The reason to this is because it has a symbolic meaning. It can mean change, death, or rebirth in Japanese culture. For Re:Zero, its pretty obvious why it has butterflies. Subaru dies over and over again. "Rebirthing," over and over again (although thats not I would call it. Its more like changing timelines. Maybe time traveling, but not. I'd go on about this topic cause Re:Zero is my fav. anime, but it'd be a whole essay if I did a breakdown). COTE is more of a anime of change. Im not gonna go too deep about it, but its a lot in the character development. For those who went on in the LN, or watched those breakdown videos on vol 7 and above. You'd know what Im talking about

Another difference is that most of the characters shown in COTE are cunning and not really friendly or allies. But in Re zero the characters shown are allies.

Meanwhile if we compare *Good Echidna* and Ayanokoji, then Good Echidna will show her talent, creativity, make world a better place and give all her knowledge to people. While Ayanokoji would not do this naturally. There's some difference for sure that makes this characters differ, though in my opinion it should be related to Obsession and Love towards People.
