HUGE thing missed. I absolutely hate it on mine. The top lip doesn't go all the way down. Which makes it hard to put your finger into the reader since the top rubber lip isn't sitting flush. Seriously huge issue.
its the same as the original Ally Mod Case...the biggest thing is it doesnt snap in..but if u just push it in it does stay on..im travelling soon and couldnt wait for the kill switch...also the original kill switch took forever to ship after preorder. if ur in a pinch and need something cause ur not carrying it in a dedicated bagcover than yes the modcase is currently the best available..i ordered it 2 wks ago and got it straight from jsaux last wkend.,if the killswitch had already been readily available i would have def gone that route.
I just got mine in the mail, the screen cover fits perfectly on mine, I was really nervous when I first saw this video but the screen cover fits flush and tight on mine... I chose this one because the killswitch one wouldn't have fit in the dock I have so I'm really relieved it fits and feels solid😅

6:12 seems that the front cover feels icky and untight to close it.... glad im not the only one who have the same experience .. especially with my JSAUX white ROG ALLY Z1 Extreme ModCase... its crazy how they got it right with the Steam Deck one but screwed up badly on Rog Ally (and i owned both)
So yeah the top case doesn't really fit unless you like when you put it on if you look at the power hole and close it that way make sure it's lined up it closes no problem still doesn't feel like it fits properly but I do have stick grips and I do know it doesn't hit them at least not that I can see. It work to get you held over but I think I'm going to try out to kill switch
Received mine yesterday and I've had no issues with it. I've seen videos with gaps around bottom corners not sitting down flat but I don't have that issue. I line it up with the type C port then close it with no worries its going to pop off as it takes some force to pull it off but would have been better if it clipped down like other hard cases you mention.
My modcase is perfectly functional. Top lid even snapped in place. Not sure why some people are having issues. My thoughts are you’re not installing the case properly?..It needs a bit of pressure on the back pushing upwards towards the triggers. Once it’s seated properly the top plate snaps right on. Maybe you have a dud or something. I think it’s a great case. Well worth 29.99. If you don’t mind paying 70.00 get the killswitch. I think 70 for a case is way too pricey even with the little stickers they give. Jsaux did good and to everyone thinking twice just get the modcase and save the 40.00 extra for something else.
I understand that sometimes there are defects in the factory, but to say that we’re installing the case wrong is wild 😅 I may be a Barely Average Dude, but I’m not too stupid to install a case. Modcase is paying you?
So I think there is 2 out there. I bought 2 because of an issue with Amazon. First one did not fit right the second fits just fine but I noticed the adapter thing for the batter pack is different and the packaging was different like all the people I've seen the foam piece in the middle the adapter came fitted in in the middle just one cut out just like in this video. My second one had 2 cut outs and each one had a strap and I had to slide the straps together. Sorry I'm not great at explaining, but this made me feel they may have updated them as the second one I got was better and took a bit longer to get.

Id say you may have a slightly bad batch regarding the front cover. Mine is super tight and requres a fair amount of force to put the cover and to take it off.
Im still waiting for my Modcase to arrive, I bought it cause I had the Steam Deck one and it fits very good, no the best because of missing vent holes and so on, but it does fit and feel good, so many reviews about the Rog Ally being so faulty got me nervous haha, I wanted the killswitch but it’s expensive, I already spent on the Ally X and other accesorioes so I think Ill just order a good Chinese one from Amazon meanwhile lol
yeah just got mine yesterday the cover sucks it fits the same as yours, but I've got smaller caps on my ally and it fits fine, but the cover doesn't snap into place like the Killswitch, which is kinda lame, the grip itself though is phenomenal. Great kickstand too

I thought I was going crazy. The cover definitely doesn't fit right. I have the dbrand on the OG Ally and the difference is night and day. Im kinda disappointed.

Mine closes perfect. It doesn’t fit with stick protectors. You also have to like it up really good as your putting it on. Mines absolutely mint.

I didn’t know the original Ally one had a bad fit as well. 😳

I have a Steam Deck OLED and the mod case fits it perfectly. So I ordered one for my Ally X and I'm also disappointed with the fit.
Can you please investigate with your Ally X if it breaks the vibration after you press Caps ? Not shift.

Just got mine today, not satisfied at all with the fit and finish of the ally x case.. definitely not the same feeling of the steam deck case
you put the stand is upside down lol, should be more sturdy, and the shell needs to mold keeping it on will help or putting it in the sun lol
