Audi has got a huge factory in german, where it produces usually the more premium segment like R8, A8, A7. I watched discovery channel mega factories about audi.
Would you believe.... I am coming FROM over a decade of Subaru ownership. I've had 2 Foresters, A Baja, An outback and an 08 STI hatch. The first thing I can say is cars that sticker for over $60K are a whole new world compared to anything that stickers for under $40K no matter what you do to or for it. I currently have a 2012 A7 I purchased a month ago. Want to talk about your decision?
but its true that not all the german cars are built in german. sometime they out source the production in cheaper countries like thailand, indonesia, etc. that is why they have the CKD (complete knock down) or CBU (complete build up) version. Usually CBU are more expensive and the CKD usually have different specs such as smaller engine, etc
Audi isn't made in Asia. Audi isn't made in Germany either. The VW group was sold to Martians in the 1980's. There all made on mars. Its just common sense.
Reliability is fine. (we own a 2017) Routine service is more expensive vs hondas and the like but no more vs others like BMW. The 3.0 supercharged engines are routinely tuned to 500 hp without issue.
@@markjohnson2079 well I am thinking about purchasing from 2012-2014 model year. I like to keep things stock and not worried about tuning the vehicle. My concern is how often do I need to go to the mechanic shop. I know bmw and Mercedes cars are very unreliable
@@ubiased23 I've had a lower mileage, one owner 2013 for a little over a year. It's been seamless. My wife's 2011 Q7 (same powertrain) has been equally as impressive. We've had it for 3 years, no issues at all. Are maintenance items more expensive? Yes, but find an nonaffiliated local shop that specializes in German automobiles and you'll be better off.
@@kobecannon8470 what's up man? Unfortunately I did not because then one I can afford had higher mileage. They are anywhere from 25-28k dollars and they have at least 78-90k miles. Didn't want to buy an Audi with that type of mileage because I am afraid of the repairs can be costly.
Wow you are delusional. KIA is Audi? You seriously have your facts wrong. Kia is designed by Audi's previous designer. Audis are built in Germany, but in Belgium and Spain too. I have been to the factory in Belgium (Brussels). How can anybody take you seriously if you can't even spell "Hyundai" (your Hunday, which is pronounced hyun-die) You obviously have no clue about cars.
@mdehee Where are you getting your ridiculous information from? Secondly, what the hell does any of what your saying have to do with how it looks? Everything you said is irrelevant, it doesn't matter what's the inspiration, where it's assembled, where any of the parts come from. The blue prints for the design was thought of by someone from Audi which is a German company, that's the only info that matters. It doesn't look that different from other cars in their lineup; Just sleeker.
The best rear I have ever seen.
this car is gorgeous! I got to meet the designerhe talked about the design process, and they really spent a lot of time on this car.

There's used to be an A5 sportback a few year back. That car look nice too. What happened to it?
dream car
Looks like an R8 in the front
How come two magazines recorded a 0-60 in 4.7 and a quarter in 13.4 seconds? a second faster in the quarter? So weird!
Maybe incline or oxygen saturation due to different altitude.
I love the first Gen…is it weird to cross shop this and an STI?

the designer that worked at Audi now works for Hyundai / Kia

Seems like he works for Honda too these days.
Seen
r8 in the front .... civic at the rear end.
Hate the brake and head lights!
KKKKKKINDA looks like a the last gen Civic but bigger version in the rear....
honda steals from everybody
Wish audi offers heated steering wheel and ventilated seats. Too bad
they do
I absolutely hate those brake lights.
