During the video were switching between the signals to give you a good idea how great this preamp sounds in both situations. Sit back and enjoy the video and share it with all your of guitar playing friends! Koch Superlead pedal preamp overview
I'd love to see a demo with some knob twisting to see the different tones you can get out of this pedal. For example I'd love to know which is the center frequency controlled by the mid knob. That makes a huge difference and can make or break a pedal for me. ;-)
after sold my mesa boogie recording rectifier i used koch pedaltone 4 years ago and i changed tubes with mesa boogie hi-gain tubes and result is great. i sold it cause its too big..anyway koch is amazing brand.
We had a problem with the mic audio! We just noticed it when we started to edit this video. So we made a mix of cam audio and a bit of mic audio. We gonna use a different new mic next time!
The overdriven tones, pedal features and looks are exceptional. Should one expect an equally decent headroom from the clean channel (i.e. in gigs), or is it rather typical?
ok,,, sounds pretty cool.. how is it on a rolled off guitar volume? Pick response? Also how does it sound on a strat style guitar clean? I live in the US and so far none of the dealers listed have this pedal in stock. Would like to try it but not shelling out $349 for a test.
TheGuitarlad Hi, both pedals responds very well on rolled go guitar volume and pick response. Clean has the same voicing as our Jupiter series. You can find a lot of video's on our YT channel. If you contact our US distributor at sales@stagetrixproducts.com he can tell you which store's has them in stock. He just received a new fresh shipment of pedals!
Hi super super sound and product again from Koch, i don't understand why pre and Post FX Loop? Wah or Comp pedal can't go direct to the input , and delay to the output? maybe for going to the PA?
Hi Chris, we made a pre loop to make the Superlead more flexible on a pedalboard. So you can put pedals like wah, boost and ect..also on the left side without making a cable mess. The reason for the post loop is that we made it buffered so you won't have any signal loss and second reason because you need it for the balanced PA/ Recording out.
Koch Amps ok thank you for the quick reply, I suspected that was why there were these two FX LOOP. it's a very cool preamp in a very big pedal! The sound is superb thanks again!
Hi, after my great studiotone i need a superlead for gigging with a more light gear. I have a TC Electronic G system and i need your help and suggestion to make the best connections... I would like to use the Superlead in the insert of the G system with the 4 cables method . I might use OD (in the TC G's Loop) comp and filter before the Superlead input and delai REverb, Mod etc...after the koch preamp. The best for me is the possibilty to switch channels preamp with the remote jack connected to the G system relai ... but i would like to use the PA direct out without amp on stage, but I hope the connections with this Koch preamp it's like any preamp from a real amps with the 4 cables method? 1- Guitar to the Tc G's Input 2- TC G's send to the superlead Input 3- Post FX Loop Send Superlead to the TC G's 4- TC G's OUTPUT going to the POST Return superLead 5- XLR OUT to the PA 6- TC G's Relai switch out going to the Koch channels remote. i'm right? in advance thanks.)
Koch Amps Excellent thanks a lot! The OD 63' is more vintage ok but it can sound in the plexi territory what is the more Marshallish' between the Superlead and the OD'63???
Hi, can this pedal handle some modern metal stuff or it is limited to 70s-80s hard stuff? from the review it seems more in the modern rock territory, that it is not bad cause it would help to cut better through the mix...
Luigi Iacovitti Hi, Luigi, it can do the modern stuff to. The Tune of the Superlead promo video is all done (of course) with the Superlead! ruclips.net/video/bYQijF5HHUY/видео.html
Hi, thanks a lot for your last anwer. I've now my great Koch Superlead great sound specially by the Amp jack output. The sound is excellent and amazing but... But i'm really not satisfied by the XLR emulated output! I use it for professionals gig direct to the to the PA with real Technicians and pro PA system but my sound is flat not brillant just like a little bit better than Line Out direct to mix awful!!!! , i really don't understand how you get this great sound on your video? Koch said me is the same emulated output than my Studiotone i've not the same sound quality? Mastering treatment? In insert in my g system i use a little the EQ before the XLR output for little corrections but not intirely satisfied What do you suggest to use for a better tone for using this XLR output ? External EQ, external spearkers sim after amp jack output or what else? I need to use this XLR emulated beacause i don't use amp on stage but i don't know how how to get a great sound like you? Need your help and suggestions please in advance thanks ;-)
***** Hi,, I just got my Superlead pedal and it sounds great through the PA, I am also running a small 6v6 as a stage monitor. My only complaint is that the XLR does not have a PAD. The volume to the xlr is affected by the volume and some clubs have horrible mixers that cant handle the load. I am looking into a small mixer (attenuator) to put between the pedal and the PA mixer. As far as sound, check with your soundman and see what he is doing to eq it. Both my output sound equally the same, you may have an issue with your xlr out. Worth a shot.. good luck man.
TheGuitarlad Hi, thanks a lot for your reply. Very not satisfied with this PA/recording output i found the sound too flat like the sound of a Line Out Freq but of course Balanced but not better) i need lot of EQ treatment and i don't want that. I use now the 0db Amp output direct to the Palmer PDI 03 JB sometimes between my amp and my cab) and that Amazing and far beyond better for me. thanks again.
***** You are very welcome, I just want to help a fellow musician out. Interesting idea with the Palmer PDI, I will check my setup again for any tone difference. I know everyone has a different ear for tone. I am curious why your DI is flat sounding. Is it possible for you to A/B against another Superlead Pedal? Just an idea to make sure there isn't anything wrong with your DI. I had to reattach a volume cable because it became disconnected during shipping. Things do go wrong with electronics. I wish you luck and keep rocking !!! :)
***** Maybe, worth a shot to see if it is. You never know with electronics. I have gotten DOA products before, just the way it is. But a good A/B test would give you a definite answer.
Koch realy sound great I use it since from 2 years, but this month something Happned. The overdrive has fade from the real power, and after working even with clean koch begin to put out a smell like a broken cable,! even though clean works great , I dont know what it is ? Maybe I should change the tube
Super son!!!Koch est vraiment un gage de qualité.Mon fils possède une pedaletone 2(préampli à 4 tubes),c'est bien pensé et bien conçu,le son est brut et modulable(en changeant les tubes)Longue vie à Koch!!!
This Japanese pedal runs at 100 voltage so, a step down converter is needed in the US , 120 down to 100.

Thank you Abdus, If you ever looking for a smaller pedal check our Superlead or the 63OD!
best sounding pedal i've heard
The pedal sounds great, well explained too. Only criticism is that the voice sounds a little distant and reverberant. Good job Matthijs!!
We had a problem with the mic audio! We just noticed it when we started to edit this video. So we made a mix of cam audio and a bit of mic audio. We gonna use a different new mic next time!

There's lot's of headroom on the clean channel. It's based on our Jupiter series!
great sound but how do I power the thing?/ thanks

Wouold this work ok with an 8 string? Passive DiMarzio pickups.
Nice!
Is the Speaker Simulator the same as in the Koch Studiotone?
Will there be a demo of the 63 OD?
Alfred Diender Koch 63'OD pedal preamp overview
How was this demo audio recorded? Is it really only the XLR output on the preamp or was it via microphones?

1- Guitar to the Tc G's Input
2- TC G's send to the superlead Input
3- Post FX Loop Send Superlead to the TC G's
4- TC G's OUTPUT going to the POST Return superLead
5- XLR OUT to the PA
6- TC G's Relai switch out going to the Koch channels remote.
i'm right?
in advance thanks.)
Your right! You can totally do it like that!
Koch Amps Excellent thanks a lot! The OD 63' is more vintage ok but it can sound in the plexi territory what is the more Marshallish' between the Superlead and the OD'63???
If you need a kind of hi gain sound i would go for the Superlead! If a basic rock sound is enough then you can go with the 63'OD!
Check out this Guitaranalyze vid of the 63'OD ruclips.net/video/ywON71x6dsA/видео.html
Koch Amps Ok thanks a lot Superlead for me let Go!

Hi, I'm considering to buy an atr-4502 power amp to use with my Axe-Fx, but I can't find demos. Please upload some. Thanks
We'll make video with the ATR-4502 at the end of Febr.

It could be the 12ax7 tube. Bring the pedal to a good tube tech might be an option, we can provide schematics!
@@kochamps ok thank you veru muche I will try putting a new 12ax 7 tube. But what do you mean providing schematics? .
Hey, can this pedal be run straight into my interface so I can record with it? Thanks
+13superdude2 Yes, you can put the balanced XLR voiced output straight into your soundboard. We did it also in this video.
***** Thanks alot
It no sound ike a Marshall superlead
