Very few people taking responsibility for their riding days, they dont even carry a handsaw. Here in the rio grande national forest a group of 4 "teenagers " called for a rescue when they ran into an area of deadfall, no saw , no skills , no experience, just a cell phone. I was grinding my teeth for a few days over that cause i dont think any lessons were learned other than have a charged phone battery. The workers will always be a small minority with sore backs. Cheers.
I have an echo cs 361? 16” bar. Worked good for three seasons of heavy use. Way more fun to ride with a small saw. However, when one bucks as much as I do. The power of a bigger saw is way better.
MS 261 carburetor version. Not filling the fuel tank helps a little. Still hard to start following fill up. Just not stupid hard. 50-100 pulls is ridiculous. By leaving a 1/4 gap or so, it will start in 20-25 pulls.
I have a 261 also, mine has the m tronic carburetor though, when i first bought mine i had a similar issue and it was the little summer/winter window next to the air cleaner was set to winter operation causing heat from the engine to overheat the carb and boil the fuel. Since i changed that its been flawless over probably a hundred hours of use, my favorite chainsaw i’ve had. Hopefully you can get yours figured out, all the ones i’ve been around have been really awesome saws. Thats a bummer they can’t make yours work for you. That would be frustrating
Thank you for all your work to get that section open.
Man .. got to love those dead lodge pile stands…
great work as usual. We are headed to ride out of baumgartner to at the end of the month
I remember when the downieville walt would only cut thos log to about 18 inches wide

I agree that stihl saws suck. Was gonna get the echo. Curious if you heard and reviews on those. Supposed to be extremely light
