The Colo river has in my opinion some of the most spectacular entry and exits of any river system in Australia. This video brings back many memories. You absolutely have to do this while you are still relatively young and agile. Most people have no real understanding of how brutal continuous rock scrambling with a kayak can be.. Thank you both for a most enjoyable adventure
Looking forward to this after watching some "doom and gloom" videos about the world right now. This should be a change of pace and bring the heart rate down a bit... Thanks Scotty
Holy cow that was EPIC you poor buggers. On the up side the footage was amazing and I can only imagine how good that water felt to soak in. Thanks for sharing. xo
Strewth that was epic, I felt the angst with the climb down and then the bolder hopping, you and Mattsy not going to forget this trip in a hurry, going to be hard to top. Bloody epic, this is one to re watch several times. 😉😁
THAT, good gentlemen, was an AMAZING adventure to watch from the soft secure flat-plane comforts of home. What a trip!! Well, if you weren't men before, I believe that should equate to a bloody Long Passage to Super Manhood if there ever was one. Just seeing your faces after that first descent! Bloody hell! You bloody mad legends! Thanks for the dedication, the immaculate footage, all that excruciating hard yakka you put into this one - and most of all, thank you both, for surviving!
I was holding my breath for u n Matt coming down. U never do a cooshy trip Scotty. That was a hard one and u both pushed through. Well done guys. Well worth it for us you tubers.
Strewth! That was heavy fellers! Awesome video, awesome trip, stunning scenery. Other than finding the right descent, what would you do differently? It strikes me that there isn't much you could improve on with this adventure, just suck it up and take the punishment for the rewards that follow. Good stuff!
Holy fudge! That was an extraordinary trip through a monumental landscape. You guys did well to produce such a great video with flare and good humour. Thank you.
Scott, just an FYI when you descend a steep rock face like that its always best to turn and face the rock to climb down. If you pitch forward off balance its going to be a painful fall. Amazing trip, always find myself coming back to your videos and loving the videography.
done a couple of trips across the Gulf..... kayak fished from Bourtown..... across the Calvert... the Wearayn and the Folshe..... the Robbinson..... multi day trips down river.......Finding bass rivers like this is gold !!!!
40 odd years ago we used to canoe the Colo. BUT we didn't get to it the way you did !! What a nerve racking descent. While we enjoyed canoed the downstream sections we didn't see the wonderful bit of river you did. Congrats. and thanks for reminding me of this place.
Well done! I’ve been wanting to get out this way for a while, it’s not easy country! But just think, you probably the first ones to ever film it like this and try to do its beauty justice, and sharing that with us is worth it. Stay safe though!
Wow! What an adventure! Matt was a having a time of it between his pack falling down that cliff and his boat constantly tipping over. You guys get an A+ for effort and sticking it out though. Don't think things get much wilder that what you guys experienced on this trip.
10 minutes in and had to stop to say, well done! What an adventure it already has turned out to be. Mate really appreciate you doing this and creating this content. So nice to see people enjoying themselves doing what they love and inspiring others to take more time out and do meaningful things. Keep doing it bud!
Amazing trip and video, thank you. Just kept thinking, you're in a narrow canyon and all those boulders came from those cliffs, oh boy. Beautiful though. Take care, be well
Found your channel a few months ago and absolutely love it! Great video like always. I have been waiting on a new one. So jealous of the beautiful landscape - we dont have much of it in denmark, so this is kind of a escape for me. Thanks. Cheers
Loved it! An absolutely crazy trip into the gorge. Stunning scenery, as always. You're very lucky to have these kinds of creeks to explore with a raft in your area.
Oh my gosh you both earned your badges today, the 5 hours!.. climb down. Laughed with you both simply gutted, lying in the cool rewarding waters. We learned the spirit of adventure today's video 👍😲. T. From Qld. P.S. That was a tough pack!
When I saw that footage of the black cockatoos, I thought "I wonder if they were flying West?". And they must have been since you woke to rain. Top video lads! Your pain is our pleasure 😂
Finished a very similar gruelling 3 day hike up in Mitchell River a month ago, slid down a vertical cliff on my ass and waded 2km through rapids to get back. Well worth it, as was yours! Good onya Scotty excellent vid!
What an absolute bloody epic trip. And the scenery! Love how you and Matty get on so well. Like you said, 200mm of water would've made it that much easier. Great show Scotty, keep 'em coming
Totally brutal but the return was worth the scratches & bruises. Chhers for sharing your adventure with us. Love the scenery. Great editing & music. Well done legends.!!
Epic! It looked absolutely tortuous but something that you will reminisce about for years to come. Thank you, it really made me chuckle. Take care, be safe. ❤ Dorset, UK
Good to see you and Mattsy on an adventure. What a grueling time of it! So glad Mattsy let his pack go tumbling down the cliff and that he didnt go with it. And the rafting didnt look easy either. A trio you'll both remember. HooRoo!
A fantastic adventure that was perfectly captured and edited! That initial scramble looked definitely sketchy. I do quite a few myself and with camera gear that’s no easy task! Well done. Really great stuff 🙌👏
Crawford's lookout- haven't been there since the fires! Yes, top spot! Love Colo. Total wilderness. Have never done the pass down from Lookout as looked sketchy and crumbly years ago. There are many passes. Wondering what the Rd was like out there? You did well to create your own pass!!! Years ago we went to the house of a man in his 80s named Brian Corliss. He sold us a "book," Colo River Passes and Routes (A buswalkers Guide)" There are 35 Passes into Colo!!! Map and compass required/GPS We had done 5. The Crawford's Lookout- Pass is 100mtres north of Lookout. There use to be a Cairn marking the beginning of the track. Apparently there is another Pass named "Wounded Knee Pass" which requires rope and 2 canyon like sections. Colo is for experienced adventures and you certainly fit the mould! Look forward to your next adventure.
I’ve always liked your video. Great production quality, some talking, not too much. Wanted to say I like the camping with a buddy feel of this one. It’s more relatable. Do more please. Share the camera load :)
Scotty mate loving these vids. This is the stuff i love doing to catch good fish and see parts of Australia that not to many eyes get to see. Brings me joy to watch you do this
Watching you go through your dilemmas is funny cause you always come out alright. Can’t help myself from repeating certain words you say, like “ river and water”😁😁that accent.
You need to do a collab with @gidosfishingadventures where he teaches you how to rappel properly ... that hand scramble down at the start of the video was damn near suicidal mate!
insane trip, definitely used both of your skills and experience to the max. If I had to pick one bloke to do something this crazy with it'd be mattsy. Could tell how hard it was by how ruffled he got on the first day, must've been so hard. Hyperlite came into its own this trip! Hard out though if mattsys paddle had got bunged on the way down, woulda sucked!!

Wow, what a trip. This has to be one of your best. You two make a great team.
Scotty what are those kayaks called
@@thomask837 These are Alpaca Packrafts
Shit man ya must come across a decent amount of deer in all your walkabouts!🤷🏻♂️👍🏻
I think your entire viewership collectively said "fuck that" when you showed that descent path 😅
Sure did 😂
The absolute best ever episode yet mate! Two great mates just hanging out doin cool shit, bloody awesome !!!!
The Colo river has in my opinion some of the most spectacular entry and exits of any river system in Australia.

Can always rely upon Mattsy forgetting something, breaking something or losing something!
Looking forward to this after watching some "doom and gloom" videos about the world right now. This should be a change of pace and bring the heart rate down a bit... Thanks Scotty
I take that back, you guys scrambling down that "pass of hell" at the beginning is indeed "sketchy" - My heart rate is back up!
You can't look out over such terrain and not wonder about the strength of the forces involved in creating it! Just magnificent!
Depends if your a gradualist or a catastrophs
Hell of a video mate, huge respect doing all the filming on top of what looked like a brutal slog, absolutely epic though!
Australia is stunningly beautiful. Thank you for taking us along with you on your adventures.
Hell of an achievement, filming it all too. Well done.
I know I'm late watching this one, but this was perfect to calm my mind down at the moment. Thanks guys.
30 years ago i would be right behind you climbing down the cliff .but as 56 ill just watch you mad men.another great video scotty
Speechless pal, absolutely stunning views and an amazing video👌🏼🏕📸
Seriously awesome terrain!!! Seriously sketchy hike down to the creek!!!😮 Thanks for sharing your beautiful home land...❤ 👍😎🇨🇦🌿💦🔥
Wow! Rough day on Mattsey! Good move giving him that beer! 👍🏻
Holy cow that was EPIC you poor buggers. On the up side the footage was amazing and I can only imagine how good that water felt to soak in. Thanks for sharing. xo

You weren't kidding ,beautiful river ,but a ton of work. Can you imagine the flow that deposited all those boulders?
Best adventure so far, amazing photography, epic scenery you done it all.Thankyou.
that climb down was "BRUTAL"
All I can say is well done mate. That video was something else. I'd also love to see Mattsy float the whole way down the river head first 🤣
That’s a savage start to a trip, think I might’ve turned back earlier 😂. As always, absolutely stunning scenery
Strewth! That was heavy fellers! Awesome video, awesome trip, stunning scenery.

the Matt Leap into the raft is awe inspiring

Bloody awesome guys , thanks for the effort filming and keeping it real i can only imagine how taxing that would have been
Cheers shad
done a couple of trips across the Gulf..... kayak fished from Bourtown..... across the Calvert... the Wearayn and the Folshe..... the Robbinson..... multi day trips down river.......Finding bass rivers like this is gold !!!!
The controlled descent got me lol lol
40 odd years ago we used to canoe the Colo. BUT we didn't get to it the way you did !! What a nerve racking descent. While we enjoyed canoed the downstream sections we didn't see the wonderful bit of river you did. Congrats. and thanks for reminding me of this place.
Oh gosh! Serious epic climb down and amazing river

Amazing trip and video, thank you. Just kept thinking, you're in a narrow canyon and all those boulders came from those cliffs, oh boy. Beautiful though. Take care, be well
40 yrs ago a mate and I paddled the Styx, Chandler/ Macleay river down to Bellbrook.
Still have the memories tucked away.
hard work, amazing scenery ... thanks for the ride!
I’m exhausted just watching you guys 🤣 That was a solid effort. Fantastic video once again
Loved this especially the dramatic start...Scotty, no fishing nor foraging?
Found your channel a few months ago and absolutely love it! Great video like always. I have been waiting on a new one. So jealous of the beautiful landscape - we dont have much of it in denmark, so this is kind of a escape for me. Thanks. Cheers
Loved it! An absolutely crazy trip into the gorge. Stunning scenery, as always. You're very lucky to have these kinds of creeks to explore with a raft in your area.
Agree, ours are full of crocs up here.. not pack rafting any time soon...
Oh my gosh you both earned your badges today, the 5 hours!.. climb down. Laughed with you both simply gutted, lying in the cool rewarding waters. We learned the spirit of adventure today's video 👍😲. T. From Qld. P.S. That was a tough pack!
What a brilliant episode, made even better with the banter of 2 mates that shared some sketchy stuff.
Brilliant.....Great to see you and the silly swagman out again. ATB GUYS👍👍
When I saw that footage of the black cockatoos, I thought "I wonder if they were flying West?". And they must have been since you woke to rain. Top video lads! Your pain is our pleasure 😂

Damn guys! That looked ruff! Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠
Grand video Scotty. Please tell this Yank the name of the birds calling at your second camp. Thanks
Those are black cockatoos. From about 33:05 you can hear them and see them flying.
What a mission. But a bloody great vid once again mate.
Good to see you and Mattsy on an adventure. What a grueling time of it! So glad Mattsy let his pack go tumbling down the cliff and that he didnt go with it. And the rafting didnt look easy either. A trio you'll both remember. HooRoo!

I’ve always liked your video. Great production quality, some talking, not too much. Wanted to say I like the camping with a buddy feel of this one. It’s more relatable. Do more please. Share the camera load :)
I think this is the 3rd time I’ve watched a video with Mattsy where he’s forgotten something. He’s not having a good run is he? Haha
