- PaverBase by Brock has revolutionized the way people install paver patios and walkways. This product replaces the heavy bag base and cuts down on base prep time significantly. This handy step-by-step DIY instructional video will help you bring your homes vision to life.
Thanks, this is very helpful.
Great job and now I am to going do it as it would be within my budget. Have an issue. I want the paver walkway to be leveled with the side of the garage driveway. Question: how much thickness allowance should be given to these pads as they are compressible to a certain extent. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for posting this instructional. I just purchased some of these panels from Home Depot. Question: When you lay these panels up against a wall, do you trim the flanges? Or can you butt them straight up against the wall without having to trim them? And if you don't have to trim them, what position should the flanges be in (ie flat against the ground with small gap between paver and panel, or off the ground so that there is no gap between the paver and panel, but small gap between panel and sand) Hope you understand my question..
how deep do you have to dig with these? total depth
No audio on this video?
No sound
Do you recommend using a plate Compactor on top of the pavers to help the polymeric sand infiltrate all crevices when using the Brock paver base?
I've seen the weed barrier put directly on top of the ground dirt - before the sand is laid. Which is correct? Before or after the sand?
Before
How would this work installing on a concrete slab?
hopefully you found your answer by now. But go to HomeDepot.com, they have the PDF installation and a video
what size board? 2x4?
Does this replace 6 inches of gravel?
Yes just make the ground flat, optional to use weed fabric, sand and then lay these on top and then your bricks
What's the purpose of the rebar?
Rebar is for guide rails to have an even layer of half inch of sand to lay the panels on . Rebar is removed and sand fills in the gap .
Written instructions say to tamp sand yet the video does not say this?
curious about this as well
@@kustomkreatianz5161 I believe it does, but at the very beginning. I only know because I took copious notes... LOL
Wouldnt these prevent proper drainage, therefore resulting in puddling on the pavers?
The panels have holes every few inches for drainage into the sand beneath
... maybe
I'm about to build my patio and hopeful that the 1/4 to 1/2" slope alleviates the puddling by draining down to the edge...
@@carolynwelsch same. If it's near your house, you want the water running away from the house anyways
Other videos say "ag fabric" (woven) rather than "weed fabric" can hinder drainage. The latter is a bit more porous although not as strong as the former. I've used both and done it the harder way with gravel and sand and no paver pads. Fair warning: any kind of weed barrier NEVER keeps weeds and grass out long-term, even with 4-in layer of gravel and 1-in layer of sand. That's why I'm trying paver pads this time, but the edges are still likely to spout weeds or grass eventually.
Panels are expensive though...
Terrathrax $12.97 per. Last 24 hours of waiting for the perma sand to dry.
Beware this panels does not drain very well. Youll be having puddles
Laying weed fabric is just going to trap moisture underground that will struggle to evaporate through a dense plastic with barely any holes in it. Use Geogrid rolls instead. They give roots something rigid to attach to and same concept braces multiple areas. No. Do not use weed fabric. Terrible idea.
why would you want roots to attach to a fabric that you are laying under your pavers?
So how do you tamp these after sweeping in polymeric sand? Will a plate compactor be too much ?
