have a twin turbo'd LS3 in an older TVR.
Gary said his goal was 650 but anyways, when has 800 out of a 5.3 with cam, springs and boost been extremely optimistic? And the intake will work fine, might need a LB or 2 more boost over a Fast intake but didn’t cost £1,000. I never get why folk always have to critique peoples builds especially when the advice is spending more money without knowing their goals. Kickass build Gary, it’s going to be awesome and much respect to a true “start to finish” car builder!!
That bonnet is awesome. 90s British touring cars used ram air intakes made of carbon. I think thats the way to go with the new bonnet intakes. Makes a huge noticeable difference to acceleration.
the shocks are not your normal run of the mill gaz coilovers. what ive got are proper race spec so may be a bit harsh for the road but for the price i paid im happy with them. have used gaz coilovers on quite a few cars and they have been good so no complaints from me
yow bro another great vid we can only dream off owing the car,,,marcus i asked you before if you can give a live shout out about squint and its mint he does old school escorts too, needs a shout out this is how i found your channel ,🤠🤠✌✌
What an absolute genius craftsman with GRP & carbon fibre....... unbelievable!!👍🤘

You should get Gary to make you a cold air box for the ITBs so you can duct cold air into them, you’ll get more consistent power.

for me, MK1 is a Duratec or Millington unit. My brain cant agree with any other Engine 😄

Oh & don't bother with the BM box either, just go T56 & you can use an off the shelf decent clutch & it will all just work.

I don't think Garry intends to pull wheelies off the line at Santa Pod so he may actually be ok with the Beemer box??? 🤔

Beautiful creation - although I wouldnt fancy a front end shunt in it
you wouldnt want a front end shunt in any fibreglass or carbon car for that matter. front ends not been mounted yet so got all that to do soon
Awesome channel Marcus
Thanks mate! 👍
Gary should use a Zakspeed kit which is wider & more suited to what he is doing there
nah mate. this is my own body design which i prefer over the zackspeed kit as thats too wide lol
He’s a very clever man
Nice. Imagine what it would be like with a K20 though instead. Please feature a K20 escort
no thanks. you can keep your honda engine. as good as they are just not for me
Is it gonna be auto🤔🤔
Are the front and rear screens standard sizes?
yes all the windows are standard size
