Thanks for this I was planning on cleaning my ice makers, ( I have two of them). One point though. anything with compressor such as ice makers or refrigerators has oil in the compressor and should not be turned on right away after being upside down. You should wait a half hour to an hour for the oil to settle back down where it needs to be for the compressor to work so it won't be damaged.
Thank you so much for this video. Mine was making the LOUDEST sounds whenever pulling water to fill the tray and it was just hard water build up that needed cleaning. Such a helpful video!!
My ice maker arrived in the mail with a giant sticker that read "leave in the upright position for 24 hours before first use, so the coolant would be where it was supposed to be."
I broke mine down just like this. Get some pipe cleaners and also use a little WD40 on the rotation arm. Pay particular attention when putting back together. Clean like this at least once every month.
Very good job with the video BUT you must understand and learn the difference of cleaning and sanitizing. Everything you did was good but you have to use a form of disinfectant like vinegar to kill any bacteria / mold. Also if you’re going through the trouble of taking things apart you should also clean all the dust inside to help the machine work at optimal performance. Dust can block surface to air on the condenser / evaporator etc.
the plastic tube is prone to cracking and leaking. your method of pressing down on it will only accelerate the eventual cracking and leaking problem and then you'll need to take it apart again and replace the tube
After you turned the unit upside down did you give two days for everything to settle ?you turn it upside down, it can damage it if you don’t give it enough time to settle
I used vinegar and water solution to clean mine. When I was emptying the solution from the ice maker a blue liquid came from the back inside tray. Is this normal? Is it safe to finish cleaning and use?
Thank you so much for posting this. I was afraid to take mine apart without instruction. My ice maker is so clean now!😊
I just finished using this video to clean my own! We couldn't even use it because of how gross it got. Thank you so much for posting this!
😊 Thank you so much! This was wonderful.

Nice vid, but won't aloe vera cause problems?

I want to give a warning!!!!! when you take off the back cover, be VERY careful. I sliced my finger open badly on the metal back part.
Sick video
I’m hoping this will work for me, I believe I need to replace the switches because the water reservoir tray isn’t moving properly.
Really, I cannot possibly(even if I pause it) remember all the parts and screws. It’s easier to just buy a new one.
The ads was a huge turn off! thumbs down!
