Would be cool to know the history of that synth. That preset breakout is something Yellow Magic Orchestra would do to simplify and control it from a distance in a live setting, as you said
I wouldn’t be an analogue synth fix unless you get that mysterious fault right near the end of the process that absolutely stumps you and takes you three additional weeks to find, diagnose and fix. Yay. 😅

Thanks for documenting your repair. One day i will need to service my SH-2000, it works but some presets are very quiet.
