I have both the Modcase and the Killswitch. I agree that in terms of raw materials, the Killswitch is more premium feeling and the cover is a more secure fit, but for me that’s where it stops. As a person with bigger hands, the Modcase grips still feel better to hold, the stand on the Modcase is way better, the Modcase has more functionality, and the clear back makes good for a rear skin or backplate
@@OC.TINYYY I share some of your thoughts, but imo, the Modcase is the better of the two especially when you start to consider value. The Killswitch isn’t perfect either. The cover is more secure, but it’s like setting a mouse trap to get it on and off. The kickstand is just ok, with no other practical uses like attaching a battery bank that you get with the Modcase. And not to mention you get all of this at more than twice the cost. For some it’s still worth it, but not for me.
No you’re spot on with the Jsaux case not fitting correctly. I reached out to customer support received a replacement and it had the same issue. They just fumbled with this one unfortunately but I love my Steamdeck case. It would have been nice if Dbrand made the stand modular though.
I’m very happy with my mod case purchase. But 128kb channel just released first review of the skull and co ally x case. He seems to think it is the best and only $18 but no cover like on mod case. I think you get the most from the mod case and I haven’t held the killswitch but the mod case feels snug and grippy to me. It impresses me because the whole device feels even more compact. Plus kickstand is better, and I use the battery pack attachment a lot especially at airports, airplanes, or in the backseat on vacation… etc. I don’t see how the killswitch could be worth it at like 45-50 dollars more and some things are still a little worse than the mod case. Also, Jsaux is releasing their hdmi 2.1 dock with Ethernet later this month and I think I’m getting one of those too. Would love to see a review.
I have Jsaux and skull & co case. I use if for different condition. If I stay at home, then I prefer to use skull & co case. Because it is lightweight and grip so nice. If I go traveling, I would prefer to take the Jsaux because it is more secure.
Im not gonna get the killswitch because i need the strap of the mod case to hold the external drive for my modded Oculink Ally x, the top part of the mod case definitely dont fit well at all, i tried to use a hair dryer to heat it and then blast with 16c air con whie holding it tightly untill completely cooled down, didn't work at all.... However quality is quite good so its fine
I have the killswitch and the skull and co grip case. The killswitch is .uch much better its actually premium it really hugs the device keeping it secure. The skull and co feels nice to hold but flaps all over the top lip and sides. Killswitch is the best case.
Ppl had comlains about both mod ase and kill switch of defective tops or cases and in both cases got replacement free of charge will suggest you do the same on mod case you have nothing to lose
@@ChillyDawg-KP nothing has replaced the Kun as my favorite yet. The only thing I see beating it is a "Kun 2" that has all the same features but adds OLED 120HZ, and the new AMD processor. Ally X is no where near as comfortable to hold and only gets 9min more battery life.

Mod case fit is terrible. The top lip is just plain bad & the travel cover isn't flush. Poor QC.
