    I went and toured this home with my family when I was young. I was too young to appreciate how awesome this property is.

      I hope you can plan to go see it again and take a tour. There are three different tours. I took two in one day. I stayed in a hotel not to far away along the coast Highway. Very pretty area by the ocean.

    I went to these place couple years back before covid when i enter there I felt some kind of strange sensation like the place was built looking to fill some kind happiness to someone that have lost their soul in that time I heard the name of the owner but didn’t really care about it until i week ago i heard the story about a newspaper owner that sold sensationalist news more commonly knows as yellow journalism that had created wars ,and that was william randolp hearts and joshep pulitzer qnd now I finally understood that feeling is his soul inside that castle he cant rest in peace

      He traveled as a child with his mom around the world. He was fascinated with the architecture he saw and wanted others to experience it. So that is why there are so many styles presented in his house. That is what I have learned.

      The inside pool has gold leaf in all the tiles. The Hearst Family gave the estate to California Parks but the family has the right to swim in both pools. I thought to myself, when would they do that, with all the tours going through? Lol!

    Joe Montana has a bad ass Roman style villa up near Napa with like 500 acres. It’s cool how these multi millionaires build these lavish homes in like a European style.

      Yes, it is what made him the happiest. Wanting others to see and experience the architecture of different cultures like he did when he traveled as a boy with his mother to Egypt etc. Certainly his Rosebud.

    It's too eclectic and if there is a predominant architectural look, it's that of a Latin American cathedral.

    • @walkabouttraveler8930
      @walkabouttraveler8930  Месяц назад +1

      You are right. Something my guide shared was that Hearst wanted to bring all kinds of architecture into the house that he had seen on his travels with his mom so that others who could not travel around the world could experience was he had seen.
