- Installing the Ford Coyote PCM kit for my foxbody restomod. Wiring this thing up is gonna be super easy! ... or is it?
This series is documentation of the restoration and modification of my 1989 Ford Mustang GT fox body. I've had it since high school and we're doing a coyote swap.

Thank you for making this video. I'm doing an 88 notch .you're a huge help . Thank you !
np, thanks for watching! There'll be a few more bits of wiring in the next two videos, there's very little to actually wire in to the car. What generation coyote are you putting in your 88?
Nice!!! That kit looks awesome I bet it has that brand new rubber smell 😂! You’re basically assembling a brand new car. The pedal set up for the accelerator is really cool, no longer need that annoying wire that’s on every Fox! Very interesting stuff bro, one day I will do a ‘yote swap too and this will be so useful 😎
Thanks bro! It'll definitely be way more modern than it was the last time I drove it. Coil overs, rear disc, hydroboost, 03 steering rack, drive by wire coyote. Going to be fun! ✌️
You are doing a great job with the wiring! You really make it look easy Bro! 💯 👊🏾 I can’t believe that the oil pan drain plug is still leaking!😱
Thank you brother! I'm surprised at how easy the wiring for a coyote swap really is with this PCM kit. And yeah I think I'm going to replace that little plug with a plug with an actual head and gasket on it at the next oil change. It is much better than it was though. Might give it one more tweak.
Nice job! We are all looking forward to the first fire. Have a great day!
👊😎✌️
Thanks bro, very soon! You too!
Super Glue (cyanoacrylate) will permanently glue and reseal that grommet back together.
Thanks! That's a great idea.
But thanks for sharing…. I cut a hole in in firewall inside the fender covered by the fender skirt using the grommet that you drilled…. Will cut as must have soon the same with some silicone….then run the wires hidden under the fender
Sleazy everything is coming together great. I thought my year and a half build was slow but you been at it for 4 years and the foxbody show the work ethic and the car is going to be awesome.
Yes sir, when I think about how different my life was just from when I started this project to now, it's really crazy. This has been a super rewarding hobby and well, the time is going to pass anyway. Thanks for being a part of the channel for so long buddy!
Nice work. That's a really solid kit you bought. Did you buy that from LMR?
Thank you sir, yep bought it through lmr but it's a Ford motorsport kit. Expensive but worth it, I think.
@@SleazysGarage It looks like it's got everything. I assume that accelerator pedal mount came with it too?
@@89G the mount was a separate purchase. The PCM kit is basically generalized for any swap and the bracket is mustang specific from what I understand.
If you look on the opposite side( driver side fender well) you will see the hole used for the cruise control….
Getting closer! Love it! I feel like you and I are at similar points in our builds!
Yep, thank you! Please let me know if I screw anything up! Can't wait to see yours fire up too!
Looks good to me, man! There's usually more than one way that works. Do what works for you. I ended up going with a Holley system for my car.
If no room under the hood… plan on glove box area or side kick panel…. By extending wires…. I’m planning for that as I have seen many do the same….
Awesome, thanks for your advice here! I think I saw foxcast mention doing it this way, or drilling through the firewall like you suggested. There seems to be plenty of wire on the engine side so that should work I think. I definitely want to keep the fuses accessible. I ended up temporarily wiring everything for first fire, but definitely going to back this all out and re-do it and this sounds like a good path to try.
Yes I saw this idea on foxcast media…. I am committed to this path as I welded the firewall wall to Support smooth engine bay…..
If want to chat on some other items feel free…let me know…I also decided to go with PBH … air intake that has incorporated the mass air flow
let's seeeeeeeeeee it starrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt
ikr, wtf!
