If they would of rebranded it as an arcade/sim with a new name it wouldn't of been as much backlash. They took away pit stops, tire, damage but kept telling people it's going to be a "sim". So when it launched people were rightfully mad with a bad physics arcade style game.
That's pretty much what I thought too. Just like how the Dirt series did the opposite, and made a spin off of a more simulator game with the "Dirt Rally" series
Only someone living on the dark side of the moon was unaware at launch that it wasn’t a total reboot as an arcade game. It’s the fkn 21st century, for pete’s sake! It was WEEKS before launch the SMS dropped the shoe. Anyone that expected a pad friendly arcade game to be not massively nerfed for wheel is mental! And the name? Who cares?! If it was still a great sim but they changed the name to Go F*ck Yourself Racing, who would have complained?
Slim Jordan Then you are brainwashed. What something is called has no relation to what it IS. Are you seriously telling me that you give a rats about corporate branding? The problem is, Jeff, that when it comes to turning all the mobile game HUD off and going into custom races; is that youre basically playing 60 dollars to play PCars2 with worse graphics and handling. Calling this a 'sim' is like calling Ace Combat a flight sim like Xplane or DCS. Yes, it technically simulates the deeper physics of flying, but to two completely different levels.

SIM racing among gamers. The word makes me laugh! Tweaking a rebound and then maybe lowering the car 0,5 centimeters. That makes a feeling about SIM that has nothing with reality to do. Do you really think that games like F1 and project cars have anything with the real engineers work to do anyway?? It is a slightly mad simulating a simulating. I’m glad you made this video. I was never worried about the arcade style UI I was more concerned with the actual physics and driving style. I kind of like the idea of having to race for money to buy and upgrade cars kind of brings back the old Forza Motorsport 4 vibes (my all time favorite racer). I personally love the new menu was never really a fan of PC and PC2 car and track selection screen.

What I love about PC2 versus say Assetto Corsa Competizione or something similar, is that I can completely chuck a car into turns and drive as fast as I WISH I could on AC or ACC. This game actually looks pretty fun to me, especially for online.
I was scrolling through the Project Cars Reviews on RUclips and came across your channel! I didn’t relieve you also did gaming. You got a new subscriber!

Agreed, if upgraded and tuned correctly many cars feel great and realistic. It's not a hardcore sim but it is very far from an arcade racer. I liked PC1 and 2, got them at release, but I've had more fun and put more time into PC3 than both of those games combined.
I still don't understand why you call it a sim. Yeah I can see it has a few sim elements in driving physics, but removing qualifying, tyre wear, etc is not okay if you (SMS) are planning on promoting it as "all the sim you need". 100cr for a custom setup? what a joke. No Spa, Circuit de la Sarthe ( le mans), COTA, Zandvoort...and you're saying "all the tracks we love are here". And not even addressing the downgrade in graphics and sound and charging the same price? If they say it's a spiritual successor to shift 2, why would you release it in an already established franchise. Defending PC3 is fine, but people who are criticizing it are not doing it blindly. They have valid reasons. So when you defend it you should address 'em first.
Sorry Jeff but it does... as a sim racer its trash. And I am not sure what makes you say PC3 is somehow ok. I would say its your lack of experiance with sims. You play many different games.
@@hesto PC3 is not a simracer. You might be a simracer. Doesn't mean you can not like the game. I am a simracer and I like Forza Horizon series but those are arcaderacer. And PC3 is one too. You can like it, thats not an issue of course. Just don't sell it like its a simracer...
MAJOR MAJOR ISSUE... when driving, the black boarder around the screen that turns RED when you crash, that is TRASH, and hassssss to go.. it breaks immersion.. Pcars3 has Potential, but does need some minor adjustments
The thing with any newer driving game is, that they are too complicated, too much stuff, and not "simple" as where is career, split screens when playing with friends, or multiplayer is shitty. things like these makes them that kind off that you dont want to play that much. "loading screen, start game, loading, career, loading, continue, what challenge you drive, loading, and after 5min, you can drive".
I really like it... I didn't play the previous games, but to me the physics are good, the sense of the progression is there, and upgrades and tuning are there as well.
They should add a setting that switches from "arcade" which should be default because new players and non-sim drivers need that. Then that should tab over to "realism" and it turns off all those settings at once. Having to manually do it is not good for people.
Honestly.. for me I loved the first one as I worked at Cadwell Park and it was nice to finally see that track in a game. But then the second project cars came out and made my home circuit worse than the first game. Really pissed me off so I hated the second game. This one actually looks better so think I'll give it a shot. I just hope cadwell has improved.
You should get ahold of a "Clixbeetle GT" for your TH8A. SimRacingGarage did a review. It gives you a good tactile feedback for "H" pattern shifting. It is made in Australia, so it will take a while. I have one on mine and it is much better and the price is good.
Loving Pcars3. Agree 100%. Its fun. Good on controller and wheel. Custom lobbies and scheduled events online are awesome. SMS needs to work on net code and some graphical issues. We do need to see the return of qualifying in custom lobbies.
Watching you play and explain everything about pc3 has really got me considering picking up the game because every review I've seen they just bash on the game going as far as saying that it doesn't even deserve the project cars name and yes I know that pit stops and dynamic weather/time isn't a thing right now (hopefully it's coming in future updates or dlc) but this game looks really interesting and really want to try it out
Yeah I mean you get 20 something new cars, updated lightning and other bells and whistles. You also get a arcady career if you are into that sort of thing like the Horizon series. People love to hate, I just disagree and think it is fantastic as it is for me.
I was surprised this game came out so fast. I had pre-ordered it like 3 months ago or so? Didn't think it wasn't supposed to be out till November or December. Looks like Forza a bit.
How is it a SIM if you don't even have a pit lane anymore? I very much enjoyed being down in positions in undercut range going into the pits in the rain coming out on slicks finding the dry line and driving my ass off. If I wanted to play Forza I'd play Forza

Donington Park - the South England Duo ??? Donington Park is midlands, right next to East Midlands Airport in fact lol...maybe I am misunderstanding the link IDK ?
It's not a pure distilled sim like PC2 or AC, it's more on the simcade side. It's basically a better version of GRID, Driveclub or NFS Shift, so a middle ground between sim and arcade. I personally play it on a controller and I enjoy it a lot. I don't know why people hate on it so much, it's might just be the sim crowd has a stick up it's butt. Fact is, it's a good game, and I want emphasize the word game, because it's fun and not overly complicated, if you like super realistic racing, there's other options, just don't expect everything to meet your standards. If someone doesn't like this game, it doesn't mean it sucks, it might just not be for them. Ppl need to chill 🤷🏻♂️
This is a juicy racing car driving game with good feedback that delivers. To compare it to Grid (like some try) , is to be completely naive. Grid 2019 is a sweet little arcade racer that holds it's own for fast thrill drive set best set to 280 360 degrees on a wheel. Project CARS 3 is an accessable track racing simulator (that needed patching but) delivers a perfect entry level to sim-racing experience that needs 540-900 and up degrees on a ffb wheel to really sink your teeth into it. I think it will gradually grow a following, and may even be missed and called upon by it's haters in the coming years (like some movies and games that mature well). I like it and can't tell all that much difference in the car handling between PC2 and 3 (even though it is noticably more forgiving in it's handling).
GREAT VIDEO. Just quesiton , what do you use to record the gameplay. i see you play on PC. are you using the same PC or two separate PCs. every time i record any fast frame game ie. car racing, while video cam is also open I get a lot of dropped frames in the recording. thanks
Ok you want to consider this game a sim , because you can choose between show or hide some parts of the HUD .. how about choosing to have pit stops and tyre wear? Ups I guess you can't. So still a sim ?

What I love about PC2 versus say Assetto Corsa Competizione or something similar, is that I can completely chuck a car into turns and drive as fast as I WISH I could on AC or ACC. This game actually looks pretty fun to me, especially for online.
I was scrolling through the Project Cars Reviews on RUclips and came across your channel! I didn’t relieve you also did gaming. You got a new subscriber!
welcome to the channel Aiden!
I love project cars 3. Fun factor is 100% on deck.
great job with video. as always he leaves you enough to determine whether its a title for you or not. which i love. the guy is hands down one if the best gamers on youtube. i think his ats and lspdfr content is really top shelf. keep up the good work Jeff . im a loyal suscriber.
i just love this game and love your vids man ❤😍💕
Agreed, if upgraded and tuned correctly many cars feel great and realistic. It's not a hardcore sim but it is very far from an arcade racer. I liked PC1 and 2, got them at release, but I've had more fun and put more time into PC3 than both of those games combined.
Im in the poor house since building my new pc and i already owned 2. So i guess i will keep playing 2. Good review Jeff!
And thats why PC Elitist fail
@@Jellofreeze eh i enjoy my xbox too. Not a lot of sim type games for the consoles. To each his own.
I agree man I just picked this game up on sale and man I missed out but not anymore. This is a very fun game
I think you put it perfectly. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks if you enjoy the game
11:31 I think there pretty fun and there’s a little bit of technique to it to get the most points
You play many different games.
nah I'm not a pessimistic person, being a sim racer doesn't make me any better.
@@jfavignano But he has a point.
I'm a simracer and I love PC3, what's your point?
@@hesto There is nothing 'Sim' like in PC3. Call yourself whatever you want.
I would love to see this as a series
I really like it... I didn't play the previous games, but to me the physics are good, the sense of the progression is there, and upgrades and tuning are there as well.
A "Simcade". A blend of both arcade and simulation physics.
I saw u stream this last night 😂😂
Great racing game, btw you can turn off the HUD by one selected button
When he sayed the career mode was arcadey I totalled agreed 100%
That car is giving me 2 fast 2 furious vibes tho frl😁
They should add a setting that switches from "arcade" which should be default because new players and non-sim drivers need that. Then that should tab over to "realism" and it turns off all those settings at once. Having to manually do it is not good for people.
Honestly.. for me I loved the first one as I worked at Cadwell Park and it was nice to finally see that track in a game. But then the second project cars came out and made my home circuit worse than the first game. Really pissed me off so I hated the second game. This one actually looks better so think I'll give it a shot. I just hope cadwell has improved.
Good review jeff
Awsome content Jeff, very fair coverage as always my friend. I've never played Project Cars but i might just give it a shot. Thanks Jeff.
6:40 there is a button assigned to turn of the HUD
great video!!
Do you unlock all cars at the beginning of the game?
what happened to your moving chair jeff thought that would be fun for this vid
I recorded this video before I got it
Watching you play and explain everything about pc3 has really got me considering picking up the game because every review I've seen they just bash on the game going as far as saying that it doesn't even deserve the project cars name and yes I know that pit stops and dynamic weather/time isn't a thing right now (hopefully it's coming in future updates or dlc) but this game looks really interesting and really want to try it out
Yeah I mean you get 20 something new cars, updated lightning and other bells and whistles. You also get a arcady career if you are into that sort of thing like the Horizon series. People love to hate, I just disagree and think it is fantastic as it is for me.
I've enjoyed playing it. I don't class it as an arcade racer but it is super suited to a controller! It plays like the latest Grid game tbh!
BUG: Some of the objects like fences and lightpoles shine way too bright through the windshield banner.
I have that problem with the sun sometimes
No tire wear = No sim. Let Asobo make a real racing simulator.
I really like Pcars3. Thanks for the positive vid by the way. 🤜👍
What’s up Jeff!
Thanks again for your big rig video in more work in big rig more places in big rig
I was surprised this game came out so fast. I had pre-ordered it like 3 months ago or so? Didn't think it wasn't supposed to be out till November or December. Looks like Forza a bit.
It sucks alone for the point that you can't add AI to your Multiplayer Lobby while playing with friends.
How is it a SIM if you don't even have a pit lane anymore? I very much enjoyed being down in positions in undercut range going into the pits in the rain coming out on slicks finding the dry line and driving my ass off. If I wanted to play Forza I'd play Forza
How is it a sim if you dont even have pit stops, fuel consumption or tire wear? It's by definition a simcade or an arcade game.
I agree:) SIM racing among gamers. What you guys here seem to forget is that racing is and should totally most be about driving and the feel behind the wheels. About that PC3 is a candy store. Never done better in any racing game. Cars, tracks, weather, super entertaing races plus online racing. But let it be said. Use ONLY helmet view, set it to between 83 and 88 degrees in options and there you go. Driving with a rear view as many reviewvers do, have NOTHING TO DO WITH SIM ANYWAY!!! :) Just try this. Between practising and the races it is much more short loading times than PC 2, so you can actually quickly compare the cars before you choose which car to drive. PC 2 which many "sim racers" accepted was WAY too odd in the way cars reacted compared to teh feel of real cars on the racetracks. Forget the tyre pressure. Drive!! Then Slightly MAD can later add pit stops if someone enjoy sitting there thinking about strategy. Well to those, i could also recommend a game of chess:)
I think you do triple upload days
love it !!!
😆 12:20-RPM gauge = Tachometer lol
It's an arcade racing game and it's fun... only this.
Why do people love pit stops so much?
They updated the game today!!!
Kinda hard for a endurance racer to recommend this game
0:31 they aren't issues. Just how sim is.
Can't make pit stops, no tyre wear, no fuel use, no damage only visual ...... it's NOT a sim. It's still fun though.
GREAT VIDEO. Just quesiton , what do you use to record the gameplay. i see you play on PC. are you using the same PC or two separate PCs. every time i record any fast frame game ie. car racing, while video cam is also open I get a lot of dropped frames in the recording. thanks
Wassup Jeff
I couldn’t agree more. I love it.
Ok you want to consider this game a sim , because you can choose between show or hide some parts of the HUD .. how about choosing to have pit stops and tyre wear? Ups I guess you can't. So still a sim ?
Yep
Thanks for the info Jeff, gonna pick it up later 👌
I will rather call crew 2 more of a sim than this
I'm loving this game so far
Jeff just wondering if you have tried ACC. Would love to see your opinions of that sim
So will we be seeing any multilayer with this game. Been watching the project car mp videos
