Nice presentation on this product. I live in a hot climate and washing/rinse times in the summertime is a pain (outdoors). No matter how early I get started, it is always a race to get that done. I appreciate the DI system I have bought and love it!
You can use your normal water to wash the car and use the DI water right at the end to hose down the car and wash away the hard water. You use less resin and make it last longer.
Everything you said here makes perfect sense. Especially after you broke it down by price and features and also residual costs which a lot of detailers or enthusiasts don't think about at their time of initial purchase of the unit itself minus the needed resin replacements which need to be replaced often depending on how often you are utilizing the DI system. Once they need to replace the resin a few times, then they realize "Oh my gosh, this thing is so darn expensive!" and then it may go by the wayside so to speak and take up residency in the corner of the garage or inside a cabinet only to be forgotten about until you see it again and think "Maybe I should start using that thing again?!", only to realize the resin replacement is so expensive, you wind up selling the unit to a friend down the street who is just getting into detailing as an enthusiast.
I wonder if instead of buying a new resin, you buy a whole new unit. This way just imagine how much more will last the new unit since the water will come with 50 to 100 ppm for a while. At the end might be more cost effective. What you think?
