My favorite part about you as a musician is how much fun you have playing the recorder. You’ve made it fun for me too and I appreciate you. It’s been a year now and I’ve learned leaps and bounds more than I ever did as a youth thanks to your videos and through practice practice practice.
Loved this performance Sarah, must have the book. I won't be able to do the tune justice but I'm going to have a damn good go. Thank you for all you do.
This makes me so happy, for a bunch of different reasons: - First time I've really heard you playing so seriously, I think. Like I assumed you could do this, but I don't think I'd actually seen/heard it before. Gorgeous. - Cleanest/crispest Csardas I've ever heard, any instrument. - Showing the limits of what a great player can and can't do in the bottom register of a fipple instrument, in context of a part that mostly lives in second register. - Oh wow that's Anne from college, I did /not/ expect a random Aussie college person to show up on your channel. And yeah I had to google to confirm that. So yeah, thank you. And hi Anne. :)
That was wonderful! I had a non musical friend ask me why musicians dance along to their music. "I don't know, I don't do that myself." I said. He replied "yes you do". I guess it's a subconscious thing. 😊
Hi Sarah! I’m a long time subscriber from Hungary and I absolutely LOVE this!! You really got the essence of the genre of csárdás. Your performance really warmed my heart, thank you!💛
One of the most difficult pieces I have ever had the displeasure to play. I love the tune and your interpretation of it, but alas I will never master it on accordion.
You have a very modest pianist. I was expecting a couple of 7-octaves arpeggios. Oh wait, that was Victor Borge's interpretation. No seriously: lovely sprightly performance.
The sheet music is directly from my book ‘My Favourite Melodies’ aimed at intermediate players- so the aim was to make a fun and effective arrangement, without needing fourteen fingers!
I actually got laughed at when I said I play the recorder and I was like “no, guys, it’s not hot crossed buns, there are wooden ones that sound nice, mine is made of grape wood and cost $100.” They laughed harder because I spent $100 on a “little recorder.” Gosh, I wish you released this video a few months ago. I will say I regret buying it because I like alto ones better than soprano, but I’m looking for a $200 recorder now made from a harder wood.
When I saw the title of the song I thought could that be the same song that knew as a selection on a LP by Chet Atkins called ‘Relaxin’ with Chet’ and was very surprised that is was.
This sounds so beautiful. I dont believe I'll ever be proficient enough to play it but Ive bought your book to support you and maybe i could play it 100x slower 😂
It arrived this morning, thankyou for including Dear Irish Boy, something nice and simple for us less able folk 😊 maybe I'll manage a couple more in time Doen Daphne looks achievable but the rhythm is complicated for me luckily you have these wonderful videos to follow so reading the rhythm isnt so important as learning the tune by ear and just practicing finger movement. We'll get there, thats my next goal now 😊
And I know it's aimed at intermediate players so I'm pleasantly surprised and reccomend everyone to get it whatever standard they are as it gives something to work at and supports the best recorder RUclipsr 😊
Oh, you can! I did a nerdy tutorial video on it- but in this video I do diaphragm vibrato (with my breath), and also soem finger vibrato over the holes.
You need to get a recording with a larger ensemble; your accompanist was great, but the piano texture wasn't quite rich enough to support the recorder here to my ears.
Wow impressive. The performance of the pianist, Anne, and the recorder player, Sarah, was extraordinary beautiful. This is a high level!
Thank you ❤️
Holy lightning fingers, Batman! This was an impressive rendition - very technical and very animated.
What a beautiful performance. It's very enjoyable seeing you having so much fun!
Thank you!
Wonderful to listen to. Thank you!

Aww thank you, that’a lovely to hear! So glad you’ve been enjoying the recorder.
I love listening to you play and also just seeing how much fun you're having with it while playing! :D
Love the quick appregios
Wonderful, beautiful! Thank you for being animated. VERY entertaining!
So fun!!, 🎉
Aaaww! Thank you so much! Blessings from Hungary! 😉❤
Bravo Sarah ! You are always very inspiring!!
Awww thank you ❤️❤️

Trepidante !!!

The recorder is light hearted

Greetings from Poland! 🇵🇱
Amazing job of your both! 🙂🙂🙂

Nice
🎉
I had no idea a flute could replace a violin in a csardas. I grew up listening to them and enjoyed your playing. I'm half Hungarian.
One of the most difficult pieces I have ever had the displeasure to play. I love the tune and your interpretation of it, but alas I will never master it on accordion.
Funny and entertaining ❤
I know it from the violin but it's not so straightforward to get this funny vibe on recorder. Well done 😊

I didn't know there were grapewood recorders!

If i start learning the recorder JUST NOW, how many lifes do I need to get on this level?
She is such a fine player she does things on this instrument that I don't
totally understand
Lovely performance! Are any of these melodies in your book especially nice sounding in your opinion on bass recorder?
Ooh yes! The ‘Dear Irish Boy’, or the Clara Schumann, or the Sicilienne. But the range will go too low- feel free to play them with tenor fingerings!
I was like... omg where have I heard that intro portion before? Then it hit me! It was used by Lady Gaga at the beginning of Alejandro.
It was!!
This sounds so beautiful. I dont believe I'll ever be proficient enough to play it but Ive bought your book to support you and maybe i could play it 100x slower 😂
Thank you, Sara! Just signed your book and I’m putting it in the post today ☺️

Sarah, did you play in soprano? Why did you play in soprano instead of alto?
Such a pity that Victor Borge can't hear you playing this... 😊❤
Wow, how do you vibrato in a recorder? Also, I didn't know Czardas can fit in two octaves!
Yes, I noticed the really lovely, modest, only-when-necessary, vibrato.
Oh, you can! I did a nerdy tutorial video on it- but in this video I do diaphragm vibrato (with my breath), and also soem finger vibrato over the holes.
Thank you!
I wanna give it 3 likes!!!!

Gurrl how is your hair so silky smooth here, dish the tea bish
Should have been accompanied by Victor Borge!
Its hungarry
