Puszta - Land of Salt and Sand - Go Wild

- Less than an hour’s drive south of Hungary’s capital Budapest, Central Europe’s last and only wandering sand dunes surprise the traveller. These dunes are some 600 feet high and in continuous motion, shaping a landscape one would only expect in Africa. Spring storms whip up giant clouds of fine sand that darken the sun and loom over the low Kecskemet plain.
- 10:55 This is one of the coolest stories I've heard. *The fact* that these ants protect the caterpillars. The whole ecosystem working as one. 🦋
- *Bravo!!* Fantastical video 📹 😍!!
I would love to see Europe ! -never wld have thought Europe has sand hills and tumble weeds just like west Texas - Beautiful just beautiful
This video is almost unbelievable, to have such a different place in Hungary. Yes, we have learned that we have this place, but we navel ever know. It's history. One answer here did put it so clearly what has happened so many, many years ago. I am so pleased that I have seen it, and I did tied to post it to friends, hoping they will enjoy as much as I did. Thank you so very much. If there is anything like this coming out again, I would be so happy to see it. God bless all the people who made this video possible. 🙏❤️💙😱😇
There are loads of videos like this in the channel
"With a little courage, the wild can be given back the space to unfold its wonder - like Puszta". What a poetic summing up! Kudos to all those who participated in making this documentary.

Unusually good documentary! Great narration. New territory and landscape. Different animals than usual. Enjoyable.
I absolutely love this channel. Thanks for the journey’s.
A wonderful journey with discovery and knowledge of lands and it's people with excellent film 🎥 and narrators that really make viewing an adventure!
"Their mother has not laid its eggs anywhere near the water, a strategy that seems to work... No predator has found the nest... The little turtles march off in different directions. So, predators can NEVER get ALL of them." What an exquisite pointer in survival lessons in the grand scheme of evolution... These and other documentaries of similar nature help me understand biology in all its interesting facets and varied hues and colours... Thank you so much.
It’s called natural selection bud
Man can prove to be an angel. Here is the proof. He has restored this National Park. And he includes she... Thanks to all who made this possible. Thanks also to those who contributed to making of this documentary.
Opened my eyes about Hungary a lot. Beautiful animals and photography! Thank you.
Hungary is a truly beautiful country and awesome for so much wildlife. Nightingales sing in many areas Geoffrey!
Outstanding photography and narration. Who would have thought a place in Europe could give so much to nature with all creatures therein finding their own place. It was interesting from start to finish. Thank you for what must have been hours and hours of photography to collect, sort and edit to make such a wonderful documentary.
Is marvelous time to watch this documentary and I appreciate the opportunity to meet with you through your tireless efforts to bring this moment to the public domain. thanks very much.
Behind of small geographical and historical inaccuracies, excellent documentary. A huge bow to the floor for the cameraman(s), filming all those impossible angles. A must to see material.
LaurV “ behind of “ ? 😂 talk about inaccuracies , Haha ... sorry , couldn’t help it & Had to say something 😝. It always seems to happen when someone’s correcting something or remarking over something wrong. They’ll misspell something or have some
Kind of error / inaccuracy with proper word choice or within their sentence structure. ( improper / being absent of punctuation ,etc ).
What inaccuracies are you referring to ? ( also , I’m just lightheartedly joking in pointing out the errors in your comment. No hard feelings! 😁 )
Nice Music and best documentary in my list ......feels so cool and calm ........thanks

Watched entire episode without a blink, thank you for protecting such a thriving piece of land that houses so many species. Although I have watched countless nature documentaries, it's the first time I have seen that curved beak bird and it's fascinating, also makes me wonder how much less of species I have seen.
Excellent wildlife documentary. Thank you for sharing it with us.

It is beautiful, I never know that this exist middle of Hungary, next time we will visit, thank you
Most beautiful place,nature,people!
Beautiful documentary! It's funny that people called that turtle 🐢 a fish 🐟 🤣 😂! How did the figure that!?!
The same reason they called an octopus a "devilfish" or referred other creatures with names like starfish, jellyfish, crayfish etc.
To make it acceptable during Lent... The Catholic Church also did this with the the capybara - clearly a rodent; in South America.
wonderful video, thank you for sharing

+The Secrets of Nature Can You Hear Me ?
The Secrets of Nature Can You Make a Video About Irans Wildlife,Please.
"I realized that nature is very peaceful. She only disturbs those who disturb themselves, but she teaches wisdom to those who admire and appreciate her beauty." ~ Sri Rama, Living With The Masters In The Himalayas.
Clearly Sri Rama never actually experienced any real nature, cause every bit of this looks like a death struggle to me.
And I know this comments a year old, but I'm just that petty.
A beautiful doc. Thank you.
Nice video I'm from Bangladesh,,,
I really love this kind of films
A very nice,, and good,, happy place
It took a lot of time and patient to film and document this video. I'ved just finish watching this today at 6:10 pm 04-18-2020! It's a great video love it!!!!!
Wonderful keep beautiful nature
God's creation is great.
Don’t you mean mans creation of god was a great and genius act by the rulers in that time
i like these episodes and series. hat off also to the camera team. amazing animals these wolves. they hunt together, silent and cunning and most effective. but over that wild boar, where there was plenty meat for everyone, they were fighting tooth and nail... what a waste of energy.
Thank you for sharing the biodiversity 🙏🏿🌳🦚
Muy bonito documental
excellent camera work. hire that guy more often.
ppffhahahaha
@Veonnj Caines Its so funny, lame camera work actually!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent work!
"June 29th...I played a recording of its own call"...the commentary informed us..... that is exactly what I did with a Barred Owl in NW Florida 4 years ago. The recording attracted about 8 or 10 owls close to me...but one swooped in, under my back deck roof, where I was sitting & hit me in the head with its talons. It split my head open & I haven't played another "song" of a bird again, through my computer whilst sat outside. That one episode & all of the blood involved, was enough to tell me that it wasn't a good idea. At the time, I thought it was great, as I could hear the owls getting closer & in trees around me....but you live & learn. Some lessons are what you weren't expecting....
i love this channel but please upload all documentaries in HD.
Good documentary of nature life thank
Very good dokument. :)
Excellent!
Most Fantastic.
Interesting video and thank you
He calls them Mediterranean gulls at 25:10 but they're actually black headed gulls. Rookie mistake.
- A lot of times they probably don't spend too much time writing the script as they do filming. Kids watch these videos for educational purposes as well, so they *should* be accurate. I've found many nature documentaries that had misinformation.
great vid!
Really very nice job thank you
bird: ay fam get over here
bird fam: whachu got?

Amzing video beutty full
"Puszta" wasn't always like this. This sandy landscape is largely due to deforestation and river controll/channeling. The Hungarian Great Plains were once a semy woody-grassy and even dampish/marsh habitat, not an asian like steppe. But in the 15th-17th centuries, during the ottoman times huge deforestation happened. Both turks and magyars chopped down huge amounts of trees to create wood-ash. Wood ash mixed with thin manure then was used to create saltpetre, which was used to create black powder. Note that this method was used until large scale nitric acid industry arrived in the late 19th century. Both christian and ottoman armys needed a huge amount of black powder for their armys, especially during long campaigns and sieges. Then, in the 19th century in Hungary, a large scale river controll started. Leaders of the country decided to regulate the Tisza river, which often flooded over humongous areas. Late consequences are the gradual desiccation and even desertification of the Kiskunsag and other parts of the "Alföld" (Great Hungarian Plains). This process is further escalated by global warming.
great info, thanks a lot!
Do you know where i could find more information about afforestation of Alföld? I spent two months around Bugac area and saw mainly black locust and poplar plantations. Im interested why did they decide to plant those species, what makes them more suitable than other species.
Good doc
"global warming" lol
Ziga locust & poplar varieties grow very fast
One of Gods amazing creation
