My opinion for those debating Griffiths legitimacy as a protagonist. The point of the story is to compare Guts and Griffith. The fact is that they are both evil and know they are evil. The difference is that Guts knows he is a bad person and hates it, he is constantly struggling internally and externally with the forces of evil. Griffith on the other hand accepts his evil for the sake of his dream, not caring for the repercussions it could have on the people around him. You have two boys who had shit upbringings but chose two very different paths. Guts is a sociopath who got taught to be strong no matter what in order to survive, it doesn't justify some of the shitty things he has done but he is still trying to rectify his ways the best way he can, at least he came back and not only saved casca but dedicated his life to restoring her to the way she was out of love. Griffith is a psychopath calculating his next move to fulfill his desire to be on top. It is the actions of the two after their adolescent stages that define them as man of repentance or a man of selfishness. His rape of Casca was so malicious because after he threw his humanity away and any sliver of empathy he had left, he decides to show just how much he doesn't care about either Casca or Guts who were his closest friends by raping her and making him watch. Guts was possessed by a spirit when he assaulted Casca and yeah struggles with a lot of messed up thoughts that are his own but that's what makes him human and the best anti hero protagonist I've ever read. Guts has always cared for her since he fell in love with casca. He tried to protect her, to the best of his ability at each stage in his development. It is understandable he would treat badly at the start everything that has made Guts who he is at that point is sociopath obsessed with his own strength but he learns. All Griffith has ever done for Casca was manipulate her for his own personal gain. He knew she would adore him and do anything he says because if he did like her they would have had a relationship before Guts showed up. I can understand where your coming from saying he is a worthy protagonist because he is written so well and it is so realistic and so human but honestly we don't see the true Griffith until the eclipse where he becomes a literal demon god obsessed with power.
Griffith isn't a psychopath, and neither is Guts a sociopath. Nor was the eclipse showing of Griffiths true colors, in fact the whole ordeal was orchastrated in such a way that Griffith would accept the offer. The loss of Guts, the loss of his body, the loss of power, the loss of the respect, the admiration, and dominance he enjoyed, the only thing remaining a dream he would never be able to make reality, all woven into fate by an omniscient cruel god with the objective to break Griffith so that he would sacrifice those he loved for the sake of that dream. Berserk isn't a story about good and evil, or finding meaning or purpose. It's a story about how dreams can change people, and if those dreams are worth pursuing. Griffith's dream itself probably didn't start out as a narcissistic desire for power either, as he appeared to be a boy concerned by the abuse of commoners by those born into positions of power as was the case when he saved casca. The dream became a coping mechanism later on too, as he rationalizes sending people he knows to be his friends to their deaths, and does things that repulse him which advance his position without drawing from the blood of the people who follow him. The deeper he finds himself standing on the mount of his comrades corpses, the more he relies on this abstract ideal for support, and the greater it's dominion over his mind. The dream becomes his master, and he loses sight of what really matters to him, which was shown to be Guts at the end of the eclipse when Griffith said him to be the only one among the thousands of comrades and enemies to make him forget his dream, and by how his departure caused his emotional breakdown. And this was the straw the broke the camels back. Him feeling abandoned by the one he loved most, and blaming him for all the misery that had befallen him. It wasn't out of a desire for power, but out of heartbreak and a desire to give meaning to all that had happened before. Griffith is the most tragic and most well written figure in Berserk, I honestly don't see how people don't understand Berserk and it's themes, it's like they only choose to read what fits into their existentialist narrative and ignore all that is attacking the idea.
Guts isn't evil, are you fucking kidding me? From the second chapter of the story, Guts is shown to have an immense amount of compassion and empathy. Trying his best to keep the priest and his daughter safe. And being so shocked by the horrific death that befalls them, that he can't even fight back against the possessed girl that just killed her father, until she stabs him. Prompting him to throw up in response from the shock. He also showed compassion and sadness when vargas died. He even held back when fighting rosine, because he felt sympathy for her. He's not an evil person. The fact that you think that, clearly shows you don't understand Guts at all
Tbh, I dont think either Guts or Griffith are truly evil or good. They've both done horrible and helpful things. What I do believe is that they are is human. They represent the best and worst of us.
I've seen this video more than 500 times since the first time I saw it due to my best friend, we've been seeing together this MMV almosty daily since our friendship and personalities are pretty much the same as Guts and Griffith, him being Guts for the way he sees the series and how he had to strugle on life without a porpouse and me being same as Griffith on the way I see one mans dream as inportant as his mainlife goal. The thing is, we both had our strugles on life and we both like to debate about everything life is about like the psychological aspects of the existence and pretty mucj everything, we have such an intense relationship that I cannot describe with words, like the one Miura had with Mori, and surely maybe some of you who are reading this have someone as precious as we have. The thing is that everytine we see this MMV we both joking about the fact our relationship and personal goals are the same as these characters and that makes me thing all the time, how the fuck such a video could be so perfect? And then I think about how berserk is perfect, in terms of history, psychology, realist, and even better it has the best fucking visual art in the entire manga. Like how you can do as a mangaka that everysingle panel you draw has a meaning? Something you can watch for minutes, maybe hours or even days or months and still manage to learn something new about it? Thats Berserk, and thats Viva la vida from Coldplay, a perfect song for a perfect villain, Griffith. I know it may be edgy to write all of this saying "my friend and I are both Guts and Griffith", yeah, maybe, but thats how life is, we need to indentify ourselfs in our favorite characters or songs or whatever, its normal. For me this video reminds me of something, how life is going trought my head and also how its doing the same effect on my friend, we both understand each other at 100%, at some point I feel like hes the most important being of my life with my mom and my girlfriend, and feeling like he would leave me one day due to his mental illness, it scares me. I feel I will lose something important, maybe the most important thing of my life, something that will make me go crazy and manage ti destroy me mentally. He is the strongest person I'll ever meet, someone whos been desling with squizophrenia since 5 yrs old and such a big etc makes me thinking, how can I deal with my future knowing he will kill himself one day. That would be my hell, my personal eclipse, the moment ill feel like Griffith loosing Guts when he most needed him. I have DID (Dissociate Identity Disorder), such a weird illness that makes you "replace" your personality with someone else who lives inside your head. Knowing that my friend will die soon made my brain replicate everything I know of him inside my brain, he lives inside me literally. My therapist told me its the first time she sees someone with this illness this developed and I understand why it is, same as Griffith I feel numb without a purpouse in life, same as Guts, but I cannot change while he still tries to be the best person for the humanity. I have a lot of feelings with this MMV, maybe all this text was unnecesary but needed to write how such a perfect video made me and my friend cry each time we see it. Thanks for creating such a masterpiece with no dialogues and too many feelings, and thanks to Miura for creating the best manga of all time and maybe the best story since the Bible. @@divercetti the storytelling is for what I find berserk the greatest artwork, and the sole disagreement is that for me miura is the greatest storyteller to ever live until today and probably until some time pass. I just realized.. this could work with skull knight as well..

BERSERK IS BACK LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO
Thank you Miura
maaan this is purely awesome i'm sad this has only 3K view, really incredible work
This is possibly the best Berserk edit I've seen
It hurts to see someone so talented being so underrated. I hope you make it big, this is honestly amazing!
WOOOOWWW 😍
My youtube recommandations blessed me
This video is so good that it allows me to sympathize with Griffith for at least a few seconds. What a beautiful video, thank you very much for sharing it
You could see this as the fairy tale version of Griffith that we were led to believe about him and what made us want to follow him in the first place.
This edit is underrated, it's a masterpiece.
Finally someone made tribute to griffith he maybe done worst thing but as a villain he's really great and complex one of the best animanga villain so far
God, it's been a while since i've read berserk, and i forgot how good of a character griffith was. Literally made me cry like why this version of the song toooo bruhhuhuh
Ich bin ganz da auf fasziniert sein😅
Literally the greatest video on here, have had it on loop for weeks
this song perfectly describes griffith
I'm back. Listening to this masterpiece before the 'Final' chapter of Berserk is out. I wish we could see Miura's vision to it's conclusion. Let's hope for the best and wait for the right decision on Berserk.
Edit 1 - Last panel of 364 with the tone of the chapter and knowing it was Miura's last chapter. It was perfect. Biggest cliffhanger in all of Manga. Thank you Miura Sensei. 🥲🙏🏼
Berserk was truly something else.❤️🔥
It gonna reach 100k soon
Great video. I love Berserk.
Thank you and RIP Kentaro Miura
This video embodies what it would be like if Berserk had a musical trailer.
This is the best edit I have ever seen
Really cool
Top 1 mmv berserk. Really touching :(
I fricking love how in Berk cascus and intenstines get together after a long time it’s sad how Girth makes the sacrifice and ruins it all
Berserk is back and we will see the end of the journey of the struggler and the king who achieved it all. This is an amazing amv and fully capsulates Griffiths character.
The one of best edit of Berserk I never see in my life
Through the years I watched all the berserk edits on the internet many, many times. And this is the one. There are some that are so good, but this one is just perfection. Everything is realized with so much precision, it's stunning. It makes me drop my jaw. Thank you for making this.
That looks like a LOT of work, I kinda feel bad now. Awesome video, definitely deserves more attention.
thank you!! 💞 shares are always appreciated :>
This is so good but god it is unnerving to hear the normal version of this song
holy shit, you have made the most incredible edit that i've ever seen. The music couldn't be more perfect, the panels that you choosed could not be more perfect.
aw, thank you so much! i am glad you enjoyed it!!!
bro just came here after a year and this edit continues to be the most incredible manga AMV I've seen. Congratz
Damn this editing is just wow!
I no joke watch this every day. Might just be one of my favorite edits ever, great work!
ahhh back for my 90000th rewatch
Amazing... I love it!
I specifically searched for this, but i didn't expect such an amazing edit. Nice job
My second favorite Berserk edit right behind causality strikes back
What’s the first?🧐
@@junko3772
I’m gonna quote myself
“Right behind CAUSALITY STRIKES BACK”
RICKERT A BASED
Master kentaro legacy is still here
His struggle was not in vain
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA everytime I see a tribute im remembered all these characters are frozen in time to never see the end of their journey and that makes me truly sad.
This video is amazing but it needs a better title so that more people can find it! It's impossible to find it with the search engine because of the weird letters!
ahhh noted! i'll change it to normal letters then! :)
It really is something, well done
One hell of a clean edit and perfection.
I just was watching the Berserk episode when Guts cam back. And Griffith reminded me of this song. Once the beloved leader of the hawks and now locked in the lowest dungeon.
Where he should have stayed
A dream isn't always a good thing. Living for one is a dangerous thing.
This made me very aware that I have never actually listed to the lyrics of this song.
Awesome
with this music berserk looks like disney story hahah
Really enjoyed this. Thanks for the effort.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
This needs more views.
Thank you for this
came back here just to say berserk is coming back (new chapter expected 24 june)
thanks you for that masterclass
Great edit
I just want to say.
Thank you for this amazing video.
Rest in Peace, Kentaro Miura.

@@mlkywy you are welcome 🥰

this is one of the best things ive seen on youtube
well done ❤️
Te fecito por este increíble y asombroso video, sigue asi y cumple todos tus sueños :).Saludos desde Perú.
Kentaro Miura may be the greatest storyteller to ever live.
best Manga creator and illustrator YES storyteller IDK bro
ur doing too much
@@divercetti the storytelling is for what I find berserk the greatest artwork, and the sole disagreement is that for me miura is the greatest storyteller to ever live until today and probably until some time pass.
Of course, for me the drawing of a comics/BD/manga/... are a form of storytelling and miura is the greatest master on this category of storytelling even if contenders to this title does live. And maybe, will he be detronned sooner than I think.
I'm mainly thinking of the work of Kamome Shirahama : witch hat atelier. Wich as a fabulous storytelling and artstyle. But a lot of other contenders exists.
Beautifully done, thank you for making this.
This is beatiful! Art in it's purest form.
Beautiful
This was just recommened to me, the algorithm really does lead you to gold some times. Well done!
This, this is top-tier editing. I watched another 3 videos with this idea, putting pannels with the instruments and words but:
1.- You put very specific parts from the manga, matching the lyrics and also matching where the instruments sound
2.- every second of the video is smooth as hell, as i said, this is top-tier editing
I'm glad i found this ^^
LONG LIVE BERSERK INDEED! LET'S FKING GO GUTSSS!
Griffith used to rule the world
Now Griffin is dead. Long live femto
"Now the old king is dead" "LOL"
This is great. Thank you for making it.
hearing this song with seeing this feels so weird to me, in a good way. i remember crying to the minecraft version of the song when i was like 9 years old and now having read berserk, the most insane and best story ever imo, right as i go into my 20s... i didnt cry but definitely hit something there. good video :)
This video will got 1 million view !!
Golden age...
Wow this is really amazing
.
Great video!❤️
GREATEST GREATEST Antagonist
God bless Berserk.

long live Bersek. Miura never forgotten
Like and Sub done. Perfect panels taken for the song. Great Edit. :)
