      Yeah, the 3 Mute City Tracks basically all have the same thing. You should go for it every lap, as theres no risk and its still faster. All the bigger jumps are super risky, since you literally die if you miss them.

  • @MattyIcecubes
    @MattyIcecubes 4 месяца назад +1

    I like the way you ended it. Remembering that there is no point in regenerating in the pit on the final lap of Fire Field can get you the win. Most players instinctively use the pit every time, even on the final lap.

      the jump actually is way bigger in the original. they shortened it in 99

    • @OverseerMoti
      @OverseerMoti 8 месяцев назад

      In the original, you need 400+ kph *before* making that jump. The only way a newbie player could make it is by driving Golden Fox, any other vehicle wouldn't make the jump in time (remember, you'd be given a booster after completing a lap).

    Just FYI for anyone watching and wondering: these are the shortcuts, and they’re all cool, but they aren’t all practical for races.
    Other comments mention that the super shortcuts in Port Town I and II are actually really hard to do in such a way that they save any significant time, and you’ll still lose out on some super sparks for doing that, but even moreso…
    I recently watched an epic speedrun of the SNES original recently, from one of the Games Done Quick events several years ago. The coolest part was the runner nailing that second White Land II shortcut (the one with the double hop) after a few attempts. The jump was a bit harder on the original version, but it’s still so very not worth trying outside time trials in F-Zero 99-they said it saved about 0.2 seconds in the original, despite that level of difficulty.

    • @Real21Gamer
      @Real21Gamer  9 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah, you really have to slow down to do the double hop on White Land II, since the jump was shortened. It really only saves time for the Golden Fox. But you should never go for it outside of practice. Its way too inconsistent to go for in a final race of a GP, since you will most likely die if you miss it. Just go for the one ramp way.

    To me a shortcut is finding a way to cut the length of the track in a way that wasn't really intended. So on that note, the Red Canyon II one isn't *really* a shortcut, imo. It's clearly an intended design feature of the track to go over those big jumps. Yes, it's quicker to go that way instead of the alternate path through the mine field, but it's designed as a (slightly riskier) option for those who want to go that way (however, the Red Canyon I case IS a legitimate shortcut as you use the jump to cut the corner). Same story with the final corner on Fire Field - yes, it's faster to take the inside path, but again it's intended design. The recharge strip is placed on the outside path so taking the inside path means you don't get that benefit (so again it's riskier). In reality, you're only going to be taking that inside path on the final lap. The Silence one... the first part of it is again a (slightly riskier) option to take the inside path than to go around the outside, however the second part, where you can use the jump pad to cut the corner, is legitimate shortcut.

      Dont accelerate in sharp turns, just hold R/L and right/left.
      Start pressing B once youre at the exit of the turn.
      Sometimes also repeatetly pressing B works fine, espcially with Golden Fox, which has the worst grip of all the machines

    • @lmfz4800
      @lmfz4800 9 месяцев назад +2

      I press the gas on the red canyon turns. I find that tapping left or right helps to prevent drift on curves w fox. Alternatively you can tap gas, or do both. Try to beat the firefield time trial. It will trivialize all turns in the game.

      For sharp turns on the ground i always use L/R + Joystick to turn (no accelerating in sharp turns, Golden Fox has no grip)

    It’s feel like these shortcuts are better to use for cars that have higher top speed like the Fox and Stingray

    • @Real21Gamer
      @Real21Gamer  9 месяцев назад +6

      All machines have the same aerial top speed, being 478 km/h (which is also grounded top speed for the sting ray). Thats why ramps are faster to take (except for sting ray, which is equal).
      Golden Fox actually has the lowest top speed, but it can boost the most and will reach aerial top speed the fastest, when chaining ramps into each other. But yeah, theres a reason why fox and sting ray are considered the best maschines

    Its fine if you plan to do world records but please do not do this in grand prix. It ruins the expierence for the others in the race. A gamebis fun when everyone plays on equal grounds but when you get that o e guy doing shortcuts, people will start quitting the game and the game itself will die a lot sooner. Its hard enough to get a good placement as it is.
