FYI; the strobe brightness can be adjusted by holding down the soft button while the unit is flashing. It starts at the highest brightness unlike the normal mode and cycles down. Great review. I’ve had mine for about three years and mostly use it as an ir illuminator for my pvs 14. I put Velcro tape on the bottom of the clip and just slap it on the velco on my team Wendy when I need the light along with a dummy cord. Very low profile and surprisingly solid mount.
What system do u hav holding ur Howard’s ? I got 3m arc rails but they always slide off so I gotta be careful putting on my helmet do you have the same issue?
My PVS-14 illuminator is much brighter than the Sidewinder Compact II in infrared mode. The RWB colors are also pretty dim. Consider the Sidewinder Compact II a map light, nothing more. So I sent this toy back for a refund, and then I bought a REAL light.
Great video, thanks. I do have one question. Does that adaptor you were using work with a picatinny rail, or would another type of adaptor have to be purchased? Thanks again
Sadly, this thing has been around for yeaaarsss... Old bulb technology, i wish they would upgrade this to 1000 lumens and using high capacity battery. Best design, but nitecore had far better tech
I definitely agree there I think what contributes to it not getting upgraded as much is how small the night vision community is on the civilian side of things
Does it have some kind of lock function so that any of the light modes don’t turn on accidentally in a pouch and drain the battery?

Oh gotcha thanks for the heads up I will have to try that out next time for brightness, and good call on the Velcro!
seems like it has the same very narrow beam pattern on the white setting, very similar to the ProTac90
It is very similar yes
Top notch review! Excellent job thank you
Thank you for watching!

Ya I will agree it’s definitely lacking a little bit
used this in Afghanistan great light sucks I forgot it in my coffin rack when I EAS'd
Thanks so much for the data point man I keep hearing that. It’s cool that it actual holds up well in a real world situation 🤙🏻

Unfortunately you would need another adapter for that set up, thanks for watching I’m glad you found the video helpful!
You should've seen me with my sidewinder 1 on my mich helmet when I was in the Marines. Goofy af
Ooof that was probably rough like a little brick hanging off your head 😂😂 aside from that did the light work well when you were in?
@@FirearmFreedom yea I still have mine haha

Probably because in a "tactical" setting, you don't need bright light, mostly just need a dull red. Save the high lume for a handheld.
