      Aha, I know. It's like 'a bottle of water' becoming 'a bo' lo wo er.' In Dutch, it rarely happens. But it does happen, see ruclips.net/video/jMO4R8KFZU4/видео.html

      ​@@angenius6469 Not totally true. Often has two pronunciations. With t or without t. Both are correct.

      Yeah you are right MEP, I got mixed up with another word that you never pronounce a letter.

    There's a word "list" that comes up in English literature, such as Shakespeare--in the expression "if thou list", etc.--meaning "if you wish" (if you choose). I don't know if this has the same derivation as "beslissen", but it will help me remember the latter.

      Actually your explanation is correct, check the word "reden" in Middle Dutch.
