I really want to look forward to this movie, especially since I loved James Gunn's work in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and also Suicide Squad was a lot of fun. What has me worried from the trailer is that with all the extra side-characters, your Krypto, your Justice League (Society?), your big-ass dragon, I'm worried there will be maybe too many moving parts to tell a cohesive story. I'm probably wrong, if anyone can get it right, it's Gunn, but I'm really not sure what tone to expect here. Anyway, fingers crossed, waiting for this release.
Like I said, I hope my first impression is wrong. Just seems like a lot to include in the first teaser. Imagine what they might have left to reveal in a full trailer.
I think all the heroes will be corporate (guy gardener etc) or monsters (creature commandos) but superman will be the first true superhero - fighting for what is right rather than a corporation or government. And this will inspire future heroes, so he’s not the first superhero in the world but the first one who represents being a hero
Just because he can't be hurt by it, doesn't mean he can't feel it or be startled by someone doing that to him. We'll see how it plays out in the movie.
Buddy, it's not a flinch of physical harm. It's a flinch of emotional harm because who likes when people throw their trash at you out of hate for you. Y'all proving that Superman is highly understood today. He is a man with nearly God like power but all he wants is to be like the people he protects. All he wants is to be a normal man living a normal life. Just like how he experienced the Kent's that raised him. But he is so powerful that he can never be a mere man. *Way* too many people are *way* too fixated on he's a strong guy that punches other strong guys.
I was really sceptical before the trailer and after watching it I'm actually really excited about it. It looks like they've ditched the darker tones and that is a good thing for Superman.
A lot of things that concern me. But as long as it hit me in the feels. In today's world, we need hope. We need optimism. We need that unwavering sense of kindness and compassion, that feeling that even with all the darkness, someone good will do the right thing just because it's right. We need a symbol that lifts us up, inspires us, and never gives up on us. We need more than a hero. We need a super hero.
1:35 If you notice, all of the other super-people are wearing similar costumes. I think Superman stands out because he's the only superperson that's neither controlled by the government (like the Creature Commandos) nor a part of a team (like the Justice League). So he has the freedom to actually help and take care of people, wich the other superpeople do not. Also, that big orb in the back is probably Solaris, an artificial Sun that just hates Superman and in the comic James Gunn is taking inspiration from, Solaris actually teams up with Luthor to kill Superman because they both just fucking hate him.
Yes, I'm not the only one who thought that was hilarious. If only that actually happened in the movie. Just a really good Superman movie and then one scene that is just a joke.
A trailer only shows so much, but James Gunn appears to be the first director since Richard Donner - rest his soul - who actually understands, admires, and respects the character and what he represents to so many people - even today.
Superman stands for hope, truth, justice, and heroism. I have faith in James Gunn and his track record of balancing fan service and faithful adaption to the comics. Superman has always been my favorite superhero. the first DC superhero. Coming to earth with the power of a God and instead of using his power for global dominance, he chooses to use his power for good. To be earth's protector. This is the Superman movie I've always wanted!
Thank you Jeremy for being balanced in your optimistic reaction to the trailer, along with the questions it leaves you with. Much more refreshing than the two extremes of either shitting on it because “meh! It’s not Cavill, so I’m throwing a tantrum, meh!!” or shilling for it melodramatically in order to retain coveted “access” like I’ve seen in other reaction videos.
YES!!! I'm out here saving humans as I type this, because of this trailer. This is how you present Superman!! We have not had a comic accurate Superman on the big screen since 1980 (Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve). That's 44 years, very tragic for DC fans. Humans who don't read Superman comics, have no idea how he's supoosed to be, the movies have been messing him up, and it breaks my heart. The King, The Original Superhero, the Daddy of them all is finally here, and as a life long Superman fan, Terrance can't wait. TERRANCE OUT
I cried watching the trailer. It's like the comics from my uncle and grandfather's stash were being used as storyboards, and how to present an actual hero character. Krypto has his moment to save his person! This looks so damn good, and Terrence, I'm so happy I am on the right side of this when I see you showcasing the failure of cinematic comic book stories over forty years.
@TheCamBeard What kind of laughable question is that? Have you read Superman comics? Superman is not supoosed to be dark and serious, he's not Batman. Superman is supposed to represent hope, and he should be a man of the humans. Not some non smiling, neck snappin, doesn't have a difference between his Clark Kent and Superman, letting his father die character. TERRANCE OUT
@@Mrikeepgettinmoneyagain 🤣Another laughable, fake DC fan speaks. I've read more Superman comics than you can Google. Miss me with your missing brain cells. TERRANCE OUT
I think they look good enough, but the fact this movie will feature 25 different superheroes and who knows how many villains besides Superman and Lex, that is a very negative sign. Looks messy to say the least
This teaser did exactly what a teaser is supposed to do. It shows us a lot without telling us too much about the plot. The shot of Superman saving the little girl gave me chills. Looks good so far!
this movie got me excited to be a comic book fan again. never really liked superman like that but this movie might change things a bit. batman has always been my goat but i can see him sharing the light in my eyes with his fellow leaguer
Totally understand this critique, but I’m optimistic because it’s Gunn. He did a great job with Guardians, so I trust him to juggle multiple side characters
@@skybrotha1042 Oh I have no doubt something will happen to him, a moment of danger that triggers Superman's rage, but that's vastly different than killing him, which I do not think they will do.
I am so glad they're just dropping us into an established world of heroes and villains. It will make the universe feel more lived in. One of the biggest problems I always have is when the superhero universe starts at the beginning, they always feel like they're playing catch up
I remember when I watched the trailer this morning and it got to the part in the thumbnail I thought “man, this guy looks exactly like Nathan Fillion” And lo and behold, two scenes later, Nathan Fillion appears.
The trailer has me so hyped for this movie! The soundtrack, Krypto, Clark Kent, giving both optimism and nostalgia. My only fear is that I hope it's not too overcrowded. They showed so many characters and I hope between all those, the magic of Superman isn't lost
superman finally feels like a hero. for the longest time they were going for this god complex with him and it just didnt work. thank god they showed him saving people. im so sick of my superheros killing people lol
If you're referring to Superman killing Zod in MOS... honestly I fail to see how there was any other way that scenario could've been resolved before Zod destroyed the whole planet
@TheTruMan196 the point is that superman isn't ever supposed to see that as an option. and it wasn't just superman. every superhero whether it's DC or marvel just happens to also kill people. batman killed pretty much everyone he fought in the old dcu. it's not very heroic when vigilantes are playing god with peoples lives
You sure you don't want to whine and complain about him being defeated and broken? I thought that was too "edgy" and "broody" and not "optimistic" enough. I guess it's magically ok when James Gunn does it, right?
@@NatePilgrim I just think it's funny, because "fans" cried and threw fits whenever Superman was in pain or didn't smile in Man of Steel. Superman being human, and not just grinning like a dope 24/7, was apparently seen as a bad thing until right now. That's hilarious.
Nicholas Hoult is one of those few child actors that not only didn’t become a drug addict weirdo, but also remained a consistently good and present actor. Fair play to him
I don’t think it’s a flinch of pain, it’s more like an emotional pain. He’s indestructible but he’ll still feel something being thrown at him in the midst of an angry crowd.
From the beginning of the leaks with the filming with him in the suit, I found him to actually have the looks for the part really well honestly. I hope they deliver with a good plot, characters and pacing.
I have a bad feeling that kiss may be a dream sequence sort of thing. Although, on a brighter note, I saw that Nicholas Hoult was on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast. So I will assume that torches were passed, blessings were given. All that good stuff. Oh and puppy, so . . . 👍

I honestly was thinking the same thing and wondering if he would it up in 2 movies.
The Incredibles had quite a few heroes and characters but the focus was always on the Parr family. Superman will be the same.
They’re just side characters. Every movie has those
Like I said, I hope my first impression is wrong. Just seems like a lot to include in the first teaser. Imagine what they might have left to reveal in a full trailer.
Man, you have WAY too much faith in him.
0:50 “….or the rest of us men” hit a little to close to home with this joke
Same
The Destiny reference to Warlord's Ruin was peak
I think all the heroes will be corporate (guy gardener etc) or monsters (creature commandos) but superman will be the first true superhero - fighting for what is right rather than a corporation or government. And this will inspire future heroes, so he’s not the first superhero in the world but the first one who represents being a hero
1:45
That's not Guy Gardner that's Harry's dumb friend Lloyd from 'Dumb and Dumber' with that haircut 💈
😂😂brooooo hahahahhahaha
We gonna talk about Superman flinching at an aluminum can thrown at his noggin', after taking a bullet to the eye like it was a soft breeze?
Thank you! Feel like I’m the only one laughing at this
Just because he can't be hurt by it, doesn't mean he can't feel it or be startled by someone doing that to him. We'll see how it plays out in the movie.
Don't mix Returns with this one
I didn't see him FLINCH. His head just slightly moved 😅
I predict that Krypto plushies will be super popular next year!
Been waiting for this.
Who has been waiting all day for this? 🙋🏽♂️
me bruh me
Ive been waiting all week
I been waiting since Gunn took over
Needing another man's opinion that bad you actually " waited all day " for it? Lol yikes. Your father raised you to be like that?
Yup
I won't get my hopes up. But in terms of trailers, it was perfect
2:16 This is the last couple of minutes of the movie same as when Spiderman partially fought Rhino at the end of Amazing spiderman 2.
I will say that was the best Yamcha impersonation I've ever seen by an almost god like being
Man of steel trailer hit harder for me.
This looks alrt...more fanmade
@@arthurguillen8432 I disagree.... Fan made would have beeen smart tough to keep krypto out of it.
Really liked the teaser. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Looks good to me! Kinda surprised to see so much online hate over it to be honest. Looks far better than the snyderverse gods amongst us films.
This video is a master class on how to make a video about a trailer without making a video about a trailer.
Saving tee little girl was wise. The superhero genre has been so undermined that you have to show that the hero does good things; it is not assumed.
It looks like they're having fun with it, and that's the kind of Superman movie we need.
No we don't
@@devilman7670 ME HATE FUN. Cry about it Snyder bro.
"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a-"
Poomf!
"...falling rock."
That got me laughing😂
damn the "where we stand" line....man honestly your humor is so perfect 🤣🤣🤣🤣
3:52 is *LOL!*
DC looks like we finally headed in the right direction
How was Man of Steel not comic accurate, in your opinion?
@@TheCamBeardhe couldn’t tell you bc he doesn’t read comics nor does he care about Superman
TERRANCE OUT
Actor who plays Superman looks like a dork in cosplay 😂 and Lex Luthor looks more like Agent 47.
I think they look good enough, but the fact this movie will feature 25 different superheroes and who knows how many villains besides Superman and Lex, that is a very negative sign. Looks messy to say the least
2:51 is that richard ayoade? 😂
Lol
Superman got whooped so bad he struck the Yamaha pose lol
This teaser did exactly what a teaser is supposed to do. It shows us a lot without telling us too much about the plot. The shot of Superman saving the little girl gave me chills. Looks good so far!
this movie got me excited to be a comic book fan again. never really liked superman like that but this movie might change things a bit. batman has always been my goat but i can see him sharing the light in my eyes with his fellow leaguer
that haircut on guy gardner is proper, thank the lord lol i love it
To me, feels like gonna be 3hrs of getting the kitchen sink thrown at me.
Totally understand this critique, but I’m optimistic because it’s Gunn. He did a great job with Guardians, so I trust him to juggle multiple side characters
Thank you. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. But I've underestimated Gunn before, and he comes through. We'll see.
James Gunn has his strengths but also his faults.
Clark kent channeling his inner Richard Ayoade!😂
Superman stands for Hope. And this trailer already depicted it perfectly. In tears
KRYPTO!!!!! ‘Nuff said.
Oh. Just a thought. They better not kill that dog and turn Supes into John Wick. 😂
If anything happens to Krypto, I will go full John Wick on James Gunn 😂😂
Yes, the cast is chock full of heroes and villains (possibly too many), so it's fine to kill off a few, but Krypto is fucking off limits! :)
Something will definitely happen to him, it’s literally free outrage
He suffers a horrible and painful death like John Wick's dog
@@skybrotha1042 Oh I have no doubt something will happen to him, a moment of danger that triggers Superman's rage, but that's vastly different than killing him, which I do not think they will do.
@@SoCalFreelance I'm afraid you're confusing this with the Snyderverse... ;)
Krypto looks so cute love his little cape
Exactly the reaction Gunn wanted
Womp womp
I am so glad they're just dropping us into an established world of heroes and villains. It will make the universe feel more lived in. One of the biggest problems I always have is when the superhero universe starts at the beginning, they always feel like they're playing catch up
A return to form for movie trailers. Show enough to get hype, but not enough that we know anything about the story. Bravo James Gunn. Bravo!
They got rid of Henry for this guy?
Get rid of that guy and get Henry back!!!!!!!!!
I remember when I watched the trailer this morning and it got to the part in the thumbnail I thought “man, this guy looks exactly like Nathan Fillion”
And lo and behold, two scenes later, Nathan Fillion appears.
The trailer has me so hyped for this movie! The soundtrack, Krypto, Clark Kent, giving both optimism and nostalgia. My only fear is that I hope it's not too overcrowded. They showed so many characters and I hope between all those, the magic of Superman isn't lost
Do Karate Kid: Legends!
I can already picture the Superman Yamcha memes😂
superman finally feels like a hero. for the longest time they were going for this god complex with him and it just didnt work. thank god they showed him saving people. im so sick of my superheros killing people lol
Man Of Steel is underrated.
If you're referring to Superman killing Zod in MOS... honestly I fail to see how there was any other way that scenario could've been resolved before Zod destroyed the whole planet
@@TheTruMan196they dont care they low iq
In bvs superman had a whole montage of saving people lmao
@TheTruMan196 the point is that superman isn't ever supposed to see that as an option. and it wasn't just superman. every superhero whether it's DC or marvel just happens to also kill people. batman killed pretty much everyone he fought in the old dcu. it's not very heroic when vigilantes are playing god with peoples lives
People always complain about Superman being boring, because he is invulnerable. Showing him defeated and broken in the trailer was a genius move.
You sure you don't want to whine and complain about him being defeated and broken? I thought that was too "edgy" and "broody" and not "optimistic" enough. I guess it's magically ok when James Gunn does it, right?
If it took that scene for people to think otherwise, then they don't know Superman let alone common sense.
@@octogigas who are You fighting with, kid. Everything ok at Home?
@@NatePilgrim I just think it's funny, because "fans" cried and threw fits whenever Superman was in pain or didn't smile in Man of Steel. Superman being human, and not just grinning like a dope 24/7, was apparently seen as a bad thing until right now. That's hilarious.
Superman giving off Blue Lantern energy. Love to see it!
Nicholas Hoult is one of those few child actors that not only didn’t become a drug addict weirdo, but also remained a consistently good and present actor. Fair play to him
I am SO READY!!!!
No point getting the hopes up, remember this is DC and WB we're talking about...
And kid diddler Gunn
@@theraVen27shhhh, don’t say that. People will say “it’s in the past, long time ago” 😃😆🤣
The best movies of the MCU were Gunn's. He's the best we could ask for.
After seeing what Gunn did with The Suicide Squad despite it being under DC and WB, there’s plenty to be excited about.
My only problem is superman flinching from that beer can.
I don’t think it’s a flinch of pain, it’s more like an emotional pain. He’s indestructible but he’ll still feel something being thrown at him in the midst of an angry crowd.
3:17. I don’t think Jeremy has seen “My adventures with Superman” or “Superman and Lois.”
"My Adventures With Superman" was an INSULT to all us Superman lovers! That show was 100% wrong! Nothing in it was right!
@ like what?
@@colleen4everLIKE WHAT
From the beginning of the leaks with the filming with him in the suit, I found him to actually have the looks for the part really well honestly.
Oh and puppy, so . . . 👍
I guess I'm the only person who watched the trailer and was like, "No thanks."
I feel the same. The films going to be for children.
You haven't spent anytime reading comments here then, there's a few expressing spiteful opinions on a free to view trailer for a film they haven't even seen yet.
@@_thomas1031
Spiteful means being filled with or showing spite, which is a desire to cause pain or suffering to others, often for enjoyment. It is associated with malicious and mean-spirited behavior.
Apathetic means showing little or no interest, concern, or emotion about something. It describes a state of indifference where a person lacks motivation or enthusiasm, often in situations that typically require engagement.
The word you are looking for is apathetic, not spiteful.
