I’ve been looking for how to animate spheres and there is nothing on RUclips yet! You are the first one to do this and make it so easy! Thank you sooo much! ❤️ 💕
Andy! You are brilliant.❤ This is so cool and going to be fun to make. This knowledge you shared can be used in other animations too. You’re the best! ❤
So, you have the big circle of the earth (land and water).. this is on top of the small base layer. You will then make the big circle track a clipping mask on the smaller base track. That means, any of the big circle you’ll see will be only on the small base track. I hope this makes sense! So sorry if it doesn’t. 😅
When you make a surface layer a clipping mask, it clips to the shape of the base layer below it. For example, if your base layer is a rectangle, anything on the surface layer will only show up within that rectangle. In this video, it’s a circle. Think of it like putting a photo into a picture frame-the frame (base layer) controls what you see. Hope this helps!
Great tutorial. Even though it looks easy I probably have to watch it at least 10 times to do it. Thx a lot for the effort.
My pleasure! Have fun!

This is very helpful, how would you animate a head? The same way, is there any other option for such 2d animation?
Thanks so much! I probably would use the frame by frame tool to animate a head. 😊
When the surface layer becomes clipping mask, how does it become wrapped around the base?
