      I'm not sure, but in the sense of: Like that project? yes: Zoals dat project?

    When you say "Zoals ik zei,", doesn't following sentence change the order of subject and verb? like "het ok is"? Does "Zoals" act like "maar, en, of, want, dus?"

    • @LearnDutchwithAlain
      @LearnDutchwithAlain  2 года назад +2

      Hi! Zoals will put the verb at the end, but in 'zoals ik zei', there's nothing between ik and zei. If you say 'like I said two minutes ago...' it would be: zoals ik twee minuten geleden zei. With the verb at the end.

      @@LearnDutchwithAlain oh i was asking "het is okay" part from "zoals ik zei, het is okay". I wondered if it is "Het okay is". Sorry for my unclear question and thank you for your comment :) Your video series are so helpful!

    • @LearnDutchwithAlain
      @LearnDutchwithAlain  2 года назад +1

      Well, zoals ik zei is a special case. You can start a new phrase after, because you're quoting something else which could be anything. Normally, you'd use normal word order. Zoals ik zei: ik ben thuis. But you could use it with inversion too: Zoals ik zei, ben ik thuis. With the verb at the end feels a little strange though.

    how to translate IF in Dutch?

    • @LearnDutchwithAlain
      @LearnDutchwithAlain  4 года назад +3

      Hm, I'll have to make a video on IF... Normally, it's als but if it's in an indirect sense, as in whether, you use of: I don't know if he's there: Ik weet niet of hij daar is.

    Is there a video about the use of "heel/al/alle" ?
    My doubt is between Al and Heel in an definitive article (de). For example why in the first sentence we use Al and in the second we use Heel?
    1- "Al de koffie is verkocht"
    2- "Heel de universiteit is geschilderd"
    Thank you so much Alain and so sorry for being anoying..

    • @LearnDutchwithAlain
      @LearnDutchwithAlain  4 года назад

      Hi Ana, thanks for the suggestion, I'll make one and let you know when it's done. However, 'All de' is 'All the' in English and 'Heel de' is 'the whole'. Hope it helps!

    • @LearnDutchwithAlain
      @LearnDutchwithAlain  4 года назад

      Hi Ana, here it is: ruclips.net/video/rFLWYZRkCYc/видео.html It's not public yet but you can see it already. Also: heel is for one item, al is for the plural but in this case, de koffie is uncountable. De hele koffie means the whole 1 coffee, but al de koffie means all coffee.
