Really enjoyed meeting Ida, she’s a little cutie. 💖 My grandsons are 9 and 8 now and I think the world of them. At least you could get up off the floor, I’m afraid with my arthritis I’d be stranded 😊 When my sister takes me to Aldi, I’m always pleasantly surprised at how much the bill is as I normally have home deliveries from Morrisons. They are quite pricey! Take care see you on the next one 😘

I love playing shops with my two youngest granddaughters , there is only 6 months between them . They have their pennies to buy from my shop and then we swap. Hope you don’t mind me saying , but I have worn verifocal glasses for years and the better quality you get does really make a difference xx

Oh Lyn, you definitely do not look ‘scruffy’. You looked very glamorous in your wedding outfit 💖. I have learnt something today, I’ve worn varifocal glasses for years and have never been told this, how very 😢 strange. Ida is just so cute, I definitely miss those days but my 14 year old granddaughter visited last night and like you with Ida I love her to bits. Thank you for sharing 😊😊😊

Hello Lynn. Ida is adorable, such a sweetie🥰. I could see a resemblance. I am collecting new glasses tomorrow from Boots. I can't wear contact lenses either because of astigmatism. My varifocals are called their 'gold' standard, it is not the very top but pretty good. They showed me the difference between them and how it would affect my vision. Anyway £270 that is with 10% off as I am a pensioner. They were offering a second pair at half price so I am going to get some prescription sunglasses. They offer 3 monthly payments with Klarna.
It looks as though Aldi is cheaper for some things, but about the same as Tesco for others. Take care and hope to see you on Friday♥️

Hi Lynne. I did know about the difference in varifocal lens, mostly due to the eye watering prices. Due to my sight problems I have top of the range ones. Interestingly I recently went to a national
super market who have an opticians department. They are well know for selling much cheaper specs. I selected several pairs and asked the price of them with varifocals lens. The very nice lady serving asked to see my prescription and a look at the specs I was wearing. She said they only issue cheaper lens and I would certainly notice the difference. So kind of her to tell me and save me money. I’m due to have an eye test soon so need to save up if I need a new prescription. Saw some frames I like ….£170 😮 before I even start on the lens. Lovely to see Ida. I know you treasure the time spent with her.x❤
This glasses thing, and lenses is a mine field, who knew, I’ve never been told that before, and it was only a passing remark from her that I found out this time. I payed nearly £300 for my frames, so with the lenses at £185, it’s an expensive day hahaha x ❤️🌹❤️

I do believe if you freeze bread before using it it doesn’t raise your blood sugar as much

Hi Lynn great video as always. The glasses Omg they should have informed you about the better lenses. My glasses are always expensive because of the glasses and I always am informed about the improvements and am advised accordingly. Hope the new lenses suit you better. Wedding outfit looked fab

Sweet little Ida,they grow up so fast.After wearing glasses for 75 years I learned something new today,I wonder why optometrists don’t tell you these things.I have been paying between $500-1000 for years now,I get progressives,which I would guess is the same as varilenes.I have reading glasses too,as they work better than progressives,I also have astigmatism,but I don’t have a problem with the readers.I use an ophthalmologist,then go to an optician for the glasses,I feel that way as he doesn’t sell glasses that he will not change your prescription if you don’t really need it.For many years of our lives our eyes don’t really change,and I hear people saying they get a new prescription every year,or two.i haven’t had a prescription change in quite a few years.❤😊❤

Hi Lynn responding to the glasses situation. A few years ago it also became known to me that there were better lenses. As far as I understand the best lenses give you the best peripheral vision and hence less distortion.
I worked in financial sales and always viewed my job to advise clients on the best products to suit their needs and then it was up to them to choose but at least they had been informed.
I also worked with colleagues who in my opinion went for the cheap option and their clients were less well protected.
Eye sight is so so important to me and probably to you too so I have told my story many times when friends have been less well informed.

Yes that’s what the man said at the opticians, so why I wasn’t given the option with these lenses I don’t know. Thank you for sharing this information with me Judith, if only there were more people in the world like you, sadly good customer service is a thing of the past I’m afraid ❤️

Oh I treasure every moment, we just play and play. I waited a long time for Ida, and we all adore her. My Aldi and Tesco are next door to each other, so it’s no bother to go to both. Ahhhh thanks Sandra, I do like a mish mash myself ❤️🌹❤️

I love the aldi concept first shopped with them about 40 yrs ago! We fo not have a Tesco or Sainsbury just Asda/Morrison/Waitrose plus Aldi & Lidl. Always used to shop in T but yes they are dearer!
Cute little Ida. Takes me back a few years to when my grandaughters were young - they are 19 & 10 now. Grandsons are 11, 15 & 15. Not twins - daughters were pregnant at similar time😂

I do go to Aldi occasionally as I like some of their stuff but never buy fruit or Vegetables . If you don’t use them fast they go off very quickly I’ve always found. The best place for glasses is Costco they only use the best lenses on choice. And for me there is a huge difference. I didn’t go last time but the place I went said they’d use a compatible lens but they’re not half as sharp and cost me more just on £500. Ida is so cute love that age chatting away . X

Lovely vlog Lynn… we got virtually the same Aldi shopping, 😮 burgers are tasty cooked in air fryer, I also tried their rice cakes… ate them ALL in 2 days!!!! Miss piggy me 😅I buy their basa fish, really tasty, & the tomatoes are the best ones around! Don’t know what’s going off with toms this year complete washout!!
Those pants from Tesco are brilliant got my mum some for a wedding outfit, she loved them, she looked proper posh for 93! Hi, thank you for introducing Ida she is adorable , what memories we make with them , our grandchildren are now grown up but we are so lucky to have 2 greatgrandchildren . sorry to hear you are having problems with your glasses, I also have astigmatism in my right eye but I was lucky enough to have single vision contact lenses for over 30 years i went through the whole range , hard ones gas permiable and soft ones. I never had varifocal lenses as more or less as they cam in I had problems with the retina so reverted to varifocal glasses, not had any problems with those but I suppose I was lucky in that I was advised to buy a better quality lens. strangely I am managing without glasses at the moment as I had cataract removal op 6 weeks ago, and my sight is amazing, can't wait to get the other eye done in August, they say I will still need some sort of varifocal lens .but they wont be as stong as I have now. I do hope you get sorted soon , looking forward to seeing Ida again .take care x

Loved this Lynn, Ida is adorable, too cute. I loved playing shops with my great niece Eilidh when she was little, she is ten now so no more playing shops 😂 Her young brother Ruaridh is three, he is not into playing shops but he plays a pretend gardener when he comes to mine, too cute. Lynn I have wore varifocals for around 15 years. I have always paid around £300 -£400 , the clarity is far superior and I always get transition lenses so I don’t need prescription sunglasses, they automatically go dark in the sunlight, loved your outfit for the wedding reception ❤xx
Aw she’s my world. She uses the window sill as her shop haha, and she does the beep beep, as she takes things out of the shopping trolley. I could watch her for hours. I payed £300 for my frames but the lenses were free, nobody said I could have better ones, I dont understand why. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses that I keep in the car mostly. Thank you ❤️

Hi Lynn, Ida is a peach. I used to play hairdressers and ice cream shop with my granddaughter when she was 3. Such special times. Fills my heart with joy ❤ I was intrigued to hear about your glasses, usually they are trying to sell you the most expensive in the shop. I have varifocals but a cataract has started. Not bad at the moment however I am sure it will progress. My glasses are with Zeiss lens. My hubby said they are part of your face and therefore I should try to afford the best. Not easy sometimes, have palpitations when they tell me the price haha. So you saved money on your Aldi shop and then purchased a pair of trousers, honestly as bad as me😂. My only vice so why not!! Very pretty opus, I want to make as many memories with her as I can, I adore her. Yes I have a cataract too, but like you not bad enough to treat. I kinda went off the advice on the opticians so I hope he was right. I’m a lost cause with clothes Tina, but like you it’s m only vice so we’ve worked hard enough, retirement is for enjoying ourselves lol. Take care yourself lovely lady ❤️🌹❤️

Hello Lynn, another lovely video, I love the way you keep it real. Ida is a little poppet, in her make believe shop and kitchen, and Nana did very well getting up off the floor😂. Hope your new glasses work better for you, I had to experiment with two or three different lenses, and still went back to separate readers, for reading only though, good luck. I shop at Aldi, and also Tesco, I find that between the two I find all I need. I had to giggle when you bought ‘ pretty ‘ pegs, 😂. Bonnie colours. Have a good rest of the week. Bye for now, x❤

Oh wow! That’s s much money, I payed £300 for my frames, and my lenses will be £185, so all in all that’s not bad in comparison ❤️🌹❤️

I enjoy it when you go shopping for groceries as i like to compare to our prices to yours. We do have Aldi but they sell different brands to yours but i think you pay less for your items than we pay. Love playing shops with my granddaughters when they were younger they would play like Ida does with you and now they are older we have money and credit cards etc etc. So you will have many more years of shop playing yet. 😀
You would think that the prices would be the same worldwide wouldn’t you. My son says he’s going to get her a check out thing like the supermarkets where it bleeps hahaha she’ll love it. Oh she tell me how I should hold her babies properly hahaha 🌹❤️🌹

Hi Lynn, this is my 1ST ever Comment & hoped it worked, but NO!!! Think I keep deleting it. It's now much shorter!! I was told by Specsavers I couldn't use Contacts due to astigmatism (rugby ball shaped cornea). For a different reason changed to Asda Opticians 2yrs ago, have distance specs for driving & varifocal other times, don't wear specs all day. Also now wear Contacts when I feel like it, Tori (I think this indicates rugby ball shape), right eye near & left distance, thought this would be strange but it isn't. Asda had no hesitation prescribing, also varifocals MUCH cheaper than you quote although they don't have a large choice. Luckily I can afford more expensive specs if I wanted but I'm happy with Asda at present. Maybe you could enquire at a different Optician.
Hi Jacqui, oh noooo I wonder how that happened? Mine are already ordered Jacqui so it’s too late for me now, but I will certainly shop around the next time my eyes need testing, I can’t believe what a mine field it is, who knew, so may differences in opticians. ❤️🌹❤️

When you’ve done Tesco hauls in the past I’ve thought the prices for some things are much more expensive than Aldi and even Sainsbury’s
( I shop between the 2) although I did go to Asda on Monday and bought lots of fruit, veg and salad items 🙏 that the nice weather continues. Take care until the next one ❤.
Thank you Sandra, I realised how much cheaper Aldi was with this shop, and if I’m honest the produce looked so much better quality. I will be making Aldi my main shop, and then fill in at Tesco. Hopefully we will get a chance to wear our sunglasses ❤️🌹❤️

Hi Lynn, little Ida is beautiful, and so cute. You have to cherish these years, as before you know it they are all grown up. I have 2 pairs of glasses as I can't wear varifocals because of my rugby balls, and I prefer them. Only wear the readers for reading and when on my phone or laptop. Welcome to the channel Susan, nice to meet you. My tea started to taste a bit funny, and I knew I had a spare kettle, so I brought it out to use it. Then I realised that the first kettle needed descaling, so I got the stuff, cleaned it, boiled it a few times, and it’s fine again, but I never put the spare kettle back in its place, but I will do now hahaha.
