It ruined my future. I started watching when I was 13. On my 30th Bday I went for confession and Jesus healed me. I go for mass everyday and confession every week. Max 2 weeks without confession. Not more than that. Praise be to Jesus. I'm so happy now that I can't even express in words. I distribute Rosary and How to pray Rosary pamphlet. Please pray for the people who recieve it that they may become Catholic.
You are on the program! Nothing so powerful as the Sacraments! Same story as you btw, I was only ten years old. God has blessed me with a happy marriage and many children, though I don't deserve them. The Sacraments keep us safe from sin and strong to resist temptations.

Porn ruined my life. I lost my job, friends, and a potential relationship with a coworker. This priest, Fr. Meyer described exactly what I was going through. It got to the point where I wanted to get caught. I was so sick of this addiction. Before I got caught I was in the early stages of planning out how I was going to kill myself. I didn't want to live like this anymore. I suffer from depression, loneliness, defeated, unwanted failure and I used porn to escape. At the time I didn't realize I was poisoning myself. Please, pray for me. I am so scared. I pray the Judge grants me mercy.
@qp304 the first thing we can do is acknowledge and recognize this is damaging us, those around us, and the promising future God wants for us. The thing we are really craving the most is love, in its purest form. God is love, we must turn to Him first with all our heart, with all our suffering, so He can transform our pain into peace, heal our wounds by by His mercy and give us the peace only He can give. Restore our hope from the despair our sins and the devil tries to drag us down with. Dont let the devil double down by crushing us with doubt and despair. You are not alone, and so greatly loved by God. Many of us are in the struggle, healing and freedom can be attained if you want it. His mercy and grace to give us the strength and confidence to break these bonds are ever ready for us. But we must be ready to fight. To persevere in prayer by faith and hope. God wants nothing more than to free us from this. But we must want it, bad. We must be ready to get back up when we fall, and keep fighting. You will start to see progress and changes for the better. Turn to Him, trust Him, and dont look back. Soon you will be transformed to the the man God put you here to be. We are called to love, and be loved. Your problem is not porn. Your problem is that you have allowed religious brainwashing to get inside your weak mind and destroy your life with false guilt. Porn has improved my life tremendously. I slipped up today on being porn free for nine months. This video was the first in my recommendations. 2020 I will definitely not watch it once no matter what, I love god too much. The devil tempts me with sexual dreams but I can’t listen to them, I’m stronger than the devil’s temptation

I had an occurence where I fell off after 6 months of being clean. I used it once, and the next morning, I was filled with self doubt and confusion, regret and total depression about my whole life, I didnt feel as if I could go on. I went and made a fast confession, and I'm recovering again. It was completely not worth it.
Elspeth Silverstar hey friend, remember that when we try to be self reliant from Jesus then that is when we usually fall away from him. He already knows us deeply and he loves us in all our misery and sorrows. We just have to talk with him and let him know about what we go through. Pray to him like he is sitting right in front of you and you can say anything to him and say everything in your heart, even and especially those things that you are so shamed about and embarrassed about that you would think to die before say this to anyone. i dont have a problem with porn but I struggle with a drug addiction!! I would rather have a porn addiction than a drug addiction, way worse addiction!!

Mary did not creat marriage, SHE IS NOT GOD! Marriage was instituted by the Holy Trinity in Genesis 2:18-24, as was the family unit. Mary was nothing more than a faithful and obedient servant of God who said yes to become the mother of Jesus! She is to be honoured for this! She could have been stoned to death for her decision given what Jewish law in the Old Testament teaches. They perceived her to be an adulteress because she became pregnant by someone other than Joseph, thus according to Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) she should have been brought to the elders and stoned to death. Thankfully Joseph also was a righteous man and knew God’s voice and obeyed what God instructed him to do. After the virgin gave birth, her and Joseph consummated the marriage. The apostles James and Jude are proof of this.
Corn has ruin many lives, I have come across many. Passionate young souls turn dull and dry after exposed and addicted to this terrible thing. It has damage my life too at times. I pray that we all learn to take this.
I've been clean for a few days now. Corn totally destroys lives if you let it grow. I was 11 when I first had my contact with this filthy thing. I love priests who bring up this issue, I have been a porn addict for 17 years, am trying to defeat it my best streak without Porn was 3 to 4 months then I relapsed again. I am sick and tired of going to confession again and again, repeating the same sin, please pray for me
I'm right there with ya brotha! But you got me beat, my longest steak is 6 weeks. Ever since then I can get past a week. I'm on 6 days right now. I don't want to look at porn again because after that I just sin willy nilly like it ain't no thing. I figure if I'm in mortal sin I might as well parade the day. Celebrate Recovery is an excellent Christian program. In a lot of cities across the US. Get with a group of Christian men who will hold you accountable. “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Thank you, Father for bringing up this topic that mostly is "covered up" and most all parish priests are afraid of talking to the parish people during their homily. Most of them find "something" really boring to talk about, and make people want to get the Mass over with and think of what they are going to do after or what they could be doing rather than being at Mass. Basically between porn and the sexualization of society people choose their marriage partner for all of the wrong reasons. Most people getting married are not virgins and people pick a mate for lust, materialism, security, status, timing, and so on. People don’t stay married because there never was a true soul connection.
I saw a homily from back in 1995. The priest said then it was number 1 form of entertainment. Cant image now. I was a victim of sexual harrassment from my priest. He exposed himself. That one act was so traumatic for me. He was narcissistic. The bishop did not believe me. I was forced to leave my parish. They labeled me a trouble maker. I found another parish quite a few miles away. But I still deal with the trauma.
St.John Chrystosom said "The road to hell is paved with the bones of priests and monks, and the skulls of bishops are the lamp posts that light the path". Any of the bad things those clerics have done or said will be accounted for. They will be judged especially harder. Keep praying for yourself and that you may heal. The Lord loves you very much.

I'm an older man and I pray for deliverance from pornography. It has destroyed my life an I confess that I'm a sinner and need God's saving grace. I go to confession with a desire for repent but find myself falling back into this habit of sin.
Gerald Lafitte you need accountability in your life, man, at least one person whom you can trust to talk about this, and whim you can reach with relative ease (e.g., in moments of temptation). Also, you need to be honest with yourself regarding what steps you take that lead you down that dark path; what specific things it is that triggers you so easily. As much as you can, you need to change these things in your life. No excuses. Just do it. Also, be committed to daily prayer. The devil never sleeps in his hunting for you; you should have an active prayer life. For me, I first pray the St Michael the Archangel prayer in the morning, to begin my day with spiritual warfare. I then have a set of morning prayers that I say while I’m still groggy. After that, I have other prayers that i chant, a combination of the psalms and daily prayers for the saints of the day. As much as I am able to throughout the day, I take more time for prayer, spending anywhere from 1-4 hours in prayer and quiet meditation each day.

The Catholic Church should preach on this more. I'm not Catholic I serve God at a Baptist Church, but I know the heaviness addiction to porn can bring on my cross. I haven't watched porn in months, but I have bisexuality pull on my flesh. I praise the Lord I have been able to avoid temptation he helps me walk in the spirit and not the flesh. This message is spot-on. There are probably very few of us who haven't been affected by this horrible plague. The addicton is REAL! I broke off with my then girlfriend and wife-to-be in part because I didn't want this to hurt anyone else. Both her and God apparently had other plans and wanted to help me and helped me have a purpose.. I have a beautiful family thanks be to God but Im not free yet. Please pray for me. Since returning to the Catholic Church, My addiction has been kept at bay by attending Mass on a near daily basis. I also pray every day. The St. Michael's prayer has worked for me when I feel temptation rising. I believe that Porn and other activities that lead to masturbation can go beyond addiction and become hard-wired into a sexual orientation. This type of orientation is completely based on self-gratification. I agree that we need to overcome our guilt and shame and become more willing to talk about this with others who are enslaved by this addiction. The good news is that through the sacrament of reconciliation, I have developed the faith that my loving God will forgive me no matter how many times I fall. Don't be as sick as your secret's. Release them into the light.

It was difficult for me to abstain from the temptation of corn until I embraced my faith and confessed my sins to God. I find that the temptation and appeal was significantly waned and that my relationship with my wife is a lot more powerful.

I was an user of corn for 12 years I thought that it was harmless and now I know HOW MUCH I lost in my young life because of these sick and wicked people! I think this is a real problem and am glad to see a priest trying to tackle it, but it won’t change the course of this problem. All human beings desire intimacy. All human beings want pleasure. Our sex drive is one of the strongest unconscious drives we have. The reason porn is so alluring to watch is because it makes people feel like they are being sexually intimate with another person, but it is an illusion. They are being sexually active with themselves. Even the most tame porn, where the actors are being considerate to one another, is an illusion because the person watching the porn is not actually in a relationship with the actors, though he/she is pretending to be. The reason most people feel bad afterwards is because the loneliness they were feeling before watching the porn is still there (& may even be worse) after the porn. Somehow, we need to help people connect deeper to the Holy Spirit, who lives within their body and we need to help people have the courage to form more intimate love relationship (in the real world).
This is why I want to stop watching pornography because I don't want to ruin my lif, future and my family. I want to stop because I told my mom that i want to be a priest someday and preach the good news about the lord....god bless you father!!!
this problem is demoralizing as absolute shit. i started porn at 17, at 30 i returned to the church and dropped 99% of porn watching, and at 37 i STILL can't get over the psychological attractions this poison has. my life is in shambles because of this. it would just take a quick slip and it would all come tumbling back down. no one talks about it. few people in church mentions it, i can count on my hand the number of times this problem has been mentioned in a homily in church i've attended(between 2 and 3 in my life), and i'm so damn frustrated with my problem and the lack of response, i'm starting to suspect that a good share of priests either have this problem, or have had it, and feel unqualified to talk about it. but it's literally killing us. i tried to counsel a 25 year old guy who started watching porn at 5. 5 YEARS OLD! how can people who have been blessed and fortunate enough to not have this addiction not talk about it! thanks for the homily father. The Catholic position is that accessing pornography is a mortal sin and will send the soul to hell if unconfessed before death. Second, those who habitually view pornography cannot be called “addicts” as if they were victims. They willfully offend God and must strengthen their weak wills through prayer, sacrifice, and assent to the true Catholic Faith. This means rejection of the Vatican 2 sect, of which this “priest” is a member. All those references to “encounters” and “getting help” from secular sources are major clues to this.

He gives "mortal sin" and "hell" passing references and glosses over them. Not enough. Count how many times Jesus mentions hell and loss of salvation in Matt 5. He did not send his Blessed Mother to Fatima to warn sinners that their slumber parties might get sullied, or that they would develop eating disorders or E.D. She came to warn us that "poor sinners" go to hell - and most of them because sins of the flesh. The true priest has to repeat these dire warnings. This presenter mentions "addiction" 8 or nine times. You may disagree, but I sense it is because he wants to soften the sting of an accusation and allow the guilty to infer a reduced moral responsibility. Look at those commenters below who latch on to this cop-out and declare they were also "addicted" to porn. This way, the presenter also gets to avoid being called "judgmental." All in the novus ordo modernist tradition. No, he does not utter the word "victim." So what. In the popular overuse of the word, he knows that MSM considers addicts to be victims. "Addiction" is a popularly misused word and denotes helplessness. The word is attached to so many vices now, such as gambling, sex, overuse of video games, even drinking too much coffee! Instead of addiction, say "sin." Call something rotten by its actual name. Regarding help, he is weak on that as well. He does not say with clarity what "help" the porn viewer is to seek, except to mention that the internet has good "resources!" Isn't the internet the main vehicle of the problem? He would send people back to a forum replete with occasions to sin to get cured? No! The cure is assenting to the traditional Catholic Faith, conversion, Confession (to a true Priest) and saying Rosaries.
I taught at a Catholic school. We had children at our school who were exposed to porn at a young age. Two brothers were exposed to horrific stuff from an adult they met in a game room at a mall. This went on for many months and they were eventually sexually abused. Mom was dropping them off, thinking they were ok in a game room. Lord have mercy. They then exposed another kid in their class to what they had been exposed to. That kid threw up, cried, and and couldn't sleep for two straight weeks, until the parents finally got out of him what was wrong. The initial brothers had to have intense counseling, put on medication for severe depression. Their lives were ruined. Satan is having a heyday with the internet.
I pray for all who are on this road of recovery with me. I have been struggling for over a year to give up pornography and masturbation. I have reached several streaks in the past of well over a month but ended up relapsing again. I am now on what I intend to be my permanent streak. I pray everyone trying to better themselves through beating this enslaving habit will be successful. Have faith everyone.
I used to be addicted to it but Jesus cleansed me of it years ago. Jesus can heal you of it.

I had an occurence where I fell off after 6 months of being clean. I used it once, and the next morning, I was filled with self doubt and confusion, regret and total depression about my whole life, I didnt feel as if I could go on. I went and made a fast confession, and I'm recovering again. It was completely not worth it.

He already knows us deeply and he loves us in all our misery and sorrows. We just have to talk with him and let him know about what we go through. Mary was nothing more than a faithful and obedient servant of God who said yes to become the mother of Jesus! She is to be honoured for this! She could have been stoned to death for her decision given what Jewish law in the Old Testament teaches. They perceived her to be an adulteress because she became pregnant by someone other than Joseph, thus according to Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) she should have been brought to the elders and stoned to death. Thankfully Joseph also was a righteous man and knew God’s voice and obeyed what God instructed him to do.

I saw a homily from back in 1995. The priest said then it was number 1 form of entertainment. Cant image now. I was a victim of sexual harrassment from my priest. He exposed himself. That one act was so traumatic for me. He was narcissistic. The bishop did not believe me. I was forced to leave my parish. They labeled me a trouble maker. I found another parish quite a few miles away. But I still deal with the trauma.

I'm an older man and I pray for deliverance from pornography. It has destroyed my life an I confess that I'm a sinner and need God's saving grace. I go to confession with a desire for repent but find myself falling back into this habit of sin.
Pray to Mother Mary with serious devotion. She will crush the serpent's head and liberate you. But you MUST have a sincere desire to repent.

Gerald Lafitte you need accountability in your life, man, at least one person whom you can trust to talk about this, and whim you can reach with relative ease (e.g., in moments of temptation). Also, you need to be honest with yourself regarding what steps you take that lead you down that dark path; what specific things it is that triggers you so easily. As much as you can, you need to change these things in your life. No excuses. Just do it.
Also, be committed to daily prayer. The devil never sleeps in his hunting for you; you should have an active prayer life. For me, I first pray the St Michael the Archangel prayer in the morning, to begin my day with spiritual warfare. I then have a set of morning prayers that I say while I’m still groggy. After that, I have other prayers that i chant, a combination of the psalms and daily prayers for the saints of the day. As much as I am able to throughout the day, I take more time for prayer, spending anywhere from 1-4 hours in prayer and quiet meditation each day.

Since returning to the Catholic Church, My addiction has been kept at bay by attending Mass on a near daily basis. I also pray every day. The St. Michael's prayer has worked for me when I feel temptation rising. I believe that Porn and other activities that lead to masturbation can go beyond addiction and become hard-wired into a sexual orientation. This type of orientation is completely based on self-gratification. I agree that we need to overcome our guilt and shame and become more willing to talk about this with others who are enslaved by this addiction. The good news is that through the sacrament of reconciliation, I have developed the faith that my loving God will forgive me no matter how many times I fall. Don't be as sick as your secret's. Release them into the light.

I think this is a real problem and am glad to see a priest trying to tackle it, but it won’t change the course of this problem. All human beings desire intimacy. All human beings want pleasure. Our sex drive is one of the strongest unconscious drives we have. The reason porn is so alluring to watch is because it makes people feel like they are being sexually intimate with another person, but it is an illusion. They are being sexually active with themselves. Even the most tame porn, where the actors are being considerate to one another, is an illusion because the person watching the porn is not actually in a relationship with the actors, though he/she is pretending to be. The reason most people feel bad afterwards is because the loneliness they were feeling before watching the porn is still there (& may even be worse) after the porn. Somehow, we need to help people connect deeper to the Holy Spirit, who lives within their body and we need to help people have the courage to form more intimate love relationship (in the real world).

this problem is demoralizing as absolute shit. i started porn at 17, at 30 i returned to the church and dropped 99% of porn watching, and at 37 i STILL can't get over the psychological attractions this poison has. my life is in shambles because of this. it would just take a quick slip and it would all come tumbling back down. no one talks about it. few people in church mentions it, i can count on my hand the number of times this problem has been mentioned in a homily in church i've attended(between 2 and 3 in my life), and i'm so damn frustrated with my problem and the lack of response, i'm starting to suspect that a good share of priests either have this problem, or have had it, and feel unqualified to talk about it. but it's literally killing us. i tried to counsel a 25 year old guy who started watching porn at 5. 5 YEARS OLD! how can people who have been blessed and fortunate enough to not have this addiction not talk about it! thanks for the homily father. Though this was a good speech emphasizing the natural consequences of pornography use, it was not Catholic. The Catholic position is that accessing pornography is a mortal sin and will send the soul to hell if unconfessed before death. Second, those who habitually view pornography cannot be called “addicts” as if they were victims. They willfully offend God and must strengthen their weak wills through prayer, sacrifice, and assent to the true Catholic Faith. This means rejection of the Vatican 2 sect, of which this “priest” is a member. All those references to “encounters” and “getting help” from secular sources are major clues to this.

Those who access pornography offend God and set themselves up for hell. That should be the emphasis in a true priest's sermon. He might also remind the congregation of Matt 5: 28-30. This presenter stresses the temporal effects, such as the adverse effect on marriages, families and vocations These are negative consequences, but they are SECONDARY to the primary consequence which is the loss of one's soul. He gives "mortal sin" and "hell" passing references and glosses over them. Not enough. Count how many times Jesus mentions hell and loss of salvation in Matt 5. He did not send his Blessed Mother to Fatima to warn sinners that their slumber parties might get sullied, or that they would develop eating disorders or E.D. She came to warn us that "poor sinners" go to hell - and most of them because sins of the flesh. The true priest has to repeat these dire warnings.
This presenter mentions "addiction" 8 or nine times. You may disagree, but I sense it is because he wants to soften the sting of an accusation and allow the guilty to infer a reduced moral responsibility. Look at those commenters below who latch on to this cop-out and declare they were also "addicted" to porn. This way, the presenter also gets to avoid being called "judgmental." All in the novus ordo modernist tradition. No, he does not utter the word "victim." So what. In the popular overuse of the word, he knows that MSM considers addicts to be victims. "Addiction" is a popularly misused word and denotes helplessness. The word is attached to so many vices now, such as gambling, sex, overuse of video games, even drinking too much coffee! Instead of addiction, say "sin." Call something rotten by its actual name.
Regarding help, he is weak on that as well. He does not say with clarity what "help" the porn viewer is to seek, except to mention that the internet has good "resources!" Isn't the internet the main vehicle of the problem? He would send people back to a forum replete with occasions to sin to get cured? No! The cure is assenting to the traditional Catholic Faith, conversion, Confession (to a true Priest) and saying Rosaries.
God watches you all at all time and he wants the best out of you. Don't waste your time.
I taught at a Catholic school. We had children at our school who were exposed to porn at a young age. Two brothers were exposed to horrific stuff from an adult they met in a game room at a mall. This went on for many months and they were eventually sexually abused. Mom was dropping them off, thinking they were ok in a game room. Lord have mercy. They then exposed another kid in their class to what they had been exposed to. That kid threw up, cried, and and couldn't sleep for two straight weeks, until the parents finally got out of him what was wrong. The initial brothers had to have intense counseling, put on medication for severe depression. Their lives were ruined. Satan is having a heyday with the internet.

I pray for all who are on this road of recovery with me. I have been struggling for over a year to give up pornography and masturbation. I have reached several streaks in the past of well over a month but ended up relapsing again. I am now on what I intend to be my permanent streak. I pray everyone trying to better themselves through beating this enslaving habit will be successful. Have faith everyone.
