Most Post Apocalypse songs are usually hardcore or go full on with the "Survival isn't easy" message, which is good, but it's so refreshing to hear a more somber take on the idea of apocalypse. Because it's a really sad narrative when you think about it.

Love how the protagonist progresses here. In “Evolve” on the island, it was just about survival and the uncertainty on whether or not he could do it, but he wasn’t going to back down. On scorched earth, he’s more sure of himself in his abilities and knows he can conquer this ARK. By aberration, the protagonist recognizes the threat in front of him and increasing danger, but isn’t just focused on survival anymore; he knows there’s secrets to uncover here. Fast forward to extinction and the prospect of just surviving is gone, now all that matters is learning the truth and avenging humanity’s remnants. Really well done
I didn't really think that all of these were following one protagonist, but I think you're very very right about that. Idk how I didn't pick up on it. Continuing to Genesis 1, it seems like our protag has gone from desperate survivor trying to uncover secrets to a fed-up badass who just wants to stop having to save everyone. Genesis 2 the whole song is like them hyping themselves and their team up for what they know will be, for better or worse, their final and most difficult fight. There's a heavy tiredness to Genesis 2 but also an excitement, the excitement of the man's last hurrah.
