I have a SHREK happy meal toy I got from Wendy's about 10yrs ago that has a similar torso to make extra noise. The only dif is that the Wendy's Shrek was waaay cheaper & had a piece of metal inside to give it a wobbly, crashing-sorta sound. Love the line & applaud Mattel, but they kinda pooped the bed on this one. Aaaargh! I LOVED this HeMan bitd
Thanks for checking the video out! That action feature concept that He-man uses is probably very similar to Shrek toy! The Origins line is definitely changing certain figures up and going as simple or cheap as possible, but yet charging more money! We see with many figures today. Inflation is driving cost up, and companies are making things cheaper. So im assuming that was part of the design with this He-man figure! Plus, I knew they weren't gonna use that cap pop mechanism because of legal problems today with caps and toys. It's still a cool He-man to get because of the look and Nastalgia👍
This is one of the few examples where I don’t mind Mattel changing the action feature from the vintage. I also knew they wouldn’t use caps because of potential safety issues. On top of that, I also don’t remember using them all that often with my vintage Thunder Punch He-Man because of the lingering smell of the gunpowder (my mother was asthmatic) which also left a stain on the red plastic when the caps popped. Incorporating a power punch feature with the clicking “thunder” sound is a great alternative, in my opinion.
I agree! I also knew that in this day and age, a Thunder Punch He-man in the Origins would not be made to use caps like the vintage. I wish the backpack opened up and was solid like the Classics. But it's fine for what's it's doing. I didn't expect a sound effect to be added to the body that works with the spring punch. So its fun they added that feature like you mentioned👍
Yeah, you would think at least one extra hand! The Origins figures are hit and miss sometimes. Some figures get a cool new redesign or similar action feature going back to the vintage one. Or just completely cut and made more retro. Some get cool accessories. And others cut! The good thing in this case is you can usecany Origins He-man gripping hand, and it blends in fine👍
I've been transformed into my 7 yr old self since the origins line came out! I have King Hiss and Merman being shipped out as I type also from BBTS. They have great customer service. And you sir make great review videos. Appreciate it!
Thanks for stopping in to check out the video. I really appreciate your inspirational comments! Yes, sir, I totally get your feelings of being transported to a kid again with the Origins line. We are all here for the same reason. It brings us back to our childhood and feeds that Nastalgia you crave now decades later with these awesome 80s toys we grew up with, I can't get enough of this stuff! Congrats on your King Kiss and Merman on the way from BBTS. That's where I got my figures from. Yeah there customer service is really great 👍
@The Man Child glad to hear that brother! I grabbed a couple from my neighborhood Walmart. One to pose and the other to keep boxed up. Got the latter on clearance. It's a shame they don't sell well in my area.
@Benny Lopez Wow, that's some good grabs. I remember finding one in my wallmart a year back sitting there when they were first announced. Many of the Masters of the Universe Veichles and cats don't really sell well at retail or on clearance. I think if the Origins line keeps going forward, future larger items will probably be sold only online or through mattel creations.
I remember having this guy as a kid. My original He-Man had a broken leg and I never could find another basic or a Battle Armor He-Man at my local stores. I had Man-At-Arms be the leader of the Heroic Warriors until I found THIS guy. Loved that figure. Boy, did he smoke! Lol.
Thanks for checking the video out! I remember getting The Vintage Thunder Punch He-man and Dragon blast Skeletor together as a kid. What unique action features for the time. It was rare to see those figures with the legs broken then. Of course, years later, many of them broke when the leg bands broke from age. Yeah, I remember the smoke and the ear popping sound inside as kid😆
@@Themanchlid Yeah. The band snapped on mine back in the 80s. I took really good care of my figures back then so not sure how it broke. The only other casualty I had back then was my Man-At-Arms lost his power punch. I really wish and was hoping that the Origins line would maintain the vintage line's action features. Definitely would've preferred that over the swap ability, especially with the rising costs of these things.
@Adrion Jones Sometimes things just break! I took care of my stuff, and sometimes things just broke. Yeah, the Origins are going in a little different direction, then the vintage with action features. Some figures or Veichles get the action feature, and others don't. We live in different times now. Manufacturing costs and tooling costs insane amount of money. The action features also require toy engineering as well as assembly. So I think Mattel is trying to bring as much vintage nastalgia as they can in the Origins line but reimagined with simple play and more detached parts sharing.
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, I knew he wasn't gonna have the cap feature! But I didn't expect the snap punch and sound effect. So thats cool they did that with this figure👍
Thanks for watching the review! I also really like the action feature they added to this Thunder Punch He-man in place of the Cap feature, being they were not gonna add that in today's toy market. It's cool what kind of custom heads are out there for Masters of the universe figures sometimes 👍
Well, thank you very much for watching my reviews and sharing your positive thoughts on my content! I'm happy you get something positive out of them! Greetings from the USA✌️😁
It's great to see you stop in to check the review out! I'm happy to see a Thunder Punch He-man in the origins now! I had the vintage as a kid.ni remember that loud bang and smoke from the cap feature. Awesome stuff! It's cool that you still have the vintage One.👍
Thanks for stopping in to check the review out! My king hiss also got stuck in delivery. I just got him today! Maybe something to do with the New Year! Hopefully, you get him soon👍
Cool! Yeah, I saw something like that done online one time with a toy and that cap pop device with snap caps. Thanks for watching and sharing your info and suggestions👍
I'm pretty impressed with this one. And i actually like the new action feature better than the original. works great and includes the twist spin gimmik from the original figures.
It's a good figure! I'm glad to have gotten an Origins Thunder punch He-man finnaly. I wish the back open up like the Classics. But they still gave him the Twist punch and sound snap effects, as you mentioned! I'm happy with him👍
@@Reach008 Yes I believe it will fit the Savage He-man buck. I think I showed that Thunder punch armor On the a Masterverse and Classics He-man buck in the review and it fit well on both figures. You can go back to that part of this review and see how it fit if your interested or not sure how it looks.
I was hoping it had a solid backpack drop-down feature like the classics. Never mind if they left the cap feature, and we had to just buy them elsewhere. It's cool to see the Thunder Punch He-man in Origins. But it does feel a little cheap in the backpack!
Happy New Year Mc! I actually think this guy is pretty cool! Pretty unique and also to know about that cap feature you guys had in the 80's 🤯 mind blown! Definitely will be getting this guy and also you gave me a idea to make a thunder punch masterverse 40th anniversary He-man custom! Need to buy a second 40th heman and also hopefully get a loose thunder punch gear from eBay! Nice review I really think this one is awesome!✨✨✨✨
Happy New Year, JN! Thanks for checking this guy out. I'm glad you like him! He will be a mix for many of us older collectors because we wanted that crazy 80s Cap bang feature. I knew or had a feeling that wasn't happening if we got a Thunder Punch He-man as we do now. The laws are too complex on that stuff today. But it's fun to see this figure in the Origins, and it's great that his accessories fit The Classics, Masterverse, and 40th Anniversary He-man because the Chest rig comes off and is big enough to do so. Now people can some cool customs or a Masterverse Thunder Punch He-man like you said by just picking up a spare Buck or He-man on eBay. They are cheap too. I bought a couple for Customs👍
@@Themanchlid Cool! Yeah I did notice some of the other collectors I talked to tell me lots of things are missing in some toylines and even the punch swing for motu origins figures. ( I really didn't know that was a thing at the time lol! ) Oddly enough I figured at these prices companies should be aware that with these prices on toys this pretty much targets the collectors and not the kids so as for these strict laws today someone needs to catch up lol! Anyways , yeah that custom idea popped in my head when you swapped out the harness or his vest to the wide body 40th! Some of these things lately I want to have a unique variation with the 40th He-man because he seems to be the best head so far!
@Jigsaw Nora That's true what the other collectors told you about missing features we grew up with in the vintage MOTU line. The Origins is remastering all this stuff but going in a different direction with certain figures or Veichles. It seems like as the line continues, the vintage action features features are getting cut more. Like Kobra Kahn water squirting effects and Rattlors neck popping action to name a couple. I think Mattel is doing it to save tooling costs and laziness. Plus, the Origins was technically marketed to kids, but with the Parents of my generation in mind to hopefully get their kids into this stuff like we were. The 40th Anniversary He-man head looks really good on the Origins body. That's the first time I've tried it, I think👌
Ugh that solid gold sword. The translucent yellow one in the vintage line was my favorite weapon of all time, and they had to go and completely ruin it. Booo. 😑 Anyways, great review. 😁
Thanks for watching the review! Yeah, I actually mentioned that in the review, but cut it I editing for sound issues. I think there we're two vintage variants. One with the solid gold sword and one with the Translucent Sword. Most of us probably had that one. I remember having the Translucent Yellow sword with mine as a kid. The Origins is changing things around a bit. Sometimes, there are custom Translucent Sword options on etsy or eBay👍
This figure Mr Mark on being a deluxe card. The usual template would be the figure, the weapons, and effects piece, or an oversized unusual weapon and an extra head.
This figure didn't need to be in deluxe card at all! I'm not sure why they did that aside, promoting Thunder Punch He-man in the Origins line and to make more money I guess!
Thanks for watching! I kind of wish he came with that sword, too. But the Origins line changes certain things upnor around sometimes! Maybe someone on etsy or eBay will or already made custom s👍
Moss Man is going to be a deluxe exclusive, similar to Panthor and the Palace Guard. He is going to come with Beast Man's yellow armour from the Weapons Pak, and the LOP head. He will be flocked. Hopefully the pine scent will be included too.
Thanks for checking the reviews out! Yeah, unfortunately, it's rough getting some of this stuff to Canada, or it takes some months by the time the USA gets it! Even here, I have to order everything online and get it shipped to my house. It's hard to find anything in stores with The Origins!
It's pretty weak. For a deluxe figure they should have done so much more. The 200X Battle Sound figures had electronic voices and sounds, so there is no reason why Mattel couldn't have given Thunder Punch He-Man a similar gimmick.
LOL. I bet you don't regret it either! The Classics Two Bad is awesome! He was definitely high on my list during my hunting for the Classics! I think he was probably my 10th or 15th figure in line collecting that stuff
@@Themanchlid No regrets bro when it comes to the classics lol. Yeah he’s two sweet lol. He’s on his way open but only for display tight joints and complete or so I was promised…$90 free shipping plus tax.
I think he stopped making custom parts last year.. He used to have an eBay page, but it's gone. I remember reading that he was gonna stop making stuff, unfortunately. Hers is his Facebook page. m.facebook.com/BarbarossaCustoms/
Yeah, I wish it had the action cap feature, even if we were responsible for buying the caps elsewhere. Or even the drop down back pack like the Classics had with a mimic Ring cap. I'm just glad the harness can come off and fit other MOTU figures. As the Origins line continues, I see more vintage inspired action features cut or modified, unfortunately.
Agreed, and it's not just because they removed the proper action feature. The Classics figure did too, but at least that figure still had an opening backpack, and came with a faux cap ring that could be placed inside. You can't even fit a cap ring into the Origins shield like the vintage one, and the sword is the wrong colour, so it is a failure on multiple levels. It is also the first deluxe figure that doesn't come with an extra head.
Thanks for stopping in again, bro! I am also glad to see some type of action feature in the waist and snap noice. It's also cool that the backpack can come off and fit other Masterverse figures. I wish it did at least open up. But it or what is! I'm just happy to see a Thunder Punch He-man in the Origins line now👍
Yeah, it included a gold sword instead of the yellow transparent one. I mentioned that during the review, and we can find options or print one like you mentioned, but i cut that in editing because of technical issues with sound. Aside from that, it's fun to get an Origins Thunder punch He-man! Thanks for checking out the video👍
I thought he would have an electronic thunder sound like the 200x He-man had. I knew they definitely were not gonna give the ring cap option. He does have a snap sound. But nothing over the top! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments👍
The gold sword is fine with me. I think many of us like transparent looking weapons and effects like his thunder punch effect. So im surprised he didn't include that Sword going back to the vintage and classics figure. But the gold sword is still cool to have👍
@@Themanchlid like his punch action…but when you took of armor and exposed those holes I lost my shit lol still cool thought it’s just always something…guess my expectations are always too high …trying to treat myself to at least one classic a month 😂🤣😂 girls get diamonds. Men get classics and classics are forever a man’s best friend lol
@MNC122703 Yeah, the Origins are taking some figures in directions! Some get top treatment! Others get cut, or the action features get cut or replaced. Classics are definitely the best option. But even in that line, most of the action features are cut. So I guess that's why I get over it quickly with the Origins. One classic figure a month is a great balance 👌
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, I think many people would have liked that feature in a remastered Origins version. But I knew they weren't gonna do that today. It's fun to see the snap effect and removable armor. Now we can make customs with other figures too. It's really cool that you still have a vintage one👍
Thanks for checking the video out! Yeah, the Thunder Punch He-man and Dragon blast Skeletor was some of my favorites as a kid. I also got King Hiss coming soon! Hopefully, you get them in hand soon👍
Thanks for checking out the review! I think as the Origins line goes forward, we will see fewer action features in the vintage inspired figures depending on how complex the original figures' design was like thunder punch He-man, for example! We did get some kind of action feature. But not the original cap pop one. It's still fun to have!
Wrong. Minicomic Roboto is in wave 12, and a Snake Trooper is rumoured for wave 13, and since it reuses the Horde Trooper body it will also have the action feature. I also fully expect Sy-Klone, Modulok, Blast-Attak, Multi-Bot, and Sssqueeze will retain their action features.
Yeah, he didn't come with the Translucent Sword. I think the original might have had two variants. One with the Translucent Sword and one with the Gold Sword!

They didn't send it by train. They sent it by boat. A Bayliner or crisscross criscraft 😜
Lol😆 I think your right buddy! Mine is still stuck in the DHL shipping service! Oh well! Thanks for stopping in! Happy New Year👍
the glow in dark ring s. back in the day
Like Tri-Klops and Trap-jaw rings?
You did it again to me lol. So I got a classics two bad from a Collector. Woohooo!
@@MNC122703 I also never had regrets on the Classics! 90 dollars is great! I think I paid over a 100 for mine then!
Not cool as the original but I like him
It would have been cool to see that Cap action feature like the original. I also like him just because of the nastalgic look👍
link to that vintage 3D printed head? how much $?
I think he stopped making custom parts last year.. He used to have an eBay page, but it's gone. I remember reading that he was gonna stop making stuff, unfortunately. Hers is his Facebook page. m.facebook.com/BarbarossaCustoms/
I want that vintage inspired head. Where do I get it? Lol
I got it on eBay from a seller called Barbossa customs. But I read he is getting out of the custom work.
@@Themanchlid fantastic head bro lol did I just say that 😂
@@MNC122703 👍😆
This is the first Origin fig that depresses me.. 😕 The 80’s figure was my favorite and it bums me out.
Loooove your tutorial!!!
@EdgardoGeorge Thanks for taking the time to check it out and leaving the comments 👍
Nice! Can't wait! 👍
👍😁
Cool toys collection
Thanks for checking the toys out! They are a lot of fun👍
Great review again bro! I am glad we have an action feature even though we can't have the red caps anymore due to safety reasons. He looks awesome
Thanks for stopping in again, bro! I am also glad to see some type of action feature in the waist and snap noice. It's also cool that the backpack can come off and fit other Masterverse figures. I wish it did at least open up. But it or what is! I'm just happy to see a Thunder Punch He-man in the Origins line now👍
That sword has to go! I'm glad I can 3d print a cartoon accurate transparent sword in yellow.
@@Themanchlid no problem. I'm getting one soon.
@@yurushii Nice! 👍
Can the arms be swapped out?
No, they can't come out like most origins.I actually mentioned that in the review, but I cut that in editing for technical reasons.
@@Themanchlid many thanks!!!!
@@whyldefyre6648 No problem! Thanks for watching👌
As much as they charge they can't at least throw a cool thunder punch sound
I thought he would have an electronic thunder sound like the 200x He-man had. I knew they definitely were not gonna give the ring cap option. He does have a snap sound. But nothing over the top! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments👍
Yeah, they could have added a battery powered sound effect. This figure does not justify the Deluxe price tag.
Great review! I just got mine a few days ago. Awesome figure!
Thanks for checking the review out! Congrats on getting yours in as well👍
I love you Bill Blurr
Lol! Thanks, man! Love back! You're the sixth person to call me Bill burr. I wish!!!
But I'll take it, BIll Burr is awesome👌
A first-rate review of Thunder Punch He-Man and his cool accessories!
Thanks, man! Always a pleasure! Hope you had a great New Year👍
@@Themanchlid You're doing awesome work! Moreover, Masterverse & Origins have plenty of goodies in store for us this year! 👍
@Aaron Scott Thanks again! Yes! There's lots of cool stuff coming 👍😁
@@Themanchlid ✌️👍
@@aaronscott5882 👌
Everyone complaining about this sword . I think this Murky color sword looks good . Love the comic book too .
The gold sword is fine with me. I think many of us like transparent looking weapons and effects like his thunder punch effect. So im surprised he didn't include that Sword going back to the vintage and classics figure. But the gold sword is still cool to have👍
He’s pretty cool.
Yeah, it's always nice to get more vintage inspired Origins He-man and Skeletor Variants👍
Does the arms still comes off? 🤔
No. Not on mine anyway.
So I was 100% right about his action feature
Yep!👍
@@Themanchlid That's the only way for then to do it with no caps. Maybe stupid bit sadly 🤷♂️
@MattMatt Yes, they can't do that today with caps in toys because of laws.
who Remember s the skeletor With the Dragon Pack on the dack
Me! I had that figure.
I am really glad they kept the action feature in this one. I live the caps, but I got a vintage for that, so it is all good.
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, I think many people would have liked that feature in a remastered Origins version. But I knew they weren't gonna do that today. It's fun to see the snap effect and removable armor. Now we can make customs with other figures too. It's really cool that you still have a vintage one👍
This was my favorite He-Man variant, still have the vintage, Classics, and got the Origins TP HE-MAN last week now I'm waiting for King Hiss
Thanks for checking the video out! Yeah, the Thunder Punch He-man and Dragon blast Skeletor was some of my favorites as a kid. I also got King Hiss coming soon! Hopefully, you get them in hand soon👍
it looks like this is last motu origins figure with action feature. I hope i will get him.
I also fully expect Sy-Klone, Modulok, Blast-Attak, Multi-Bot, and Sssqueeze will retain their action features.
i like Customs
Me too!
If it had the translucent sword like the original it would have been perfect
Yeah, he didn't come with the Translucent Sword. I think the original might have had two variants. One with the Translucent Sword and one with the Gold Sword!
