I am so excited, I love Ironmace, they truly are one of the best dev teams oout there, they still got the passion, heart and will. They love the game as much as we do, they want to make it great. Can't wait for the randomized dungeons and fog of war, gonna feel so good to explore the unknown
The sorcerer looks like the crossed Skyrim spell casting style with Fables spell combining. Gonna be busted. I wonder if their spell cooldown will be affected by Resourcefulness or Will or Knowledge? I hope their Agility will be below 14 since they can cast spells without weapons, they'll be harder to catch than a naked wizard with a spellbook. Considering they have a wind knockback spell and a summon, they'll be nigh impossible to catch, and it looks like they have a summon sword spell, so they can actually fight back in melee.
In theory this could take place since the video example was an epic gem, in theory there are legendary and unique gems, curious if they could roll stats higher than original.
While unarmed casting makes for more movespeed metaslaving, at the same time, a mixture of cooldown and casting times mixed with aiming during animations during combos, makes the class inherently more approachable and counterplay-able. The major issue with druid and warlock was either the complete inability for other classes to do ANYTHING, or just taking unreactable turbo burst, like release stat panther.
Intrigued to see sorcerer operates on cooldowns rather than charges, might be tempted to try him as I despise wizards charges and need for meditate or campfires. Account bound questing puts a smile on my face, might be able to finish a quest line since I character swap so much. Pirate map looks cool, need gameplay for practical use. Gem socketing I'm still iffy on, but it's not as bad as I was expecting given it's just rerolling a stat roll rather than further buffing it. Sad to see the free gold pile on crypts go, partially wishing it was ghost king over litch.
i do have one question. so for the people who bought the ( hold the line ) edition should we not be able to test the new stuff. beouse since they do new stuff we cant even try it out like the druid ? or do i miss something here ?
Guys I'm a sorcerer main. But I predict that since they cast with nothing in their hands that they will do very little damage. Since they have no free magic damage from something like a spellbook
Me and my friends are very wary of the gem socketing system. A lot of us already left after the patch that increased the chances of getting good loot. Felt like we couldn't really start the game because every single person in the dungeon had legendary gear that had decent rolls. IMO it was very bad to just be able to find legendaries in a normal chest. I would have increased the chances of really good loot in Lion/Gold chests and on bosses so people could still get really good loot but they'd have to fight over it. So if it turns into everyone quickly getting bis legendary/epic gear it might be very hard to start up the game if you haven't been playing since the start every day. And I say this as a player that might get to play 1-2 hours every other day. Other than that sorceror looks sick and I love summons, so I hope he'll be cool.
Play norms, you can get some really good gear from there that you can then use for high roller. What you're suggesting will do the opposite of what you want. Sweats will always have the most gear, making gear rarer will just restrict it to only the sweaty players whilst newer ones are stuck in greens

When I saw some images of the new map I thought it was amazing. With that there will definitely be new monsters and new bosses. Anyway it's all great, I love Dark and Darker. Its 100% because its an issue the devs havent understood yet; just like bunnyhopping was for the longest time. SDF just needs to get deleted a few times by desync blocking barb to realise whats wrong lol
My expectation is that Sorcerer will be on the aforementioned power level like Druid is, and they'll say that they'll buff other classes to match their power. Of course that's not going to work out well because Ironmace can't balance but that's what I imagine the narrative to be

Sorc is going to be super fun but ultimately will permanently worsen the game for everybody (as is tradition). It's kind of Ironmace's go-to game design at this point. Make something that's fun in a bubble without taking into consideration the bigger picture.
I dont really like this trend of summons.I didn't like hydra, I don't like the ent and now this. I prefer utilies like door lock and such for hindering players along with traps. Same with things like light orb for revealing. I'd rather they leaned more into this than just "oh here's another summon".

not a fan of random modules personally, the game isn't a new mysterious thing everyone is trash at anymore, it just means new players are never gonna be able to make enough money to play in high roller cuz they wont be able to farm bosses, they'll be forced into fights they don't wanna take against better players and rogues are gonna be a joke again
I do agree with this sentiment and hope IM will add more utility and melee mechanics to combat the advantages of range damage. This is probably not something we will see for a while though unfortunately.
speaking of rez, I'd love to see druid have that ability. Playing supp in trios feels like you have to play cleric and makes druid always feel like the inferior option another wild idea: allow warlock to temporarily rez an "undead" version of their fallen teammate with limited attacks etc before they die fully

The temp res does sound cool not gonna lie, that would be awesome, but how long would it last and how long would it take to cast? If its duration is in the minutes, that'd be too strong since you could find a res table in that time or potentially extract/deep dive or kill the enemy team outright, or would they not be allowed to extract/deep dive while temp ressed, maybe they'd only get ressed with a portion of their HP and not be allowed to heal? Theres too many variables. If the cast time is too short, it'll be far too strong in combat, if it's too long to cast and the res duration isnt that long, what's the point. Aside from maybe having them run to a known res table so you dont have to run back to the body. It would also be too strong for warlock, and more importantly warlock isnt a necromancer. It could be cool on druid though, like a plant infested temp res? Idk.

The necromancer spell would have to be undertuned to make it a fun/unique option but not required while also providing counter-play opportunity. There would need to be time for the enemy to counter imo. Another thing is they'd be unable to extract, since they are not alive after all.
Why not make Chiv 2 like combat. I m tired of this brainless melee combat they got going on. what about quivers. what about actual unique looking armors instead of fortnite coloring books what about spell/bow readiness exhaustion (you cannot hold a spell or bowstring indefinitely )
Probably still not coming back to this garbage game. It fell off super hard. POE2 has only been out a week and its so much better and their dev team actually cares about their game. They also, from POE1 do not keep players hanging. If they say they are going to do something that what happens. I hate IM they are a crappy dev team and most of this should have been done before releasing the game almost a year ago.
they need to make mdr gear have static attributes nerf druid panther/bear scaling and damage by a lot, nerf wizard fireball splash, magic missile and casting speed nerf longbow damage or make longbow a lot slower to shoot

I could definitely see the casting mechanic being a bit too strong to start but I can't say much until I try it - I do hope above all it is fun though

Randomized modules are HUGE
I suspect balancing spells around cooldowns is much easier than through damage/charges, so I'm fairly hopeful that Sorcerer won't be broken on launch.

@@ryan6daysaweek Movespeed is king of course, but you're sacrificing a whole ton of flat magic damage and 4-5 affixes for not having a spellbook.

There are gear score brackets so u can play normals until 124 or hr until 224 and get ur own bis there which u can use for uncapped hr
