- Finally got this one out! I really hope you all enjoy the wider variety of battles I am including now, such as that Metronome Battle and the Balanced Hackmons one. For those who don't know, my showdown name is Finn28 and all the battles shown here are submissions. 22 Iron Head uses. 19 flinches -1 because of the first Zen Headbutt flinch. 18 Iron Head flinches. Iron head has a 30% chance to flinch, doubled to 60% by Serene Grace. This is a 6 in 10*2^17, or 1/218453 chance. This should happen in 0.000457763% of cases. This chance is absolutely ridiculous. Showdown needs to look at their RNG.

So, I had something funny happen to me too yesterday. I had Zygarde, Noivern and Vileplume left, all around half HP. He had a Glalie on the field at around 30% and an Alolan Raichu he hadn't used yet. Glalie's Moody had boost its defenses and speed but its special attack was crap so I went into Zygarde, dynamaxed, took the Freeze-Dry with about 20% left and killed him with Max Rockfall. Then he went into his Alolan Raichu, dynamaxed and killed me with Max Mindstorm. He said gg.
I went into Noivern, outspeed and did some damage with U-turn, switching into Vileplume, hoping for a Max Lightning. Unfortunately, he went for Max Mindstorm and killed it. Back into Noivern, I knew I wasn't going to kill it with another U-turn and anything he threw at me would kill me. But I also realized this was his last dynamax turn. So, I went for Roost, recovering all my HP. He went for Max Mindstorm and I lived at 10%. Still slower than me and his defenses back to normal, I killed it with another U-turn, winning the battle. Then I said 'gg indeed'.

Jirachi has serene grace, which doubles the effects of the move. So Zen Headbutt has 40% Flinch Rate and Iron head has 60% Flinch Rate.
Let's calculate the probability of 19+ flinches out of 21 moves, which means one of these things should occur in the 21 moves:
- Everything except 2 Zen Headbutt flinched the opponent: That's 0.6^21 = 0.002194%
- 2 Iron Head: 0.4^4 * 0.6^17 * 342(combination thingy) = 0.1482%
- 1 ZH + 1 IH: 0.4^2 * 0.6^19 * 2 * 19 = 0.03705%
- 1 ZH: 0.6^20 * 0.4 * 2 = 0.002925%
- 1 IH: 0.4^3 * 0.6^18 * 19 = 0.01235%
- Every move flinched the opponent: 0.4^2 * 0.6^19 = 0.000975%
Which in total, is 0.2037% or it's roughly 1 in 491 chance.
For comparison, in Pokemon Sword/Shield, the probability of catching Full HP, non statused Ice/Shadow Rider Calyrex with a *Beast Ball* in 1st try is 0.279%.
