Drakensberg - Africas Dragon Mountains - Go Wild

- A dragon hatched from the volcanic furnaces of Gondwanaland. Ancient almost beyond comprehension, yet a living thing. And vast, stretching across a subcontinent, its spine arching above the clouds...
No lucky dragon, this. Starvation festers beneath the shimmering green of its skin. But to the creatures that live along its flanks, it can be a bountiful provider as well as a remorseless destroyer. Today we call it the Drakensberg, or «Dragon Mountain». «Drakensberg» is a dynamic documentary journey through the life of this ever-astonishing mountain. It is also a story of animal survival in a landscape of overwhelming, pitiless power.
I found these documentaries relaxing, i watch 1 almost every night before a good night sleep.

Having watched a myriad of Wild Nature related documentaries throughout many years, I can, without any hesitation, state that Secrets Of Nature is, by far, my most favorite series.
Everything about these documentaries is excellent: its format, pristine quality, fascinating plot and storyline with its dramatic succession, captivating and enchanting narration, professional techniques and skills of camera men and women, and the rest of the crew with their painstakingly diligent, hard work and determined dedication to achieve an absolutely excellent production make Secrets of Nature a series of documentaries that are in a whole different league; the bars are set higher than before.
I only hope that newer documentaries are to be uploaded soon, because one cannot have just enough of these documentaries.
I am truly looking forward to insatiably watching new stories.
My gratitude to the entire team, who has made this whole journey possible, is indispensably unmatched!
Thank you again!
^^^@John Johnson .. Because of your impeccable comment Sir, I need not read no further, and now to tuck into the documentary at hand Ahhhhh! Ha!!! :P] .v ..

Planet Earth is one amazing place.....We're so lucky to have access to these docus with the click of a button , and not anymore dependent on regular television !
@
Yes regular tv is mostly brainwashing crap. On RUclips we have a great choice of viewing.
@Mihai of Rockville Did I say I was anyone else’s opinion, No so STFU.
This is the crown jewel of the Secrets of Nature series. The sound design and script are great. I listen to nature documentaries while we sleep, and this one is almost ASMR-level relaxing.
I am the king of documentary watching. From a single atom, to the outer reaches of space.
I shall retain small amounts of info from all of them!!!!
*MANIACAL LAUGHTER*
I keep asking myself as I watch the documentary, "How in the world have I missed this magnificent program: The Secret of Nature?" As a person stay of RUclips searching for such documentaries. Anyhow, I am so overjoyed that I have finally found it. Most of all, i van't thank you enough for producing such wonderful natural documentaries,
Thanks Joseph Lee for your comments. The majority of the films you see on our channel have been produced for and/or by ORF (the Austrian public broadcaster). We hope to bring you more films from them and other producers around the world.
Our warmest regards,

+Paul Ebai Home is not where you were born or where you live. It's in your heart, the place that you love and feel free. Stop being negative! Let everyone love Africa, after all, it rly belongs to God not one of us.
Tracy J you really belong in a penal colony...go to Australia where you’ll fit in with the convicts.👍👍👍😂😂😂
Thank you for shearing this amazing video. I enjoy watching and learning abt this part of Africa.
Very educational as well.
i wish someday i can go and visit this very nice and beautiful country.
Good documentary, very impress by your presentation, which takes into account all the elements of this ecological niche. This is well illustrated from the illan atilopes, the chackman baboons, the vultures, the jackals, the plants, the mountain ,the weather, the hydrogaphy, the beetles, the birds and of course man.
I ' m also amazed by the prowess of the vultures, throwing bones from height to crack it open to the swallowing big bones.
The imput of man by his paintings make the documentary, well grounded, I
A beautiful, informative, educational fine film. Nature is so incredible. Thank you.
God's creation is endlessly awe-inspiring. If He knows each sparrow that falls, He certainly gives eland the guidance and wisdom to climb, generation after generation, to find their food.
Hey I sure hope that Santaclaus and The Easter Bunny are watching sparrows fall.

thank you so much for such filming such an incredible documentary !!!! i love it
Thank you so much for such an informative documentary.
The ancient paintings were brilliant.
Thank u for sharing...I watch the videos all the time...I can learn learn enough about these beautiful animals....
In spite of the inherit & profound dangers of living in Africa I can't imagine a more perfect place from which the human species could've derived. What an incredible continent with a monumentally vast range of habitats with which to challenge our species & those of others with the genetics strong enough to continue to survive into future generations.
What a wonderful documentary! Credit to The Secrets of Nature.
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, OUTSTANDING FILMING BETTER THAN NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC BY FAR. J HAVE BEEN WATCHING NATURAL AND NATURE AND WILD ANIMAL DOCUMENTARIES FOR EON. I AM SO GLAD I HAVE FOUND THIS: THE SECRET OF NATURE. THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING DOCUMENTARIES.
I concur and have written a similar praise under another documentary from 'The secrets of nature'. This is one of the rare productions that do not force feed the viewer with some subjective self-interested and affected journalist sensationalism. National Geographic has long fallen from its throne and is forcing viewers to listen to immature american trash talk and highly artificially scripted twelve year old bipolar human centered nonsense. Absolutely unwatchable for the sane of mind.
I love this kind of documentary. Amazing.
A beautiful connection to nature thanks.
Not nature but Africa say africa 1000s times better than china
I remember great clouds of butterflies, thousands of them, when I crossed the Drakensberg

Music is nice, nice documentary says so much of Eland herds life in this environment.
The African songs makes everything relaxing
Background African song was heavenly in addition to the documentary.
What a amazing world. Love it.
A well narrated documentary into this hitherto unknown realm of Africa. A collosus of filming and human endeavor to complete this annual cycle in the lives of creatures reliant on the wall of spears.
Keep up the good works. It is a really lovely documentary and very soothing to the ear.
Obrigada por compartilhar esse vídeo belíssimo, e mostra a luta pela sobrevivência dos lindos animais!👍🏽
Wonderful documentry

Dragensberg incredible views over mountain filming at its best.💂
4:00 I wonder what the actual name of these mountains is.... pre- colonization that is! So incredible to continue using names like Lake Victoria, etc....
Got it : uKhahlamba in Zulu...Maluti Sotho
Eastern face: Quathlamba Zulu “ barrier of pointed spears”. Now that’s better.🥰
Yasmina Shakoor they should rename them withAfrican names, just like China did with the name of the capital bejien ,it was called Peking ,reccorect the wrong done by the colonialists ,what has Victoria name to do in Africa
As a Kenyan I totally agree with you they should be re-named. Back to there originals names. +44

Nature is beautiful and harsh and seeing all these animals surviving in these conditions is amazing!
Hope humans leave this nature untouched for thousands of years so our great great grand kids can enjoy it in real life.

Very Well.. documented ,,,, filmed ...
Love the background music and singing.
I also enjoyed the one about mystical ancient Ethiopia called the " roof of Africa "!!!
Love the (I assume) Zulu music. It is relaxing and downright beautiful. Wish I had a translation of it, as I am an amateur linguist by hobby.

Love all this beauty
Very beautiful.
Nice program.
HALLELUYAH, Greetings from ,Quebec,Canda.
I ❤️ VED THIS SO MUCH.
beautifully created documentary
Watching live from east africa
The male choral group that adds the musical background to this documentary I am about 95% certain is "Ladysmith" from South Africa. They were the group with whom Paul Simon recorded his most excellent "Graceland" collection years ago.
Tacks Sherbo The credit for vocals identifies "Isingizi" but I wonder if the old "Ladysmith" was reorganized---because they sound exactly like my recordings.
and I thought I heard Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints ('91)
Are there no Lions or Leopards on these Alpine grasslands ?
What is the highest elevation on which Lions or African Leopards are found ?
love watching this kind of docs.=)
I guess, once upon time this land full with 🗻mountains were below the 💧 water. I mean the sea bed..
I can strongly feel it.
I can even imagine he Dragons flying around and the giant people living below, what a wonder planet we live on, please do all you can to prevent its man made further destruction.
Thank, animals wise. Good example.
We have taken so much from this Beautiful Planet and Nature has suffered so badly and many Species have gone extinct. On top ofvthis Greed we have polluted almost all parts of the Planet. Its time that each Country pay back to Nature.
Jorah??? Is that you? Still can't believe you beat greyscale...
Educational ang entertaining...
Espetacular Magnific Bravo. .

This is a great video. The singing is great also but I like to see the singers

After watching documentary upon documentary about Africa it is difficult to comprehend why our ancestors migrated so far from our ancestral home.
Africa is so beutiful
I agree it’s got a lot going for it but it doesn’t seem to prevent people smuggling.
WHAT A GREAT, HARD PLACE TO LIVE !!!!
Wow,I didn’t know it snows in Africa.
