When I heard I don't know how cold the water is I knew you were in for a fun one. As a Local to the area I can say that the water is really cold
It was definitely colder than I thought it was going to be but it wasn’t the coldest place I surf on that trip

Check out sunset bay or sunset beach off Cape Arago highway coosbay Oregon so awesome for surfing and body surfing and not as cold

How thick of a wetsuit did you use in the colder water?
I was using a 4/3 but I wish I would have had a 5/4 hoodie

I was wearing my 4/3 I think. Definitely so cold water but I think Big Sur was even colder

@@LorenBird I surfed the So Cal breaks for the first time a couple months ago. It was way different than the Oregon swells and I liked being able to wear boardshorts instead of a full 5ml suit.

@@LorenBird cole Harrington just about a year ago got attacked by a great white in surfer cove in seaside other side of the mountain to the right of bird rock
Don’t see many here in Oregon sightings are rare see more in socal due to the rays being an abundant source for adolescent white sharks only 25 attacks ever reported in Oregon I believe only one has been fatal
