Hey, sorry for bothering you but I'm having trouble. It keeps saying "Host Address: ". I've already tried restarting the computer and plugging back the usb dongle back into the computer after getting back on the desktop. I've also reinstalled the drivers. The issue is still there. Do you have any suggestions?
hi its paired but only working with usb when i remove usb it says reserved but doesnt bluetooth pair please help the host is connected :54:35:30:8A:08:62 but the pad 1 reserved after removing usb quick answer plz
Guys, when you have it plugged into USB and it says charging. hit the Pair button on the SCPSERVER.. this will lock the PS controller onto the bluetooth dongle you the drivers set to. unplug and wallah
^^^^^^THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED FOR ME. Open ScpServer. Click on the circle next to Pad 1. Hit the Pair button in the bottom. Pull out your USB plug. Wait. VOILA BLUETOOTH BABY.
It worked perfectly , you just saved my controller's life . The tutorial is pretty simple. 1:43 to simply know the name . watch the list , remove the dongle and a line will disappear , plug it back to clearly see appearing the name of your dongle (line reappearing ) that you can rename easily ...
######Important Notice####### For all those getting the "reserved" or "none" message when trying to pair, it's because your dongle is not good enough i.e. 2.0 is too low. I used a 2.0 and i got the "reserved" and "none" however I then got a 4.0 and it worked. *NOTE my STEPS with 4.0 1) plugged in controller whilst installing driver via zadig 2) opened scp monitor then unplugged controller and saw "reserved" error so i reconnected ps3 controller 3) whilst scp monitor is opened and controller plugged in, i opened scp server then unplugged controller 4) went back to scp monitor and voila! it works! #######THUMBS UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THIS######
***** @ 2.0 works. any generic Bluetooth dongle should work as long as they open up the monitor while controller is plugged in, unplug the controller (so it says reserved) then leave the controller unplugged and press the PS button.
***** It doesn't work. I first bought a 2.0 (cause the video says quote: "ANY" dongle), it didn't work, then I read your comment and bought a 4.0 + EDR and it doesn't work either. I have no problem with it on cable, I have no problem seeing the Dongle, but once I disconnect the cable, I just cannot connect to the dongle. I tried everything. It just doesn't work.
I Found the solution to the bluetooth driver, excuse my bad english. I have a HP Pavilion 14 with Broadcom 43142 Bluetooth 4.0 driver and Windows 10. I tried to do the following and it worked: 1) Install the bluetooth driver (bluetooth.cfg) using zading and NOT RESTART THE COMPUTER. 2) Install Scp Driver but dont open any other programs (referrig to ScpServer or ScpMonitor). 3) Install the original bluetooth driver (in my case Broadcom 43142 driver) and NOT RESTART THE COMPUTER. 4) Open Scpmonitor and ScpServer and it works (at least in my case). IMPORTANT: If you shut down the computer later, you have to do again when you turn on.
+Diego Chiaradia To solve the issue of the driver resetting upon rebooting. Just disable Windows' auto driver installation feature and the drivers will stay put when shutting down your PC.
In device manager, at the end of the list under "Universal Serial Bus Devices" you will find your bluetooth device listed there, just uninstall it then from the "Action" menu choose "Scan for hardware changes" and the driver will be installed automatically by windows and you will get your old Bluetooth driver.
ArtificialSpirit Oh my god thank you so much kind sir. I accidentaly installed the bluetooth thing to my usb wireless connection thingy and it stopped working!!! Then I did what you said here and my computer restarted. I was so afraid that it wasn't going to work and it worked. Thank you so much!!!!
THIS WAS THE LAST FINAL STEP REQUIRED TO WORK!!! I couldn't get my ASUS BT-400 bluetooth adapter to work with my PS3 controllers until this method! Note that it seemed to be important to run the SPCServer file in the background before doing these steps for it to work. Thanks again!
I get a different error. Followed all the steps. I can see the MAC address. When it's plugged in the controller works. On disconnection i get the reserved message for a little while as well. But once it's connected, it says BTH 000000000 None on the right and the controller doesn't work even though it shows is connected as controller 1.
+Zeehad Usayed Islam That's because your BT dongle doesn't support EDR, which MOST of the cheap chinese 2.0 dongles don't support. Get at least 3.0 to make sure you have EDR.
Hey WT, some help needed. Unblocked Zadig, ran as admin everywhere possible, installed drivers, rebooted, everything worked. Plugged in through USB, showed MAC of built-in BT and the controller, unplugged and BINGO Connected via BT! Next evening: Reserved and stays there no matter what I do. Really frustrated here right now because NOTHING changed from the night before but now it won't get my BT and controller to talk to each other! D:
Whiterabbit124 So annoyed right now.... I know for sure that EVERYTHING worked yesterday and now only god damn USB cable no matter what I try. Reinstalled drivers, via Zadig, reinstalled via SCP Driver. The system sees the controller when plugged in, allows me to do tests and it works in games. However it won't pair up with god damned Bluetooth!! Please help before I destroy any of my valuable equipment :(
This video helped with my bluetooth adapter to pair with my ps3 controller. I got an Insignia Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter with Model: NS-PCY5BMA from Bestbuy. I followed the video up to installing the driver to my adapter. I plugged in my controller and opened SCPServer. I pressed PAIR to connect the adapter to the controller. I left SCPServer running in the background. Then, from that point on, everything happened just as the video shows. It worked like a charm. This adaptor had Broadcom Corporation bluetooth drivers on it, so it didn't work for DS3 Tool or Better DS3 at all. If anyone has a Bluetooth adapter with Broadcom drivers on it, I recommend this.
thanks man this helped! i was going crazy trying to figure out how to connect it to my bluetooth dongle, it felt hopeless, like i needed a degree in quantum computing, then i stumbled upon your little gem of a video :D
Well I've got as far as SCP DS3 Monitor shows my Host Address Mac Address. It shows my Pad 1 Mac Address and when in USB it shows as charging. If I disconnect the controller it still shows Host Address but stays at Reserved and doesn't connect controller via bluetooth. I tried running SCP DS3 Server but in that the Host Address is showing as disconnected. Not sure where to go from here.
+Figureight I stopped the service and run SCP DS3 Server which allowed me to use it. However still same thing applies. Runs fine with USB but when I disconnect the controller it doesn't connect via bluetooth. I noticed the device hardware ID it keeps referencing is different to my bluetooth adaptor, but it still shows full host address, hci version and lmp version figures. Here's how it appears in the log after the device is removed from USB. 2016-01-26 21:02:59.998 ++ Notify [Removal] [{E2824A09-DBAA-4407-85CA-C8E8FF5F6FFA}] [\\?\USB#VID_054C&PID_0268#5&16236C11&0&3#{E2824A09-DBAA-4407-85CA-C8E8FF5F6FFA}] 2016-01-26 21:03:00.013 -- Device Removal [01:38:73:8C:63:25] 2016-01-26 21:03:00.013 -- USB Device : HID_Worker_Thread Exiting 2016-01-26 21:03:02.886 >> HCI_Connection_Request_EV [04] 2016-01-26 21:03:02.902 HCI_Command_Complete_EV [0E] [00] [HCI_Read_Stored_Link_Key] 2016-01-26 21:03:02.933 >> HCI_Command_Status_EV [0F] [00] [HCI_Remote_Name_Request] 2016-01-26 21:03:02.949 >> HCI_Remote_Name_Request_Complete_EV [07] 2016-01-26 21:03:02.964 -- Remote Name : 01:38:73:8C:63:25 - PLAYSTATION(R)3Conteroller-PANHAI 2016-01-26 21:03:02.964 > HCI_Command_Status_EV [0F] [00] [HCI_Reject_Connection_Request] 2016-01-26 21:03:03.058 >> HCI_Connection_Complete_EV [03]
+Figureight Have the same problem. It works with USB and it shows host address fine but when i disconnect the controller it wont connect with bluetooth, just says reserved.
+Figureight Same here, when wired to my pc it works but the LED lights never stop flashing and when I try it via bluetooth the server reads HCI reject connection request 040A and then disconnects my controller. This once worked for me before and now its changed dramatically :/ and I dont wanna switch to motionjoy or have to play wired to my pc cause that could damage its battery :/
+Figureight I solved this problem by opening the SCPServer.exe, then connecting the ps3 controller, then pressing L1+R1+PS Button until the LED on the back turned off. I unplugged my controller and plugged back again, and then as I disconnected it from the USB cable it magically worked. Hope it can be useful
+Edoardo Lascialfari I did as instructed in the video above but had the same issue that after unplugging my ps3 controller there was no bluetooth connection. After following your suggestion it finally worked!! Thanks a lot Edoardo!!!
Mine doesn't work :( I have Asus BT400. I tryied my usb to usb 3.0 and 2.0. I am using windows 8.1 64 bits. I did everything on this video and it still doesn't work. On host addres it says series of numbers like you but those are different.
Thank you very very much, I tried everything to get out of MiJ but it always prevent me to detect my bluetooth dongle so I finally realize that disabling the security policy of automatically installing unknown devices is the solution of escaping from it. Then I repluged my dongle and it worked and identified itself as a bluetooth adapter(Hell Yeah!!) then I tried your solution without MiJ and worked! Finally I have a wireless gamepad for PC, thanks to you! Liked the video and subscribed for sure.
Hi, Wiltshire, I was able to manage bluetooth connection working using your tutorial once, but then, after I plugged my Sixaxis back to charge and then tried to disconnect it from the USB cord, the bluetooth connection didn't work. I tried to reinstall the drivers and stuff, but it didn't help - it just says reserved on both the controller and the bluetooth adapter. Could you help me with this one? EDIT: The regular connection via the USB works fine though.
Host address = Bluetooth adapter. Not the controller. If you aren't using Bluetooth, don't pay attention to the Host address. What adapter are you trying to use for Bluetooth?
it works but it always stops working when i restart my computer. for examply i install it. it works to play the game, and then when i turn my computer off and turn it on again the controllers wont connect until i manually uninstall through device manager and reinstall with zadig. how do i make the custom driver permanent?
you are one of the best tutorial people on youtube in my opinion. every time i had an error there was a link to another video by you with all the drivers and files wrapped in a file with a pretty bow on top by you. thanks man you deserve this favorite, like and new subscriber
THANK YOU very much man it worked!! on my usb dongle. At first the controller appeared on the scpmonitor screen when plugged in but the address on the left and numbers below it were missing, so it didn't work. I tried rebooting and reinstalling the driver to my bluetooth device but turns out I needed to reinstall the scpdriver itself and checked force install (not sure if that's what did the trick) and then they appeared. The controller works perfectly. Now I don't need it plugged in. this is so cool.
I did everything up to the host address thing, it was not there so i restarted my computer, then the monitor doesn't open, the shortcut and the non-shourtcut.. please help EDIT: k, i got it now it was open in the background. but i have another problem, it still says no host address... what do i do now?
_Just you need to run the scp server first then press bluetooth buton on the laptop (for me its fn + F3) and then connect the controller that worked for me but my laptop freezes when controller isconnected for some szeason
ok, i messed up things here badly i made zadig, replace my keyboard driver, now when i plug the keyboard in, my computer thinks its a mouse. i tryed to fix it, and replaced my mouse drivers... now pc thinks the mouse is a keyboard, and vice versa... i know i know... it was dumb... how can i reverse this
+SN!Somos Nerds ok after ALOT, of trouble, i did it... so if someone are having same trouble as i had, check this page, at the end, it will explain how to return everything back to normal! github.com/pbatard/libwdi/wiki/FAQ#Help_Zadig_replaced_the_driver_for_the_wrong_device_How_do_I_restore_it
Just go to device manager and uninstall the keyboard driver then unplug and plug your keyboard back in and it will reinstall the original drivers. You can do this with any device you accidentally overwrite with zadig.
Watching your video, I finally got my PS3 controller to work with my BT400 dongle wireless! I gave a thumbs up and you now have a subscriber! Thank you very much!!!
Had a nuisance installing this the first time on a bootcamped macbook pro retina late 2013 but I got it eventually. With the new 10.10 yosemite update apple apperantly updated their bootcamp drivers, and it wouldn't pair with the DS3. However the first steps of your video loading new bluetooth drivers using zadig worked. Thanks, saved me loads of hasle!
That is because the SCP Service did not start when you tried to install SCP DS3. I've made a follow-up video explaining the solution for this issue: How to Fix ScpService Not Installing on SCP DS3
Hey everyone! I will be at my cottage for 4 days for the Canada Day long weekend. This means that I will not be able to answer your comments during this time. I have no internet up there. I will get to your comments as soon as I get back. Thanks for understanding!
I did everything....scpds3 monitor detected the bluetooth dongle, I get to connect it via USB but when pull it out my controller doesnt connect the bluetooth. What could go wrong?
hey, awesome tutorial, worked like a charm the first time! One question though: my ds3 doesnt connect after a restart of my computer. Do I need to go through these steps everytime, or is there something I'm missing?
I definitely reccomend backing up your drivers completely before doing this, its also a good idea to backup your entire registry too. you can use Glary Utilities which has these functions in it's advanced tab. This way if there is a major issue or if you decide to abort you have fairly perfect fallbacks to get your bluetooth dongle or any other device back to its working order.
You just saved me. I bought an Asus bt400 since it was the only dongle at the shop, hoping it would work since its the same brand as the BT211 you recomended in one of your earlier tutorials. You earned a new sub :D
+Jan “JankoFPS” Brvar Mozgan I actually use the ASUS BT400 now. Due to the BT211 being outdated and not working after Windows 8. I found after updating to 8.1 that the dongle stopped working and had no driver support. Glad I could help you out. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate it!
+Wiltshire Tutorials Need your help once again. I formated my laptop, and now when im trying to reinstall ScP the bluetooth dongle wont work. I did the thing with Zadig once again but it seems something is wrong? I unninstalled all the drivers for the dongle and ran Zadig again but nothing changed. Do you have any ideas?
I know it's been sometime since you've made this video, but I wanna thank you, because it's so so so so much better than Motioninjoy, I wish I saw this video when it came out. Thx again.
HOW TO RESTORE your old Bluetooth DRIVER: Open the "Device-Manager", then go down to "USB-Devices" and right-click on your Bluetooth-Device, select "Update Driver" and choose in the following Window "Search automatically for updated driver software" --> DONE! I hope I could help you!
For those who want to connect a second ps3 controller it's a bit tricky at least for me it was. This is assuming your Bluetooth dongle even supports multi connectivity. Dongle I use is the Asus bt400. Here's what I did: 1) Plug in second ps3 controller via usb. My 1st controller was connected bluetooth at the time. 2) Open SCP Pair tool as admin, when it's done pairing, restart but leave connections as is for now. 3) Test controllers in control panel. Both controllers should be labeled as Xbox Controllers(as per driver) 4) Now disconnect usb from second controller and restart pc again. When the Windows logo screen appears press on both controllers the bluetooth connect/center button and bing!....condom, I mean both connect. Hope this helps...this worked for me...cheers!
Thank you so much! It worked for me. Just bought a random brand bluetooth dongle and when I selected XBOX 360 controller in the list it didn't work, but when I selected DS3 Driver it showed "upgrade" instead of "replace". Then it worked just like you showed.
This worked GREAT! One thing I might add is, make sure your controller isn't pairing with your PS3 in the other room!! I tried this for about 30 minutes before I thought about looking at the ps3, and sure enough it was paired. The controller was working through USB with SCP but every time I tried to unplug it and pair it, nothing.. Just unplugged the ps3 for a minute, plugged the USB back into the controller from the PC, unplugged it and VOILA! Maybe it's just me..lol
Thank you! I installed the latest (pre-release) build of SPCToolkit, and it did not recognize my bluetooth Dongle and therefore never installed this driver. I couldn't figure out why my controllers were no longer synching to my bluetooth, but this made it clear and also provided a solution.
Figured it out for Windows 10. WIndows installs the BT dongle drivers, you have to enable changes in the properties menu and uninstall it first, then you can install the device the same way it's shown in the video.
This was really helpful! I've been months trying to figure out why this worked with the server but after closing it it didn't work anymore. I was able to use my controller wireless like so but it was a pain to have to figure out what I did for it to work. Turns out I just needed to use this instead. And since I have exactly the same bluetooth Qualcomm atheros AR3011 3.0 but with HS adapter, this was such a lucky find. Giving you like and sub bro
A massive thank you Wiltshire Tutorials you saved my life! I updated windows 10 and it deleted the drivers for my USB dongle (and installed a load of bloatware), but this video saved the day :) Many thanks!!!
Wiltshire Tutorials Well I decided to take a chance on a stupidly cheap Bluetooth dongle which turned out to have a Cambridge Audio Radio. I plugged it in, and Windows 8.1 had it working in a second. I then ran Zadig and replaced the driver. Plugged in the PS3 gamepad, disconnected the cable, and in seconds my PS3 gamepad had paired and this time functions fantastic. I think it was because my old Chinese clone Bluetooth dongle did not support EDR. So the new Cambridge Audio dongle will be solely used for my gamepad. And I will keep using the crappy one for normal Bluetooth. Thanks for all your help. It was the best £1.95 I have ever spent :)
irwintorres727 Honestly I am not sure. But you will pretty much know, if after you have connected your PS3 controller and it pairs fine but no buttons or axis appear to work on the pad (game controller properties). It is pretty-much guaranteed not to support EDR. Which is what was happening with my somewhat old Bluetooth dongle. So I went shopping for one and made sure it mentioned Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR. I am thinking of buying another, and retire my old non EDR dongle that I use for normal Bluetooth functions. In fact I didn't even realise that the PS3 controller needed EDR capable Bluetooth. I just guessed it did. I then read on the main site that it needed EDR :). Obviously Bluetooth gamepads (PS3) require a high speed connection to function.
wow that's great to know since I have the same dongle. Did you happen to install the bluetooth drivers from a cd? or was it automaticly downloaded via windows cause i'm still having some issues getting this to work.
The Scp monitor indicates that the host address is not detected. The main difference is Im not see the blutooth in the device manager but the program zadig does notice it.
Uver Santa Cruz That's weird. I remember uninstalling the BT400 drivers (they came on disc) from the device manager, but I might have reinstalled them again to check on the device's name/ID. It *wasn't* listed by Zadig under the appropriate name, that I do remember. It was a fairly long string of digits with a nondescript name, I only saw it was a BT device. I'm almost sure the drivers were in place and I allowed Zadig to overwrite them, which worked fine. Try various ways and take notes, is all I can advise. I'm no good at all with drivers, but someone who is can help you better if you can detail each step. Good luck!
Thank you so much for these videos. I was facing a problem in which my PS3 was turning on whenever I unplugged the DS3 usb cable from my PC. I fixed it by removing the power cord from my PS3 and then the DS3 was properly synced to the dongle.
About the bluetooth adapter, you will not only be able to connect PS3 or PS4 Controllers. You can connect anything from PS3. Like when you connect your PS3 Headset on your PS3, you can do the same in PC with your bluetooth adapter after the installation of the driver.
Still works in 2020 ~ had to redo this step after the September Windows update killed the bluetooth, used with Z390 Taichi Blueetooth so no dongle required. Playing MHWorld on pc with real PS3 controller while kicking back, thanks again~
You are so awesome with the tutorials for this. I cant play Arkham Origins well with KB+M and this tutorial is a godsend for getting this to work. My Asus BT400 wasnt cooperating even though I bought it for this reason alone. Thank you for making this easy to find video.
Ken, your are my savior!!. thanks to this tutorials, now i able to connect back my ps3 controller with Bluetooth dongle. previously seem does not do pairing. Thanks again
Oh my fucking God this is amazing. I've been trying to make this stupid controller work for over a year now, and I finally did it. Thank you so much! :D
Thak you very much! Its works flawlessly until now, best and quicker tutoril i ever find about this subject, i'm just afraid that can be any bluetooth problems in the future, but who needs file transfer when you make the ds3 controller works in pc after years!!! thank u again.
Thanks a lot, been playing around with the thought of buying a new wireless controller for pc (been using ds3 with usb so far).. now the bluetooth dongle was much cheaper :)
Thank you so much my Friend, i have been trying to get this paired for days, for some reason scp was not doing it automatically, and i new my adapter was supported, Great job
Hey dude! I had some trouble with bluetooth on your other vid and then decided that I wanted to use my bluetooth adapter for Wii emulation. Turns out Wii emulation was more of a novelty and I never really played Wii on my desktop anymore so I gave this another go, this time using the method outlined in this vid, and it worked! Thanks for the tutorial, man! I notice there are 2-3 frames of input lag via my USB 4.0 adapter, but that's practically unnoticeable. :D
I was trying to get my adapter work thank you so much for this omg, subbed-liked. Seriously thank you so much. Now i won't have to install a probably malware MiJ
+iko3301 I wouldn't call myself brilliant. I would say I have experience. I'm always glad to help! Glad to hear you got things working too! Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing. I appreciate it!
Started running into a problem after rebooting, the bluetooth driver is working, but when I pull the cable from a controller it doesn't pair, it just disconnects. Any ideas? No worries if not. Cheers mate
Cheers for the tip, I gave it a go and something like it is probably the issue, but it wasn't enough. For anyone running into similar issues, I've managed to find a workaround if your dongle is as bad as mine: - Uninstall SCP's WinUSB drivers (especially the bluetooth one, but the PS3 one needed to be removed sometimes as well). [See SCP's "Manual Driver Removal" page] - Reboot - Run Zadig again to install the bluetooth driver The PS3 controller driver may need to reinstalled by running ScpDriver, as well
I have an integrated Bluetooth chip that I don't want to lock to the DS3. I bought a Kinivo BTD-400 dongle, and when I plug it in it installs the drivers but causes the integrated Bluetooth to stop working, and when I load the SCP drivers to the dongle, a MAC address still won't show up on the monitor. What should I do?
It works, thank you so much, just now need to get the hang of using Xbox Buttons haha :) thank you for all those videos you posted on how to get this working , now i can enjoy games on my big screen and on my couch no cords attached :)
I used the latest SCP toolkit and it all works fine , even the wireless bluetooth connection ( i have a laptop with intergrated BT) but as soon as i restart my pc my host address becomes "error" and it controller only works with cable. Bear in mind my bluetooth is still not available due to being overwritten , What can i do ? Do you think it might be windows update trying to automatically update my BT driver ?
Hey, I have a CSR V4.0 bluetooth dongle and have installed everything and fixed the ScpService issue. Everything works fine when plugged in and a host address comes up in SCP monitor, but when I unplug my controller it doesn't connect
Did you ever figure this out?
hi
its paired but only working with usb when i remove usb it says reserved but doesnt bluetooth pair please help
the host is connected :54:35:30:8A:08:62
but the pad 1 reserved after removing usb
quick answer plz
Guys, when you have it plugged into USB and it says charging. hit the Pair button on the SCPSERVER.. this will lock the PS controller onto the bluetooth dongle you the drivers set to. unplug and wallah
+Donald Mcgee This is exactly what I needed to do. Thanks!
+ChannelJ52 you are welcome
^^^^^^THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED FOR ME. Open ScpServer. Click on the circle next to Pad 1. Hit the Pair button in the bottom. Pull out your USB plug. Wait. VOILA BLUETOOTH BABY.
Thanks my friend.
Np ... took me a minute to figure out too. Noticed noone had put a notice for it so figured I'd give the goods lol
It worked perfectly , you just saved my controller's life . The tutorial is pretty simple.
1:43 to simply know the name . watch the list , remove the dongle and a line will disappear , plug it back to clearly see appearing the name of your dongle (line reappearing ) that you can rename easily ...
I keep coming back to this video over the years. Thanks man, hope life is treating you well.
Glad the video still has some use to people! No need to thank me. I should thank you for coming back multiple times over the years!
######Important Notice#######
For all those getting the "reserved" or "none" message when trying to pair, it's because your dongle is not good enough i.e. 2.0 is too low. I used a 2.0 and i got the "reserved" and "none" however I then got a 4.0 and it worked.
*NOTE my STEPS with 4.0
1) plugged in controller whilst installing driver via zadig
2) opened scp monitor then unplugged controller and saw "reserved" error so i reconnected ps3 controller
3) whilst scp monitor is opened and controller plugged in, i opened scp server then unplugged controller
4) went back to scp monitor and voila! it works!
#######THUMBS UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THIS######
Would this method work if I turned my computer off and on?
***** @ 2.0 works. any generic Bluetooth dongle should work as long as they open up the monitor while controller is plugged in, unplug the controller (so it says reserved) then leave the controller unplugged and press the PS button.
DodgeballChamp93 well i tried 2.0 it didnt work, then i tried 4.0 and it worked. try 2.0 then tell me if it worked

I Found the solution to the bluetooth driver, excuse my bad english.
I have a HP Pavilion 14 with Broadcom 43142 Bluetooth 4.0 driver and Windows 10.
I tried to do the following and it worked:
1) Install the bluetooth driver (bluetooth.cfg) using zading and NOT RESTART THE COMPUTER.

+Diego Chiaradia how did you solved it? Kindly share to us
Is it possible to roll back to the original BT driver after replacing it?
have you find a way to replace the drivers ? i tried uninstalling and upgrading drivers but apparently this doesn't work...
In device manager, at the end of the list under "Universal Serial Bus Devices" you will find your bluetooth device listed there, just uninstall it then from the "Action" menu choose "Scan for hardware changes" and the driver will be installed automatically by windows and you will get your old Bluetooth driver.
i tried this method, but no luck, it keeps installing back DS3 driver after "Scan for hardware changes"

Hi, 10 years later. You are an angel, bless you man
@@lucasarenas1922 glad I could help. Thanks for watching
I get a different error. Followed all the steps. I can see the MAC address. When it's plugged in the controller works. On disconnection i get the reserved message for a little while as well.
But once it's connected, it says BTH 000000000 None on the right and the controller doesn't work even though it shows is connected as controller 1.
I have the same exact problem!
+Wiltshire Tutorials YES SAME PROBLEM WITH ME
+Zeehad Usayed Islam same here!!!!

Please help before I destroy any of my valuable equipment :(
i did everything u said to do but when i check my monitor the host adress stays disconnected can u help me to solve this plse??
same mate no replies
Did you use ScpToolkit before?
Glad to hear you things working! Thanks for watching
Wiltshire Tutorials u saved my life lol
its paired but only working with usb when i remove usb it says reserved but doesnt bluetooth pair please wuick reply thanks.
Same thing here, it does show the host address.... did you find a solution?
Yes I did you have to use the force install to get it to work with bluetooth.
+Figureight I stopped the service and run SCP DS3 Server which allowed me to use it. However still same thing applies. Runs fine with USB but when I disconnect the controller it doesn't connect via bluetooth.
I noticed the device hardware ID it keeps referencing is different to my bluetooth adaptor, but it still shows full host address, hci version and lmp version figures.
Here's how it appears in the log after the device is removed from USB.

+Figureight Have the same problem. It works with USB and it shows host address fine but when i disconnect the controller it wont connect with bluetooth, just says reserved.
+Figureight Same here, when wired to my pc it works but the LED lights never stop flashing and when I try it via bluetooth the server reads
HCI reject connection request 040A and then disconnects my controller.
On host addres it says series of numbers like you but those are different.
dude, i have been trying for YEARS to connect my ps3 control to my PC by bluetooth...you rock, subbed!
Juan Hernandez Glad you got things working. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Liked the video and subscribed for sure.
how did you disable the security policy of automatically installing unknown devices?
Hi, Wiltshire, I was able to manage bluetooth connection working using your tutorial once, but then, after I plugged my Sixaxis back to charge and then tried to disconnect it from the USB cord, the bluetooth connection didn't work. I tried to reinstall the drivers and stuff, but it didn't help - it just says reserved on both the controller and the bluetooth adapter. Could you help me with this one?
EDIT: The regular connection via the USB works fine though.
did you find a fix for this?
if it says reserved, try to restart the service or server (whichever you use)
I have disconnected host address :(
same. i have tried restarting my pc but it still never works
Try the newest scptoolkit. Didn't even need to use zadig anymore
There is an easy way round that but being 2 yrs ago u probably solved it lol
So, what was the easy way around it?

THANK YOU very much man it worked!! on my usb dongle.
At first the controller appeared on the scpmonitor screen when plugged in but the address on the left and numbers below it were missing, so it didn't work. I tried rebooting and reinstalling the driver to my bluetooth device but turns out I needed to reinstall the scpdriver itself and checked force install (not sure if that's what did the trick) and then they appeared.
The controller works perfectly. Now I don't need it plugged in. this is so cool.
SawBlood45 You're welcome. Glad to hear you got Bluetooth to work. Thanks for watching.
I did everything up to the host address thing, it was not there so i restarted my computer, then the monitor doesn't open, the shortcut and the non-shourtcut..

EDIT: k, i got it now it was open in the background. but i have another problem, it still says no host address...

Had a nuisance installing this the first time on a bootcamped macbook pro retina late 2013 but I got it eventually. You can use it wireless via Bluetooth. That is, if you have a Bluetooth dongle/adapter
Hey everyone! I will be at my cottage for 4 days for the Canada Day long weekend. This means that I will not be able to answer your comments during this time. I have no internet up there. I will get to your comments as soon as I get back. Thanks for understanding!
how do i revert my dongle so i can use it normally again?
Dammit, doesn't work with my shitty Esperanza EA101 :/ I've tried everything.

Jose Dorantes What does Host Address say?
Disconnected
Jose Dorantes Are you the Admin on your PC? Are the files blocked in the properties of the .exe file?
Yes I'm the administrator I test it in Windows 7 and 10... No luck reboot 3 times, Uninstall all drivers and do it again 😢😢
Jose Dorantes I have the ASUS BT400 working on Windows 8.1 and 10. Are the files blocked at all?
I definitely reccomend backing up your drivers completely before doing this, its also a good idea to backup your entire registry too. you can use Glary Utilities which has these functions in it's advanced tab. This way if there is a major issue or if you decide to abort you have fairly perfect fallbacks to get your bluetooth dongle or any other device back to its working order.
Definitely a good practice
You just saved me. I bought an Asus bt400 since it was the only dongle at the shop, hoping it would work since its the same brand as the BT211 you recomended in one of your earlier tutorials. You earned a new sub :D
+Jan “JankoFPS” Brvar Mozgan I actually use the ASUS BT400 now. Due to the BT211 being outdated and not working after Windows 8. I found after updating to 8.1 that the dongle stopped working and had no driver support. Glad I could help you out. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I appreciate it!

For those who want to connect a second ps3 controller it's a bit tricky at least for me it was. This is assuming your Bluetooth dongle even supports multi connectivity. Dongle I use is the Asus bt400. Here's what I did:
1) Plug in second ps3 controller via usb. My 1st controller was connected bluetooth at the time.
2) Open SCP Pair tool as admin, when it's done pairing, restart but leave connections as is for now.
3) Test controllers in control panel. Both controllers should be labeled as Xbox Controllers(as per driver)
4) Now disconnect usb from second controller and restart pc again. When the Windows logo screen appears press on both controllers the bluetooth connect/center button and bing!....condom, I mean both connect.
Hope this helps...this worked for me...cheers!
I'm from Brazil, I got the solution to my problem only in its tutorial.
Thanks dude!

That can happen, yes. Glad to hear you got things working
Thank you! I installed the latest (pre-release) build of SPCToolkit, and it did not recognize my bluetooth Dongle and therefore never installed this driver. I couldn't figure out why my controllers were no longer synching to my bluetooth, but this made it clear and also provided a solution.
+CandyCinema You're welcome. Thanks for watching
I also used ScpToolkit before and followed the tutorial, but it still doesn't work. Please help.
I forgot how to install my bluetooth dongle for my ps3 controller. Thanks to this video and it still up, I remember how to install it now. THANKS!

You're welcome. Glad I could help in some way. Thanks for watching
Glad to hear you found a cheap solution. Thanks for watching
how can i tell if my dongle supports EDR?
irwintorres727 Honestly I am not sure.
Thanks this did the trick for a 4.0 bluetooth dongle I had that wouldnt normally work with DS3 tool. Nice to play wireless now.
Thanks, man. Your Tutorials for the PS3 controllers were a big help!
+Guy Person You're welcome. Thanks for watching
This worked perfectly. Someone else mentioned having trouble with the ASUS BT400, which was the one I used.
Resolved, in my case.
Thanks so much!
wow that's great to know since I have the same dongle. Did you happen to install the bluetooth drivers from a cd? or was it automaticly downloaded via windows cause i'm still having some issues getting this to work.
im talking bout the original blutooth drivers that come with the device itself.
The Scp monitor indicates that the host address is not detected. The main difference is Im not see the blutooth in the device manager but the program zadig does notice it.
Uver Santa Cruz
That's weird.
Good luck!
Very very helpful :) I've followed dozens of guides but the bluetooth never worked for me. Zadig did the trick! Thank you.
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching

Thank you so much for these videos. I was facing a problem in which my PS3 was turning on whenever I unplugged the DS3 usb cable from my PC. I fixed it by removing the power cord from my PS3 and then the DS3 was properly synced to the dongle.
Great Tutorial, worked after uninstalling old drivers and starting fresh. Much simpler than MotioninJoy.

Glad to hear things worked for you. Thanks for watching. Also, ya for some reason Windows Update tends to wipe out the drivers from time to time.

Started running into a problem after rebooting, the bluetooth driver is working, but when I pull the cable from a controller it doesn't pair, it just disconnects.
Any ideas? No worries if not. Cheers mate
+Ben Clegg this may be due to Windows' auto driver installation feature. If you disable it, this should clear up the rebooting issue
Cheers for the tip, I gave it a go and something like it is probably the issue, but it wasn't enough.
For anyone running into similar issues, I've managed to find a workaround if your dongle is as bad as mine:
- Uninstall SCP's WinUSB drivers (especially the bluetooth one, but the PS3 one needed to be removed sometimes as well). [See SCP's "Manual Driver Removal" page]
- Reboot
- Run Zadig again to install the bluetooth driver
The PS3 controller driver may need to reinstalled by running ScpDriver, as well
It worked! thankyou for following up with this video
