How to build a GT2RS using a Porsche 911 Turbo (GT2RS Part 1)

- Please note future videos are actual video and not just still photos. I started this conversion before I was making videos. This is a video charting the progress of my three year GT2RS build using my 997 Turbo as the donor car. The car is not complete yet and there will be further videos when the work ha been completed. I will be making more videos in future so it won't mainly be photos like this one.
The 997 GT2RS is one of my favorite Porsches of all time. Can't wait for the 991. Your channel is awesome. It combines two of my favorite areas: Super yachts and Porsche. Nice work!

hi. big question. on the centre locks. what holds the locks into the centre locks. if you put them in by hand they are very loose . any help much appreciated thanks

Hector Rodriguez Hi, thanks, glad you like it. Be sure to watch the other videos in the series. I bought the seats used from a motoring website called Pistonheads. They do come up occasionally but are expensive.
Enjoying watching the build, may I ask how you went about the Center lock conversion and what kind of price are you looking at?
Hi, thanks. I’ll have another update in October. Centre lock upgrade is a kit from Porsche. Check with your local Dealer. Price was £1200 in the UK. I had it fitted by Porsche. Cost about £2500 all in but check with your dealer.
That seems a reasonable price. Dunno why but I was expecting something like £8000 just for the kit
If how much has it cost you so far? I did the same exact thing to my car same year 997 Turbo. All exterior work is the exterior work Is an massive engine upgrades Is through evolution motorsports 700 horsepower kit.. I've worked on some of the interior but not nearly as detailed as yours on the interior the exterior is perfect

I have a 997 turbo (650hp by Sportec)
and it's so stange to have 620hp with just:
exhaust
GT2 RS intercoolers
filter
ecu remapping..
Yeah it's probably a bit optimistic that result. Probably more like 580hp

Had it done at a company called DesignLS. Absolute first class work. Based in the UK, not sure where you are. designls.co.uk/ Lots of people on 911uk.com use them now.

Thanks for ur help, can I asked I also upgrade to 997.2 steering wheel but somehow the horn is not working! I do see there is a plug extra, could u give me any advice? Thank u so much!!
I read that if you add a gen.2 wheel you have to activate multifunction steering wheel in PIWIS to make the horn work. My car originally had a multifunction wheel so I never had to do any programming to get my horn working.

Hi, it wasn't easy. You need lots of equipment. New gen.2 amp, new PCM, you have to rewire amp and PCM. You need codes for your car to activate. Once installed you have to take it to Porsche to activate various items (Satnav, Bluetooth etc)
