There's many bands that make the gargling sound. That's not a jab at any metal, I love metal, but these guys must be an example of the absolute minimal a record label would take. I can get past the vocals thing as many successful bands like Caninle Corpse and Debauchery make the same noise, but there very little musical characteristics the guitar work.
I am a huge fan of Barnes since late Cannibal Corpse and SFU first album. His down-to-the-core brutal growling has been an enormous inspiration ever since, showing a vast majority of other death metal vocalist (those trying to unsuccesfully copy his style and those who never got even close) their place in a row. Remarkably, despite experiments on Warpath and Bringer of Blood, Barnes throughout time managed to even further brutalize his growling making it sound extremely unique and real. RESPECT!
dont know if anyone cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the new series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my gf for the last days xD
I've seen these guys not once, not twice, but thrice! My brother and I personally met and hung out with them before their set in Omaha,NE at the Ranch Bowl about 5 years ago. They're some of the nicest/coolest guys you could ever hope to meet. Barnes was bowling with his woman and Steve was just hanging out at a table eating bowling alley tacos, I mean these are just regular down to earth guys and they are the fucking kings of Death Metal!
Real Metal like this is the most real music on earth, its not pointless pop and has deep meaning but most people are too ignorant to understand it for what it is.
I dig it,remember being turned into these guys around Bringer of Blood time.so I was 13 & instantly I had went out & got the first 4 SFU albums.only th3n did I realize the vocalist had been the 1 to do vox on my favorite Cannibal album- Tomb of the Mutilated. awesome album I was glad some songs had the slower, groove.
I hate consumer society, I hate increasing productions, I hate politicians who prefer their own profit to save the world for future generations. I am big SFU fan for their attitude to present worlds´ situation expressed right way by excellent Chris´ brute voice and SFU music.
I am a lifelong doors fan.. and i cant watch this video without being in aesthetical heaven here. Morrison also had this murder aura going in the late days. This is one of the best metal videos to me with sentenced to burn and strangled. This is how death metal is supposed to look
Six Feet Under is the beast and Chris Barnes is the best death metal vocalist out there. Period. Comparing his brutal as fuck growl to the likes of Corpsegrinder and others is laughable. Everyone who ever tried growling professionally knows what I mean. Growling you guts out and simply screaming-because-you're-not-good-enough is not the same thing. Sorry. I loved his vocals back in the day when he was in CC but I've been huge fan of SFU since 1995. I've got all their CD's and got to see them a couple of times live. They sound amazing live and listening to Barnes doing live vocals is unforgettable! This guy's forty-some these days and still rules. His growl is like wine, the older it gets, the better!
lol , it s kinda amazing that manny people still don t unerstand how you can like such songs , 1:singing in this style is very hard and uses a very skilled voice and his singing fits the riffs and gives the music its own style. 2. The music is very complex i know oyu won t believe it but the rythmik of deathmetal is very komplex
I love how when someone expresses an opinion about how the vocals do not sound good in this recording, that person is automatically labeled as someone who listens to One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga. I'm not sure where the metal elitists and keyboard warriors make that correlation in their heads, but its old and it's tired. Nobody can be critical about their favorite bands anymore and expect better without being crucified by metal "purists". Get bent.
+endofdecember Like what you like and who gives a fuck what people think? At best, the internet is a soap box. At its worst, it's a place where you try and utterly FAIL to change someone else's mind and then resort to name-calling. There's no body language, no physicality and no actual socializing.
Thaddeus the Impaler .... no offence, but I've never been a fan of his vocals/growling. I've enjoyed Corpsegrinders vocals alot more in CC than i did with Mark Barnes.
barnes is one of the biggest characters on the death metal scene. i think he sounds much better with sfu and fisher is great for cc. barnes turned death metal into a GREAT new direction. it's something like slow death or death and roll if you like. and best of all: band manages to sound great on stage with only 1 guitar. this ain't regular or old school death.
Chris Barnes is a fucking grizzly bear.. powerful fucking voice even if you don't like SFU you cannot deny how fucking powerful his vocals are Chris Barnes is the fucking win for death metal vocals.
I think this song actually suits the DC Supervillain who was able to defeat Superman in the comics "Doomsday" Not just because of the title but the lyrics and just about all else too. Plus Six Feet Under & Cannibal Corpse with C.B on lead vocals are both bands in the metal genre that stand out among the others which is also good.
I actually like the breaking in his voice. It kinda adds character. Whether people love him or hate him his vocals are definately unique.
100% agree with this, he may not have the best vocals anymore but they're very unique and no one quite sounds like him!
I agree most unique vocal in the genre! And the most memorable vocal hooks
He sounds like a deranged old man, pretty damn sick
it makes it more brutal and more authentic

Chris Barnes is one of the most brutal vocalists of all time.

Real Metal like this is the most real music on earth, its not pointless pop and has deep meaning but most people are too ignorant to understand it for what it is.

Jack black at 2:50
What? Seeing him smile as society destroys itself?.
Is it weird that metal calms me down
You smoke too much...
YUCplNK Istrski :D
No. Metal is soothing. The cunts who listen to 1D are the cunts who get angry over metal.
Hell I sleep to death metal lol it's not weird.
No I sleep to this like a fucking lullaby lol
great band
Chris' vocals like gargling with glass
HAHAH yes its like He's struggling, he was way better once .
yep. but its an awesome song doe!
its deliberate. He sounds emotionally disturbed to a degree that most people have never experienced. I share his pain...
Will Smith nah, his vocal chords are just fucked
@@rengmeng6919 lol he sounds stupid let alone in pain hahahaha. TUBE STEAK!!!! TUBE STEAK!!!!! HAHAHAHA
Barnes voice is a horror, best death metal vocalist on earth
I dig it,remember being turned into these guys around Bringer of Blood time.so I was 13 & instantly I had went out & got the first 4 SFU albums.only th3n did I realize the vocalist had been the 1 to do vox on my favorite Cannibal album- Tomb of the Mutilated. awesome album I was glad some songs had the slower, groove.
And the bleeding
Hopefully someone else loves SFU as much as i... or we are all DOOMED
I love it more
Definitely 🤘🏻
I listen SFU in a regular basis I really like them
best death metal singer of all time. i would love to see him back CC for old time sake, and over all more complex music.
This whole album is sick
In my head he's saying "Poopstain" instead of "Doomsday" at 2:42. It's pretty good that way.
"Tuesday!!!!!!"
Haha, sounds like it. :)
Fucking awesome song!
Chris you are still the best.greets from germany.metal blade tourbus visitor 2016.mike
best Six Feet Under album ever..
Love SFU. Barnes' vocals kick ass!
that was great performance, i love death metal.
My first sfu album... edge of the hatchet is still one of my favorite songs
I hate consumer society, I hate increasing productions, I hate politicians who prefer their own profit to save the world for future generations.
I am big SFU fan for their attitude to present worlds´ situation expressed right way by excellent Chris´ brute voice and SFU music.
He was so great in Cannibal Corpse.
And he makes Six Feet Under magical!!
#SIXFEETUNDER~ Doomsday (OFFICIAL VIDEO) ...fucking kick-ass Death Metal G+
I am a lifelong doors fan.. and i cant watch this video without being in aesthetical heaven here. Morrison also had this murder aura going in the late days. This is one of the best metal videos to me with sentenced to burn and strangled. This is how death metal is supposed to look
Back in the day this was brutal!

Chris is absolutely brutal.
His growl is shit, listen to suffocation or dying fetus, waaaay more brutal
This has got to be the biggest troll comment I’ve seen for a six feet under video. This was funny man. Well done haha
fucking great song!
love the ressonance in the guitar, thats what caught my ear when i first heard them, alote of sustain. sounds like the note is growing,,,, fuck yeah!!
Death metal is basically when the stoner bro actually gets mad enough to fight and starts talking like a gargoyle
THATS SO FUCKING GREAT
2:22 fucking insane
I love this sfu ❤
5 stars! I'm speechless.
His voice is so unique , I always loved his approach , sfu are one of the stand alone bands in death,
not in their last album though lol
i want his voice to be my alarm clock :]
Six Feet Under die geilste Band in diesem Universum
You're right. All music is for anyone who wants to enjoy it. Music is not for diversifying races but for differentiating tastes and opinions.
uno de los mejores del deathmetal
2:40 tuesday ! tuesday ! tuesday !

Thats Metal 🤘🤘🤘
Hard Riffs and brutal Voice
king of growl Chris lml
now this sounds like a clogged toilet trying to flush, all those slam bands with their brees cant even touch the flushing toilet of Barnes' vocals
I wasnt talking shit about his vox, i wish i can sing that fucked up
i love chris' vocals when he's still in CC even though i cant understand a thing...
lol , it s kinda amazing that manny people still don t unerstand how you can like such songs ,

brutal, primaire, néandertalien.........mais puissant!!!!!
the opening part freaking looks like Sasquatch airing out his crotch
This song kicked ass
because of some hits i say six feet under owns the throne of deathmetal.
Chris Barnes Rules
This is Chris Barnes, the former singer for Cannibal Corpse, right?
Yes
Keepin it BRUTAL!
SFU rocks!
The best
Damn... I just bought this CD the other day, I have every one... they have been going downhill since Warpath, I will still buy their stuff though....
Losing Allen West was critical.
Not saying they are ripping the off, but I clearly hear a Bolt Thrower riff in there....
George & Chris are both GOD-LIKE when it comes to this.
true talent at it's finest.
His dreads are so long in this!
Check out Brian Fair

BrickWolfy I guess it's always important to have goals.
Thaddeus the Impaler .... no offence, but I've never been a fan of his vocals/growling. I've enjoyed Corpsegrinders vocals alot more in CC than i did with Mark Barnes.
why would anyone bash the vocals? imo they are awesome.people dont get the skill that is needed to do this shit.
It always sounds like "tubesteak" to me when he says "doomsday".
😂😂😂😂
Now I can't unhear it...
barnes is one of the biggest characters on the death metal scene. i think he sounds much better with sfu and fisher is great for cc.
