    I just completed this challenging repair and if I may offer some tips for fellow DIYers. Put the car on a lift . I did it in my garage with the car on ramps and man is was cramped. When removing the old sensor just cut the wire and the metal J tube off. Who cares, it’s no good right? That way I was able to put a deep 17mm socket on it. Mine was frozen in. I soaked it with penetrating oil and let it sit overnight, twice. It finally let go. As for installing the new sensor, get yourself a 17mm heat sensor socket . These have a cut out side and allow you to tighten the sensor with the wires in place. I made my own route for the cable up to the top of the engine. I made sure it wasn’t close to any hot exhaust or the turbo. The old cable is still in there. Heck with that.

    So I have a 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI with the same problem/code of PO544. A few days ago on my way home from work the glow plug started flashing and now the check engine light has come on. I have a VCDS system, and when I hooked it up to look at the same data as you - all my temps look normal. None of them were pegged at 930 degrees. Do you happen to know what else could be wrong?

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  2 года назад +1

    I had a coil light flashing on my 2.0 litre mark 6 diesel Golf, it had gone into regeneration, I had stopped to fill up at the shell garage with diesel started the engine and it immediately went back into regeneration, got back home within 10 minutes turned the engine off to park up, I started the engine again 45 minutes later and the coil light started flashing, I drove it up the road for about ten minutes and the coil light disappeared and the regen had finished. Did the light come on because of an unfinished regen perhaps do you think. Thanks in advance.

    I have the same code along with p2463, what do u recommend for cleaning the dpf and is it payment fix or do i need fo replace it? Find shop that claims to clean it using ultrasonic cleaning, how effective is that? Also any easier way to check on p0544 without having the resistor and the scanner ? And how are p0544 and p2463 are related? I have same vehicle 2010 jetta wagon tdi

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  5 лет назад +1

      I have no experience with cleaning dpf. All these cars are under "emmissions warranty" here so they all go to the dealer for those codes. Since you didn't provide the definition of P2463 I cannot answer your other question. Sorry, although I try to answer every question, I cannot take the time to look up and research the code definitions, and I do not have every code definition memorized.

      @@CoolAirVw p0544 can i just change both sensors and are they the same part # ? Any symptoms or what causes failure to these temp sensors?

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  5 лет назад +2

      @@madinahboy There are 4 sensors, not two. In this video I had to identify which sensor was the g235 casuing our P0544 code. But you don't need to do so, as you have this video to show you which sensor relates to P0544. The question you should be asking is how do I know changing the sensor will fix it, and the answer would be you have to use the resistor and the scan tool to confirm the wiring or computer isn't the problem. If you want to just change the same sensor that I changed go right ahead, as the sensor failing is common.

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  5 лет назад +1

      @@madinahboy With regards to "are they the same part number", I dont know why you would want to change more than just the one that failed. They are expensive. Just change the one I changed, using the part number that I used.

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  5 лет назад +2

      fan failure is common. Scanning for trouble codes helps. RS you can jumper power and ground to the fan to check. LS has module built into it. Find wiring schematic for LS, check power ground and you will probably need a scope for "control". Watch for broken wires.

      google translate converts this from Czech to English as , "Please ask for the sales number of the sensor, I ordered according to what I read on the forum and I got a punch .... thanks a lot." I would love to answer a question but google translate did a poor job translating this. If your asking for the part number of the sensor I'm sure it's in the video.
