    Im prioritizing timing and movement. You’re right, The anchor was more difficult.
    ..But! My scores were the same or better and bad shots were in the red or better not out in 2-3 like they usually are on my bad shots.

    Another excellent video about a subtle but very common mistake that archers make (myself included) ...putting too much emphasis on sticking the pin in the gold.
    I've been away from archery for a while and coming back... continuing to pull through the clicker without stopping is one of my shooting failts I'm trying to overcome.

    This is exactly what I am going through right now. I am trying to keep my shot timing consistent and am sacrificing my aiming over keeping the timing the same. 1 out of 5 times I feel like I am completely off for that split second I am giving myself to aim but just go through to my release to keep my timing the same. I am shooting traditional archery but with the Olympic Recurve shot process. Thank you for this video, I wasn't sure if what I was doing was a good approach but with all of the tips and advice that you give I now feel confident I am on a good training path. I am making videos showing my application of Olympic Recurve archery to Trad archery. Your channel has been the best learning tool for me and if you don't mind I will be adding cards and links to your videos on my channel to spread the word. Cheers!

    Even more important next year as jan 15th the time per arrow goes to 30s so "only" 3 minutes outdoor.

    Online archery academy thanks for all your awesome videos but I'm very confused in archery Joel turner has an archery class an is very high ranked but he pauses with his draw arm elbow expansion for a long time, and he hits the bulls eye every time

    hello Ashe,
    I congratulate you on the quality of your video and your explanations make the problem clearer and solutions are more convenient but I have a notice to suggest you and I like to have a return please, if after the anchor I stopped just the time that i need to aim but without losing the effort to continue the expansion, I hold but with energy to keep moving my elbow, is it correct? thank you.

    • @OnlineArcheryAcademy
      @OnlineArcheryAcademy  2 года назад +1

      As long as you're continuing to move your elbow that is the key thing, but try not to think of it as a 'stop'. If you feel the need to stop and get your aim onto the gold then it sounds like your sight is too far from the gold once your reach anchor.
      When the string touches your face your sight needs to be at least within the red already, so you can then have the confidence to continue moving and your subconscious can do the last bit of the aiming.
      If you touch into anchor and the sight is in the white/black/blue for example, this will make you want to 'stop' like you mention and get the sight onto the gold before you then continue the movement, which isn't helpful for your shot.
      So to summarise, make sure the sight is close enough and then keep moving through :)

    Is there a time or specific problem that would discourage me from doing this or is it good at anytime?

    You & many emphasised “volume”. I’m going for VOLUME for the next 100 days.
    I can shoot a dozen arrows at 50lb before I’m spent. I’m working up to 500 draw at 45lb per day.

    In short distance my anchor is good but whenever I go to 70m I press my anchor a towards my chin a lot. Maybe that's because I have to raise my bow hand a lot to aim. Can you give any advice on how to maintain your form at 70m for short people who have to raise their hand a lot to aim, please?
