Ksyusha brutally executed my blunders after exchange sac. I missed 2 moves which could complicate life for black in that game

Why isn't there actually a sound signal on the clock when it's time for either?

Cause it’s player’s responsibility (and no one’s else) to spot it when the opponent flagged only then it’s considered a victory. Sometimes it’s crucial for the results as according to the rules the flag is inferior to a checkmate on the board: I had a situation when I flagged during the game, my opponent didn’t notice and in the next move he blundered checkmate in 1. He never saw the time went out, but even if he had noticed after the mate, the result would’ve been the same - I won. But had he noticed that before he made a move, he would have won. This care is rare but still it happens, especially in blitz

@@GeorgePark-ce8gk Very interesting! Didn't know that. What happens when player 1 flagged and player 2 didn't noticed. But then player 2 flagged also and player 1 noticed it. Did player 1 won then, even his time run out first?
