I see the dance parents having some fun at the recital, after having spent so much time driving the kids to and from dance classes, watching the classes in the wings, cheering at performances, travelling along to competitions, Bedazzling their costumes, and putting up with a whole lot of abuse from Abby, aimed at both themselves and their children. Did Jill and Mr. Vertes dance as well as Kendall and the other ALDC dancers can dance? No, of course not, but it was a perfectly fine tango for what it was, and everyone else thought that crowning Jill was funny.
