The Colo river has in my opinion some of the most spectacular entry and exits of any river system in Australia.
This video brings back many memories. You absolutely have to do this while you are still relatively young and agile.
Most people have no real understanding of how brutal continuous rock scrambling with a kayak can be..
Thank you both for a most enjoyable adventure

Crawford's lookout- haven't been there since the fires! Yes, top spot! Love Colo. Total wilderness. Have never done the pass down from Lookout as looked sketchy and crumbly years ago. There are many passes. Wondering what the Rd was like out there? You did well to create your own pass!!!
Years ago we went to the house of a man in his 80s named Brian Corliss. He sold us a "book," Colo River Passes and Routes (A buswalkers Guide)" There are 35 Passes into Colo!!! Map and compass required/GPS We had done 5.
The Crawford's Lookout- Pass is 100mtres north of Lookout. There use to be a Cairn marking the beginning of the track. Apparently there is another Pass named "Wounded Knee Pass" which requires rope and 2 canyon like sections.
Colo is for experienced adventures and you certainly fit the mould! Look forward to your next adventure.
