Hello Joy. I love you and your videos. You are so full of life. My husband passed away 11 years ago and I’m still trying to find my new life without him. I live in Northern Idaho in Coeur d Alene. I’ve not found a sewing community. This is quilting world and I’m not a quilter. I’ve been sewing for decades and taken many classes in a variety of subjects and I dearly miss the comradely and inspiration. You dear Joy have helped to fill my void. I’ve learned so many things from your videos but what I treasure the most is having someone to laugh with again. 😊
I wanted to finish sharing with you that I praise and thank God for bringing you into my life. God’s Blessings Joy.
You can't imagine how much your comment means to me!!! My prayer every single day is that I can be a blessing to somebody. I'm so happy you find laughter in my videos. So many times when people leave a comment saying I made them laugh, I go back and watch my video to try to figure out what I said that would make someone laugh. I'm sorry you lost your husband so early. I cannot imagine the heartache, but we know it doesn't last forever. We know our Christian loved ones just change residence, and we will join them again one day.

Like your new chairs and love that quilt behind you. I've been admiring that quilt and didnt get a chance to tell you. I really like the clothes you sew and how nicely you fit them to your body. That hemming tip is a winner! I'll try that. I dont like to expose my legs, too veiny. 70's not always kind to body parts. Genetics plays big part. Glad you're feeling better and hope Jerry does, too. Enjoy your videos! ❤

I also send prayers and positive thoughts for Jerry. I love the jacket, color, and blouse you hemmed on the curve. I learned that technique many years ago and didn't realize that I should have mentioned that but glad there are others on here to give you their tips. I also loved the blouse you wore toward the end of the video, so pretty on you.

I really like how the cardigan turned out and I like it better without the bust dart sewed in. Would never have thought of that, so thanks for that tip. And thanks for the tip on hemming a curved hem. I learned something new also. Hope Jerry gets better soon.

I always enjoy seeing you and your sewing. I am sorry Jerry isn’t feeling well. I mention this only because a lady at church has just found out she has Lyme disease. A low grade temp, joint and muscle aches, flu like symptoms. I believe they have to do a specific blood test to check for it. If he is outside a lot… he could have been bitten by a tick. Praying he is well even now. ❤ Diann
I like the combination of fabric.
Very nice jacket. Peggy also pulls up the sleeves to 3/4 . I like this style and it suits you beautifully. Glenda put shirring along the sleeves to the same effect. Personally, I prefer a light single colour or a light background with small flowers or other figures under the jacket rather than a large floral in assorted colours. I think it becomes you more. You look very young in the white floral top and light blue jeans. So very sorry for Jerry. I pray he recovers soon. Covid affects people at very different degrees. For some, it is just like any other flu, others experience long-term fatigue, as it affects the lungs. (lung-covid). Early recognition helps recovery. I wish you all the best

Sending prayers for Jerry to feel better. Love the sweater and I like it better without the dart. Love the top you hemmed. No sewing here today as I did quite a bit of housecleaning myself and I’m so tired. Tomorrow I go for my last eye check for the cataract surgery and get checked for glasses and get to pick out frames. I’ll be so glad to get the glasses with everything in them. I need glasses for seeing far away,magnifying glasses for real close up, sunglasses, then no sunglasses. Driving me crazy! Loving how great I do see though from the cataract surgery.
I use contacts. Hate wearing glasses. Just have to wear one for close up.

A curved hem … I didn’t know how, but, after watching your video, now I do. … Recently I made a test garment for my sister and it had a curved hem: the hacking I did at the side seams was a mess. Joy, i looked at the thermometer earlier today and I just want to let you know it is 111 degrees here in Phoenix. I don't think I can afford to keep my house cool so I have to wear sleeveless tops. I've recognized worrying about others seeing my arms is unreasonable. I have some nice haawiian fabric and I made sleeveless dresses. I get compliments on them and they are cool.
I grew up in Phoenix. Left when I was 16. The heat is different there, but it still gets really hot.

What a great idea on doing the hem before sewing the sides. I also love the material you used for that top. My birthday is also in August and I will be 71. We were 113 degrees here in Las Vegas and yes I'm going to sew some shorts too!

The jacket looks great. The print fabric looks very nice with the "not fuscia" on my devices. I also bought the Love Notions swimwear pattern. I do love the dress/shorts combo for us "more mature" figures. Lol.
Sending Jerry well wishes… COVID affects each individual very differently… some bounce back quickly, some a bit longer and some have very long lingering side effects…your ‘not fuschia’ colored jacket looks great… don’t beat yourself up… we are our own worst enemy 😉… take care of you and Jerry… we will be here when you are ready. 🫶
