Cat lady well on the way to destroying her new flat. This time they're the councils problem.
The part I never get is how the tenant stays until the last moment! I wouldn’t even want to show my face to anyone, and would be long gone before that.
The policies where tenants had to wait to be physically evicted to get housing from the council were part of the problem here.

@@romanyimesgen6136 It's a house that's owned by the local government that you rent at a subsidised or no cost - depending if on welfare or not - similar to section 8 housing

Fantastic episode. These landlords need to go back to court to have the rent arrears, plus all court costs, and all repairs that had to done due to the tenant, and have it enforced to the point of garnishment of any monies that the person recieves. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.

Renting out homes in the UK is a nightmare - I live in Australia but had a flat in London. Scumbags wrecked it. Sold it as I couldn’t be arsed with the stress of it all.

There ought to be a BAD TENANT PUBLISHED LIST done by each county every 5 years. This would avoid lots of issues.
Where I live, their credit is ‘ruined’, which comes up when a check is done on the potential new tenant’s name. If it comes up that you have ‘bad’ credit, that shows who it is owed to, you likely won’t be rented to.

I’ve watched shows that film the bailiffs pov..and even those tenets act like they haven’t gotten any warnings whatsoever..but the fact it take the bailiffs 2WEEKS after the landlord had to go to court and get a order of possession that gives the tenant another 2 weeks..I see why the landlords are infuriated beyond words.

When I see the condition that people leave these properties in, I would never ever even consider renting out my home. As this type of rude behavior continues it's going to be harder and harder to even find nice places to rent because no ones going to want to rent their place.

It’s so different in Australia, renters in the UK seems to have more rights than the owners. I have never heard of it taking months in Australia.

This mess is everywhere, it happens in the States too! Folks never talk about this problem when they make videos bashing LANdLORDS.
It’s just a bad here in the States. I know of landlords who have tenants who’ve not paid rent for over year and they’re still living rent free. The landlords will never recover the lost rent.

Craig and Cindy were dealing with nightmare people who would not pay rent and would not move. They use any excuse not to comply with the court order. I would not want to be a landlord, no telling what kind of occupants move into your property. Horrible when the property is left filthy and damaged. If they did not pay rent, they will not pay for cleaning and damage done.
I have 3 cats and am super careful about the smell. Also pigs are the cleanest animals!! They dont deserve their bad rep

These are the only documentaries that seem to be 15 years in the making from the time they first talk to the landlords.
I fixed the place I was renting, the landlord seen $$$ so increased my rent. I refused to pay more so had to move out!

That lady needs to lay off the self tanner she must take hrs to get ready in the morning. So even if u get the court order saying 14 days it dosnt mean anything cause then u have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for baliffs thats nuts

You can always get your money back from tenants who abused the system. One way or another you can make the tenants pay..

In France, it's the opposite the squatters have all rights and judges give them everything they want. Shame.
Why are the laws in the UK so laxed when it comes down to people not paying their rent/mortgage? I mean if a tenant hasn’t paid rent/mortgage in 6, 7 or 8 months, why does it take another 3, 4, or 6 months to evict them? It shouldn’t take that long at all. On top of losing all that rent/mortgage money, the landlord has to eat up the costs for the lawyers, for the court fees, and for bailiffs?? That doesn’t seem fair, and the landlord can’t turn around and sue the tenant for legal fees, money that they have to spend to fix what the tenant damaged, back rent/mortgage, etc!
Maybe, just maybe, the UK should take a page from how America deals with those who refuse to pay their rent/mortgage; they’re given 30 days to pack up and leave, and the sheriffs are there to evict you from the property. So, if a tenant doesn’t pack their belongings within the 30 days, the tenant is 💩 out of luck.
Eviction proceedings can occur if the tenant hasn’t paid their rent/mortgage for 3 months. There’s no forcing a landlord to wait an additional 6-9 months to evict a tenant. That’s ludicrous!
Landlords CAN evict tenants for nonpayment, constant police presence, being disrespectful towards other tenants or neighbors, damages to property, and what have you.
I don’t know IF the tenant, Mary (I think that’s her name), along with her sons, who were not supposed to be living with her, thought that by waiting until the bailiffs had come to begin packing would allow her to stay in the home, or what, but waiting to pack until the final second is disrespectful to the landlord.
They can't pay the money because they spent all their money on cat food, etc.. or beer or cigarettes, etc..

How do you know that when tenants complain on faulty wiring or damp or whatever damage they didn't cause it intentionally? They blame that landlord doesn't fix it, stop paying rent, stay, and then don't even let anybody in to inspect or fix the imagenary problems.

what I do not understand when these tenants leave the rental place after not paying rent and leaving it in such a mess, how is it they are able to get another apartment what happens to checking references ? What about checking bank accounts making sure they pay their rent on time? This is an issue every where in the world, what is hard to understand is how the tenants can continue to get away with this!

The system where court order to evict house but tenant doesn't obey, then landlord have to hire compny to emty his own house and execute court order. So landlord pay lawyer then court then eviction company and pay for damages and garbage tennat left and no rent in hand..

Agreed. I also don't understand why landlords wait several months before taking legal action. In some of these stories the people haven't paid rent for many many months, some up to and over a year. It's a long process so sadly in the UK if you're a landlord, you better start the legal ball rolling after the 1st missed rent payment, imo
