Thanks for checking us out! Apparently there is a Forum Built directly for this style supra where everyone just bashes on it. I personally don't mind wrenching on this model, there were a few questionable problems and you would sit back and ask what was Toyota thinking.. but that quickly passes. lol

For others that may be doing this in the future. If you are doing this for performance you most likely will have an aftermarket rail and injectors anyways. My 91 alltrac was in about the same shape as this or worse. Cut off feed line from the pump assembly and used a stepper drill bit to increase the whole size to accept a 90 degree 6an bulk head fitting with a barb on the bottom end. Then just did SS line up to inline fuel filter and then up to rail. Super easy and removes all the other old hard lines or rubber between. My return I just left the stock hard lines and replaced the end rubber. Thanks for the upload

You can use a MKIV Fuel pump in a pinch. Just for the people who can't find a Walbro. Good video!

We didn't "wash" out the tank per say. Freddy put a product called HEAT in the tank when he first bought it to loosen up any loose rust/bad gas and we swished it around within the tank and drained it appropriately.

honestly im not sure, the pumps may be different lengths for different cars but i honestly can no say for sure. your best bet is to try to find one that says its for your car if you can

Nice episode guys. I'd like to say to Imran, it is safe because the only difference between an electric fuel pump and an electric water pump is the fluid being transferred and that water's safe to stand in with out being zapped. That and fuel needs a spark to ignite. Now with that said, I sure hope you boys used shrink tubing on those butt connectors because tharts a potential source for spark in your main fuel source.

doesnt a stock supra power the pump with 9v at idle and 12v at WOT? and a walbro uses 12v at all times, how did you guys remedy this

Pause the video at 8:07 and look at them closely. The screws did not have socket heads on them. They were simply circular. Aside from that, this technique is helpful to know how to do anyway, agreed?

I have a Datsun 81 280zx turbo and I don't quite know which fuel pump I should get for it. Anyone have any advice on it? I also can't seem to find the strainer that goes inside the tank on the pick up line. The car has an external pump.
