Hey there better than bouillion...what is the source of maltodextrin in your products? I really need gluten free. Not just sorta gluten free. Many products even have msg and are labeled gluten free. Thx B
Can I i just say I really appreciate how family friendly your cooking videos are. Not alot of people on RUclips are like that, but I watch you with my 5 and 3 year old nieces and they love you! (Even my 1 year old nephew likes you too). When I have children of my own, we'll definitely be watching your content on repeat!! (You are also incredibly smart when it comes to cooking and very well spoken.)
Thank you for doing family favorites! I love that you do both easy weeknight and fun “ultimate” recipes that are worth the hours and complexity. Keep up the balance in your videos!!
I actually love better than bullion! I use the chicken and the beef all the time. I also have the adobo. My real life friends just laugh at me for going on about better than bullion. So it’s nice to come here and find some kindred spirits😂
Man, seeing the title of this video made me realize I don't often see casseroles being covered on RUclips cooking content but they totally should be. To me, casseroles are comfort food. They're some of the first dishes I learned to make as a young uni student living on my own for the first time in my life. I shared a flat with three other students and we had a small kitchen so I couldn't count on the kitchen being free any time I wanted to cook something, but casseroles were great because they require very little active cooking time and yet the end result is usually pretty great, especially once you've made a dish many times and have fine-tuned the recipe to your specific taste. You could make them cheap if you were smart about the ingredients and then you'd have meals prepped for several days afterwards. Now, over 10 years later I still make casseroles pretty often, despite having my own kitchen and having more money to spend on food than I did as a student. It's just a great feeling putting that dish in the oven after a long day and knowing that you can take it easy for an hour or so and then you'll have a great, comforting plate of food in front of you.
The alghorithm pushes what hungry people crave. So cooking channels end up having to get more and more extreme into the unhealthy, over-the-top, "but better"-type videos to more time goes on, unless they are really creative.
I think part of it is that at least in American cooking, casseroles are sorta lowkey looked down upon for being basic, unattractive Midwestern cuisine that is hard to glamorize or make look impressive. Which is an unfortunate perception, because casseroles are, as you say, the GOAT in the kitchen for working adults.
I started using the Better Than Bouillon because of you! Now I use the roasted beef in so many things. It's funny to see them sponsoring you after you've mentioned them so often.
I love casseroles and these look fantastic! I will definitely try your Tuna Noodle casserole. A tuna noodle casserole actually saved my life in 1993. I made one the night that the Blizzard of ‘93 hit. There was so much snow, there wasn’t even a bump where my boxy 1983 Volvo DL was parked. No electricity for a week, but I had my tuna casserole, a couple bottles of wine, and some great books. It turned into a lovely break from work!
My favourite way to top tuna noodle casserole is to coarsely crush up some plain rippled chips (Old Dutch is my brand of choice) and sprinkle that on top, and then top that with a heavy load of grated cheddar. The chips act as a separator between the noodles and the cheese and means you can peel the whole thing off in one layer if you so choose and eat it at the end of your slice as a snack.
LOVE the BtB sponsorship! I've been using their stuff for years now to boost almost all of my cooking, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do to my homemade turkey stock in a couple of weeks!
We just made the Cheeseburger casserole and it was awesome! Probably my favorite casserole I've ever had! Even the next day it was still fantastic. Thanks for all you do Brian!
Hey Bri.....I've been watching you for a couple years and successfully made a few of your recipes. I thought I'd take a minute to let you know that I nailed the tuna casserole and it's a hit at our house. Can't wait to try the hamburger casserole. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and just being cool in general to watch.
Just made this tonight (tuna version). I messed up a few things and it still came out delicious. Can't wait to try the hamburger/stroganoff version! Much love to you and your team, Brian. Best cooking channel!
@@WillGosnold Ha! It's a classic "boxed dinner" in America, right up there with Rice-a-Roni and Kraft Mac & Cheese. I make a homemade version every now and then when it's cold out and I was something really easy and comforting. Glad y'all liked it.

Good stuff Brian! Can't go wrong with a mom casserole, even us dads can make them! I started using BTB products about five years ago and really like the flavors you can produce with their products, I say the Dude abides.
I used leftover roasted chicken, fresh mushrooms, half and half, butter, onion garlic, some herbs, organic spaghetti, lots of Parmesan and pecorino and made the best chicken tetrazzini I’ve ever had in my life..satisfying for winter! Got nice and crispy on top without being a tooth-breaker..
I had a craving for tuna casserole recently. My dad used to make it when I was in high school. I made it for my folks a couple weeks ago with the only substitution being frozen broccoli instead of peas in order to match his old casserole. They loved it and kept leftovers.
Better than bouillon beef is my go to for making red meat taste better. A little bit of it with some sliced philly meat turns it into the beefiest philly steak you've ever had.
Been making a version of these for years and I think I need to kick it up a notch and make them this way next time. Have about four different flavors of Better Than Bullion in my kitchen and I think it’s genius to add them to both of these recipes. Been using that stuff for years and it makes everything I put it so much more delicious. Thanks for sharing these recipes, Brian! 😊
I love your channel and have been a long-time watcher for improving my culinary technique and repertoire. Casseroles are a necessity in life! I am also a long-time BTB fan and only recently discovered the flavors beyond chicken, beef and veggie; it's like having a saucier in your pantry!
Your tuna casserole recipe was the first time I’ve had tuna casserole and it was fantastic. Also, I used your tuna casserole recipe base to make a Chicken bacon ranch casserole. Everything but the mushrooms sub chicken for tuna.
Done both, and I must say they have a very high taste-to-effort ratio, they're landing in rotation for sure :D Thanks Brian, keep up the good work, really enjoying your videos!
I had to let you know that your tuna casserole recipe was a huge hit at my Thanksgiving family dinner. About 5 people went out of their way to rave about it. And I absolutely loved it and the little that was leftover I took home and ate over the next couple meals. Next time I make it I think that I'll just add the cheese into the 'mushroom soup/mornay' rather than add it shredded as you did. Anyway, thanks for the recipe, it was worth all the effort.
@@Shadeadder Might be just a small town joke that Methodist bring casseroles to all their gatherings. I meant no harm. I'm Catholic and I think we bring beer to all the gatherings. LOL At least in my area.
I just this week made a cheap pork butt in a crock pot with a bit of liquid smoke and a big tablespoon of BtB's HAM base, that ham base is amazing with beans, and made my pork roast taste super professionally cooked (instead of tossing things in and shrugging lol). I super look foward to these amazing casseroles! I bet I can get my hot-tuna-hating dad to enjoy a Lagerstrom tuna casserole!!!
As someone who loves mushrooms, I love that you added them to both dishes. Cheeseburger mac is always good, might have to make that soon with plenty of leftovers.
I really appreciate your videos. They help give me confidence that I can create some good meals for my family. I do have 2 questions for you. 1) Where did you find that ground beef masher? 2) On the noodles, any idea how much shorter you cooked them compared to the package instructions? I'm not very good with judging my pasta (or at least lack the confidence there).
1. I bought mine on amazon. Not sure if it's available in any brick and mortar stores. 2. The specific brand of egg noddles he mentions in the video says to boil for 8-10 minutes. When I made the recipe I did a hard boil for about 6.5 minutes and the noodles were about al dente. But it's all about personal preference!
I can hear all the Minnesotans saying "the correct term is 'hot dish'" lol - I've worked for companies based in Minneapolis most of my life (even though I reside in Florida) and just about died laughing when they told me that "casserole" is considered the snooty term for hot dish. My response was "ain't nothing snooty about casserole"
I cant believe Im endorsing a sponsor, but I love Better than Bullion. A great tasting shortcut when you dont need a large amount of stock. If I need a lot of stock, I still make it myself. But for small additions to dishes like this, its great.

Hey Bri! Shout out from CL. I have two requests for you. 1. Homemade hash browns. Any and all recipes I’ve tried have sub satisfactory results 2. Lemon poppyseed muffins. I’m dying for a good recipe for these.
I made the cheeseburger casserole, it was very reminiscent of the Hamburger Helper that I was fed in the 80s, including the sodium. I made a quasi-gluten-free version: gluten-free noodles, arrowroot flour but still used the fried onions, as this was new to me. I'd probably scale back on the beef boullion, as that dominated the overall flavour (and I suspect the salt), but I will say that this was an very tasty casserole. Two thumbs up.
That beef one looks so dope. Love your recipes. You have become one of my favorite youtube chefs and ones I used to like I don't so much anymore. I understand the change for the algorithm but still.
You converted me to better than bouillon quite a while ago. I don’t bother with store bought stock anymore, I just use that. I also love their reduced sodium versions, so I can control the content. Great video!
FWIW, I also recommend the "Natural Catch" brand of tuna. It's comparable to Wild Planet, they have water and oil packed, and it's frequently on sale. I buy it when it's on sale and I'm down to a handful of cans in my pantry. Beyond that, thanks for the reminder to make tuna noodle casserole. It, and mac-n-cheese casserole, brings back fond childhood memories of grandmother babysitting my brother and me and making a satisfying dinner for the family.
Better than boullion is really good! I tried the garlic one and was very happy with it. Except it doesn't sell well at my local store so you really have to watch the expiration date.

I made the HH casserole! I would recommend a little less Dijon since it really comes thru in the dish but overall it was a hit and still enjoying the leftovers 😎.
I cooked this tonight: it was verf popular! Confession: I cut the salt, cheese (except the cream cheese which I used), and breadcrumbs as I thought there was enough fat, and the stock had enough salt, and we all found it delicious with everyone having seconds.

Made it. Worked great. My version a bit salty, so I'll be more careful tasting as I go next time.
I made the 2nd casserole recipe. If you just want the mustard for a little flavor but dont like mustard that much, i would use half the amount the recipe calls for. The dish is good either way, but its a little too mustard heavy in my opinion
Oh my days, this is nostalgic. My mum was obsessed with making a tuna melt casserole for a few years when I was a kid. It was so good! However, given the casserole dinners I've seen more recently, this might be a lot more cooking than casserole mums plan on doing lol.😅
My mom would put crushed potato chips on top of her tuna casserole. All us kids would try to scrape off the top and leave the rest. As a Dad, I figured out how to broil the chips on the bottom, so they stay crispy, and more chips on top. Everyone gets chips that way.
If you are adapting to gluten free on these recipes: potato chips make an excellent, crumbled, crunchy topping. Up here in the PNW, Tim's are the go to chip of choice.
Hi Bri! The salad dressing video was so helpful! I wish there were more videos on making weeknight vegetarian meals. Not to say you haven't done them, just saying I'm here for more of them
Thanks again. Off topic… what do you think about an episode of gas ranges. Not any brand, but what it is we “need”. Just a basic kitchen / cook, but would like to switch. Maybe, specifically , what burner BTU and how many you need. Thanks.
Mushrooms aren't normal in tuna noodle casserole. Me staring at the screen blankly knowing my mom put cream of mushroom in it every week when we had it.
Those look so superior to the originals!! I love a good casserole. Specially good for packing for lunch at work, too, except for the tuna. Chicken makes a good sub for that one.
Hey Brian, for those of us on sodium restricted diets, can you include suggestions on where we can cut back on the salt additions in the recipes without killing the flavor profile? BTW - I LOVE my Better Than Bouillon Organic Reduced Sodium flavors and use them ALL the time!

B Man is the comfort everybody needs right now
I use the Better Than Bouillon for most of my stock needs, love it!
I love Better than Bullion. I put it in everything I can.
Both of these dishes look delicious. Will have to revisit when the weather cools down.
In UK a casserole like the French, is a meal slow cooked in the oven. Usually using cheap meats and braising them for best results.
I made the 2nd casserole recipe. If you just want the mustard for a little flavor but dont like mustard that much, i would use half the amount the recipe calls for. The dish is good either way, but its a little too mustard heavy in my opinion
Ruby lounging patiently whilst u cook with tuna? Smart girl 😂
Love your work. ❤❤😊
B than B adobo is good too
If you are adapting to gluten free on these recipes: potato chips make an excellent, crumbled, crunchy topping. Up here in the PNW, Tim's are the go to chip of choice.
Always look forward to Thursdays for another video!
Thanks.
Congrats on Better Than Bouillon sponsorship
Sick 🤘🏼
Looks amazing. I thought I used too much salt but you have outdone me.
