- Dr N Rajam, is a legend of the violin in India. In this performance she plays duet with another virtuoso violinist- daughter Sangeeta Shanker with support from granddaughter violinists Ragini and Nandini Shanker. They are accompanied by the very able Ram Kumar Mishra on Tabla

For last fifty years I am a great admirer and learner of Dr. Rajam .She has created a gharana of violin.The gayaki angha. Many decades she will be followed by all violinists.Let God give her longest life.

Without "Mithas Benarasi" in Tabla, the Violin of Dr.Ragam will not open properly. Here in Tabla we find the full flavour of Mithas Benarasi, Lt.Pt.Anokhelal ji is reborn here in form of his Grandson.

isnt it true that Rajam ji plays only a few ragas.......Yaman Kalyan never Sham kalyan , Bagesgri nvr Rageshri, Darbari kanada nvr Nayaki kanada, Jaijivanthi nvr madhuvant, Malkons nver Chandrakuns, Ghorak kalyan nvr Bhoop Kalyan, Ji njoti nvr Saraswati, Miyaki thodi nvr Bilaskani thodi, etc....Y ?

A silly innuendo at best. This is an example how the unfortunate unmusical people are reduced to just plain idle gossip - while the great maestro reaches the great musical heights.

@ Vishnu Shanbhogue --> What a bogus comment ! ...... she has an LP Record on Darbari, AIR used to air her Mian-ki-Todi a hundred times, Madhuvanti - I've heard a few times at BHU, Bilaskhani Todi is one of her favourite ragas, Malkaus, Jaijavanti, Jhinjhoti & Bageshree are found in RUclips itself. ....... Further, an artiste may have personal likings for some ragas. Great Ustad Amir Khan did not like Kirwani, Bhairavi etc. for performance. ....... Don't belittle an artiste unnecessarily.
