Thanks for this Marc! Working on a similar size system for a fish only. Have been looking at bacterial additives for support the biofilter and help with organics breakdown. The prodibio line seems very worthy of consideration . Seems to be one of the more cost effective options!
That is true had t5 and halides. Reason for so may di units it to make sure I didn't have any silicants in my water, I double it so if one cartridge depletes, I still have another until I change it. I have a red sea reefer 250. My led lights are set at 20k spectrum at 70% intensity.
Hlw sir I have a question There is no expiry date mentioned on the box of prodibio biodigest How do you calculate tue expiry date of the item ?? Or it has not any expiry date Another question will biodigest work if i use it individually without the use of bioptim???
Loving your vids! I does calc, alk and acropower. Can I add these items while still using acropower do you think? Also, do I need to test for iodine or the strat one?
I don't add anything, I just do water changes. My water runs through rodi. After ro unit, water runs through 2 cation beds, 2 anion beds, then 2 mix beds. I store saltwater in a food grade 55 gallon drum. I also store ato water in an acrylic 5 gallon ato container. I am at a lose. I always have diatoms in my maxspect gyres. I used red sea blue bucket salt. Only supplements per say is Alk and Calc. People at BRS are stumped also.
I run a single color changing DI for my RO system, and you use 6? If your nitrate and phosphate measure 0 all the time, that's been proven to not be a good thing. Also, the biopellets do cause a mulm to appear on the sand and rockwork. I think your reef is too pure, based on what you've stated so far.
I want the best water quality for my fish only aquarium can you recommend which one of these products I should use on a regular basis every 15 days I also have a wife oh and what is something that I can use on a regular basis to keep the best water quality
Any time I add prodibio bio clean, I get a diatom bloom that takes months to go away. I tried other bacteria supplements and the same thing happens. The last time I did this which was about 3 weeks ago, I had a diatom bloom, even turned my sand bed brown. I dosed bakers yeast and the diatoms went away from the sand bed. I ended up getting a white clearish fuzz on my rocks. I am just doing water changes to see if it goes away. I missed you at Aquashella. I got to meet Rico and Inappropriate Reefer.
That is very unusual, I can't even begin to guess what you are dealing with. What else are you adding to the tank on a regular basis? This has to be a combination of things since any bacterial supplement does this.
Perhaps you could pull the biopellets off line and see how your reef does for two months. Phosphate being .08 to .05 is quite low. Mine tends to be .1 on average, .5 when I've let it go for a while, .75ppm when I really ignore it. ;)

Are you switch off protein skimmer when you dose prodibio products
do you still use them and what is the difference between Bioptim and Biodigest ? if I want to buy only one product which one would it be ?

basic question, can we add biodigest when the fishes are inside? I hope it wont harm the fishes and anemones? Please suggest
Totally reefsafe for all livestock. I use it twice a month for the last 10 years.
Hlw sir
I have a question
There is no expiry date mentioned on the box of prodibio biodigest
How do you calculate tue expiry date of the item ?? Or it has not any expiry date
Another question will biodigest work if i use it individually without the use of bioptim???
after how many days should we do a water change if we follow this regime of dosing?
You can do water changes any time you like. I dose Prodibio on the 5th and 20th each month. I don’t want to dose right before a water change though.
@@melevsreef thank you. That’s good information.

You live by Chicago correct?
Are you still using these products?
Yup!

I use Biodigest for my reef and have always turned my skimmer off for a few hours. Is the really necessary?
I never have, but my tank is really big.
Are these better task korallen products?
I don't know because I've never used theirs.

do i need to turn off skimmer when putting Biodigest&Bioptim?
I don't, but you definitely can.
I forgot to mention that I do run bio pellets at 1 cup. I also run gfo and carbon.

Love that product. Wish I was sponsored lol
Just ordered some thanks to your video , in the uk im afraid , sorry
Phosphate just got down to .046, it was at .08, my nitrates are 5ppm.

When phosphate raises, I will get litllte patches of gha. Tank is a year old. For the most part the tank is doing well with growth.
@@chinw76 The clean up crew should be eating any algae your tank grows, if the crew is big enough.
@@melevsreef yes, I buy plenty, but it grows in places they cant reach. If I pull biopellets, will it shock the system?
@@chinw76 What clean up crew can't get to your algae? Here's my article: www.melevsreef.com/cuc No, removing biopellets will not shock your system.
The question is why?
I used to have a reef tank 12 years ago and never had any problems
And 12 years ago, you didn't have this many choices in gear.
Ok I’ll bite. What’s that cost you? What will it cost to do this on a 33 and a 65
