  • Every track has a specific pattern of bumpers that spawn for each individual lap, and it's the same for every race. It's possible to learn and plan for the most optimal path through the bumpers, as long as you know where they are and where they are going. This video analyzes the bumper spawns and paths for the entire Mute City 1 race. I will be adding more videos on the other Knight League tracks soon, so make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss it!

      Thanks for the feedback! It was actually a lot of fun, and also helped me personally to see where the bumpers would affect the lines I would normally take in a practice race. Although I still need some experience with the Golden Fox's handling, if it wasn't obvious in the video 😂

    One simple comment to make on this. Your speed can vary by vehicle type, and where those bumpers will be when rounding a corner can vary depending on the top speed of that vehicle and if you're boosting. I think it is best to memorize not only which of the 5 lanes they spawn on in each level, but also how to handle their spawn in every vehicle. Most of the time, frontrunners and first place drivers on maps like mute city and big blue are going to be in golden foxes. However, in a grand prix setting, a pro player using the gray bumper method can easily bring a wild goose into first place on the last 3 tracks of the prix, and it is important to understand how to pass the bumpers in a vehicle with a higher top speed and higher grip. That said, the transition shouldn't be that bad, as the bumpers will not spawn in a different lane depending on the vehicle in first place.
    Also, the editing in this is fantastic. It's quite hard to edit vehicles onto a moving picture like that!

      Thanks for the compliment! I do a decent job editing, but I am by no means an expert. I'm just glad that I was able to make it work like I had visualized.

    i'm reviewing this 4mos later and it is all very helpful. one thing i noticed though is that some bumpers do a "prep" before turning where they outswing themselves past their rail to complete a sharp turn. one example is mc2 after the rotunda where bumpers take incredibly wide turns

    Golden Fox's tight cornering and highly responsive handling makes it noticeably easier to evade bumpers than other machines. Wild Goose can seriously be a struggle to make a lot of these last lap turns without hitting anything.

    • @heyniles
      @heyniles  8 месяцев назад

      Could be that you are confusing the Fox with Stingray, regarding the cornering abilities?

    • @wesnohathas1993
      @wesnohathas1993 8 месяцев назад

      @@heyniles No, Stingray is also hard to steer in its own special way. Falcon and Fox have much more lightweight handling. They can turn on a dime because they're less locked into their momentum, even in spite of Fox's low grip.

    • @heyniles
      @heyniles  8 месяцев назад

      @@wesnohathas1993 I suggest you check out my video where I break down the stats on each of the vehicles - the Fox has measurably the worst handling of all 4 vehicles.
      Now, that's not to say that you might be most comfortable turning with the Fox. In fact, you're right that the Stingray can be more difficult to pilot if you're used to power sliding into turns.

  • @josephcastle3872
    @josephcastle3872 Год назад +2

    I know editing those bumpers in with key frames must be a pain in the butt, but it would be cool if for your next video, you grab the other bumper sprites, so it looks like they are actually turning. It can help make it look more like they do in a normal race. Or, better yet, record a successful front running race so you can simply use that footage rather than having to edit them in. It’s ok if you don’t though, I understand that can be very time consuming.

    • @heyniles

    During team battles, there are also pink and green bumpers, which replace the blue bumper and like the blue bumper, are controlled by a crashed out player. The colors corresponding to the team they were one when they crashed out. Unlike the blue bumpers which have a 30 second time limit before automatically exploding, the green and pink bumpers have no time limit . Later on In standard 99 races, there's also the big yellow bumper, an ai controlled bumper which drops a lot of super sparks when collided with. Only one such yellow bumper appears per race

    • @heyniles
      @heyniles  Год назад +2

      The yellow bumper can actually spawn multiple times in a race, but it's usually back in the pack; this works as a "rubber band" mechanism to help racers falling behind build up their super boost faster.
