    I mean if you have that much correct% then you shouldn't go for the second pass but other than that I would say that anyone who scores below 85% correct in their 1st pass of uworld, they should definetely go for the second. You can give a break and just review FA, pathoma etc between the 2 passes of Uworld.

I can’t do any live courses right now due to the pandemic and other circumstances and I don’t know if the online course is worth doing, but I’d rather not if the lecture notes are sufficient with FA, Pathoma, and B&B, and the three q-banks, Kaplan, USMLE-RX, and U-WORLD, plus the NBMEs. Do u think it’s reasonable for me to target for residency 2023 ( right now I’m a blank page haven’t given any steps also).
    I finished my internship at the end of march 2020. If I have to get into July 2023 residency then I have to apply for interviews in Sept 2022, so by then my yog gap would have been almost 2.5 years, do you think it’s a red flag?
    I’m going to start my preparation for the step 1, right now I feel like I’m on level 0 with my knowledge, for a person like me do u suggest I do Kaplan videos or boards and beyond ( I have not studied anything related to step 1 in the past and Whatever I have learned in mbbs I don’t really remember anything. Could u please suggest what is better for me Kaplan or BnB or should I do both ??
    So that I can finish my preparation in a reasonable amount of time and also get a very high score. I’m ready to put in as much as effort possible to get a really good score

    Have a few disagreements but yeah I agree more or less. I am a non us IMG. I got my step score a little more than a week ago, I scored 258, and my UW first pass was 84%. I do think that it's good to have one good question bank as a primary learning tool(not uw). I used the bnb question bank which served to help me remember stuff better(I did in such a way that I could implement spaced repetition.) I also dont recommend kaplan videos to build base. hey manik! in one of your recent previous videos with top IM resident match (dr. preetam), he said that you have to take LoRs from dean of your (indian )college and your faculty HoDs.. and earlier he said that the PDs upload LoRs directly and we can't do it as applicants... so how will indian LoRs be uploaded?
    Can you please tell this LoRs upload thing 'cause LoRs are "physical" documents and how can they can be uploaded by other people like PDs??? is CV of an applicant online???
    please explain the process... please manik..

    thank you. really appreciate that you simply are aware of how you learn, and how learning is actually effective, rather than just listening to mainstream advice. Really appreciate, and also how much time you give to a thorough review of questions, because honestly thats how i think an effective pass could be done. I have a question, and maybe this will come up in your other videos, but when did you start "preparing" for USMLE, and did you use the other Qbanks before getting to UWorld. Like say you start in your 3rd semester, did you start UWorld right away, or did you continue to do course work, utilizing the learning tools, and the application Qbanks, and then started U world at a later time? simply because to me it seems like Uworld is such an effective resource that real quality time should be given to it, and not crammed in during semester too much.

    • @manikmadaan
      @manikmadaan  3 года назад +2

      so I did my course work and other qbanks like USMLERx before UWORLD and then when I did UWORLD I combined it with Amboss. Yes ! UWORLD is such an awesome resource and you should give a lot of quality time to it

      @@manikmadaan ahh perfect i see now. I am really curious of the timeline. Within the two preclinical years, when did you finish your qbanks, when did you start UWORLD, and when you finished your coursework? Would you be able to shed some light as to the timeline? I know it seems more inquisitive, but I am really curious if i can manage a similar ideology and expectation. Please let me know, I hope you have a happy holiday season my friend

    Do you agree that Uworld and NBME are taking different a approach recently. I have noticed they are not that easy anymore then they were in the past. I mean to say to they know how student’s are thinking so they are changing their patterns of recognitions. It might be different when you did the Uworld versus now. I see some changes though. Idk about others. I might be wrong.
