At the 17.45 mark you're on point regarding hard-packed dirt roads with loose gravel, and the need (regardless of tread) to be a bit extra mindful. I was recently in NW Arkansas' Boston Mountains near the White River (aka, the Ozarks, and they're breathtaking!!!) on my GS850 Adventure negotiating a short, blind right hander. Right at the apex it dropped in elevation AND (ugh) to a fairly strong off-camber. Was only doing 25 max, and it was an instant wash, ha. The protection bars did an awesome job! Totally surprised there wasn't a scratch on the bike, save the protection bar, and the right hand guard. Fun & rich times & memories. My Navy buddy was with me (I'm a Marine) and comes up behind me, stops, and is scrambling around... I ask him through our mics... what the heck are you doing? He goes: trying to grab my phone for a photo op. Jerk, LOL. Semper Fi
I found your youtube channel by accident. Please make more motorcycle trips, i wish you good health. Greetings from Poland. You inspired me to ride a motorcycle ! Thanks !
Good day to you! I am a HONDA Cross Cub senior rider from Japan. Enjoying camping and touring. This is so nice adventure video! Awesome! I leave Have a nice day my friend!
Escaping the city, finding a nice camping spot, enjoying a beverage and meal out in the woods and some good back roads. Just don't get much better! Fantastic video man!! Thanks for sharing!
Great video...just now getting back into adventure bike riding after several decades and a stroke recovery. It is the adventures we make out of life , that makes life memorable and gives us meaning.
Lassen has always been one of my favorite parks to ride a motorcycle in. Until I found your video, I had no clue there was a Backcountry route through the national forest. This route is getting added to my to do list!!!! Thanks for sharing this and helping me find out about this route!
Yes, I would like directions on how that dried chili was made... also 'd' = double IPA. You didn't film having that Torpedo. If you are used to Coors that would have been a shock. That stuff is SOOOO hoppy it gives me a belly ache. 😣 Great vid - watched first 2 IDBDR's - are more out?
Black Rock! You're in the heart of Ishi country! Look it up? Tons of California history in that area! A lot of the area you rode through is now burnt from the Park Fire unfortunately. Cheers! Enjoyed your video! P.S. "D" stands for Double. Double IPA. You're also in Sierra Nevada country!
I am a huge fan of Sierra Nevada brewery. Shame that area burned up. Glad I got to ride through there before that. Hopefully the video will serve as a reminder of what it used to look like for others that go on trips through there. Thanks for watching!
Great ride. I visited the Park in mid July 2023, on my 3mths touring trip. Not so crowded but pity many side roads and camps were still closed then. Skål from Sweden. 🍻
I just got back from a night of moto camping in plumas county. On Mt. Hough, from which, one can see lassen. Watching your video because I already wish I was out there again.
Great video. Loved it. I love your chill. Yes, I would like to learn more about making your own freeze-dried foods. Also, I am interested in how you deal with hygiene in a location like that after all day riding.
Next time try Echo Lake. It’s just near by Lake Almanor. It’s very primitive, but has 6 or 7 campsites. The lake is about the size of an inside baseball diamond. Have caught a few trout. It’s bumped up right against Lassen Park.
Hey there, new fan out from Israel. got a 2018 1290R, love the video, watched it all from start to finish! Amazing views and looks like a killer ride. Makes me wanna go camping solo out here in the desert. Awesome!
Hi Yonathan, it is my dream to do a large trip from the Netherlands to Israel. Staying there for 2 weeks and exploring your country. This year i only have 10 weeks free time. Not enough. It could be done but then i would not have the relaxing fun i need to have. And the safety also is a bit of my concern i think. Getting to Israel has its riscs. What do you think about riding solo for two weeks in Israel ? Would you recommend that or is your advice to not do that ? Greetings from the Netherlands,
Great Video brother. God bless...❤ From Cenrral Europe.... I do this as much as I can. Wing Man of the Road Tent....is my tip....40 trips or more I will never use anouther motorcycle tent....look them up....❤❤
Enjoyed your video, I have been on a few roads on your route, I am pretty new to the area and live in Chico , ride 2022 BMW R1250 gs. Looking to meet people for riding BDT,BDR for dirt and camping. Let me know if interested again well done on the video and route.
Never had any luck with my beer. They always exploded while bumping around. Nice vid you made. Last year sold my 1190R. Been traveling with it for more 150000 km'ters. It became to heavy for me to lift it up after twice or three times crashing in a short time. But i miss 'em dearly. Now i own a Husq 901. Not even done 600 km'ters in 4 months. But it is winter in the Netherlands and all the roads are full of salt. Maybe somewhere around March again. But i do not complain. Have to do some changes on the bike. Make it ready for 12 weeks Turkey and Iran. Not 100 percent sure about Iran. When it is not possible i will be heading into Armenia. Also beautifull nature with a lot of old churches that are ruins now. You have a nice softbag setup. Put already the luggageracks on mine for the H&B Explorer cases i had laying around over 5 years. The 1190 came with Touratech cases. Awfull stuf btw. Still not decided what to do. The alu cases or going for the Kriega OS system. But probably i will be ordering those Kriega's. What brand are those bags you have ? It looks like a very sturdy tankbag. With enough space. The tankbag is still something i have not worked out. Not so many options for the Norden 901 because of the shape. But i need a spacy tankbag. For me that always has been a must when going on a 10000 km trip or more. Btw, on the left side of my bike at the inside of the pannierrack i created a mountingplace for a one gallon Ortlieb cannister. Had two laying around for 20 years. That spare fuell saved my ass so many times. I really could recommend you to do somethink like that. One gallon can save you a walk of 50 km'ters. And you do not have it filled up all the time. Back home i put some special 4T gasoline in it. That is for the lawnmower. Cause that gasoline never goes bad. And i also use that for the gasoline burner when the bottle gets empty. That fuell burns with less toxic stuff. I really envy your beautifull bike. I miss the brute power of it but i had to go a step down in favor for some weightloss. Want to go into terrain where the weight of such a machine can be the difference between getting badly hurt or just able to make it. I only had two choices. The 890R or the Norden 901. And the Norden for me almost ticked all the right boxes. The low center of gravity is heaven. When i think about it i can not hardly wait to get out and bring the hammock along. I will be spending 2 weeks in the backcountry of Turkey. Starting 3 May. While hoping for low temps once i get there. Thanks for your video. I hope you will make many more and also stay safe when being outthere. 👍👍💪💪 Greetings from the Netherlands,

Thanks for sharing! Really enjoy your commentary and all the beautiful footage. You do a great job! I love doing these types of trips too. Usually bring a fly rod along and hit a few trout streams at the same time. Motorcycles, fly fishing and camping are the holy trinity for me! Cheers, from Edmonton, Alberta!

I just installed my M Moto Woodland 35L today, with 4 pockets. I have a top box and also the 40L duffle. Im thinking about the tank bag like you'rs...but not sure it holds that much but the bigger issue, not sure about the straps aspect to that tank bag. Hmm. I need a moto camping tent and know others that have that Mamut tent like yours. I'm using GoPros but mostly now the Insta360 X3. So easy, so much coverage and way way more dependable ..way easier to edit and make videos...like night and day compared to GoPros. A drone down the road would be cool too! Do you use a Power Distribution Unit/module on your bike? I got the Thunderbox and installing soon. Great vids. Thx
Great Video. I live just out of Sacramento and would like to do this run. Do you consider this an entry level or beginer trail for someone with a lightweight ADV bike?
@Epic Adventures Offroad Hey dude, what front fender and high crash bars are you using? I Have the Tusk high front fender kit and im looking to buy upper crash bars that wont interfere with the high front fender.
You moved out of the Bay Area? Can’t blame you. I’ll watch your Truck excursions but I’m in it for the Adventure Bike vids as that’s what I just started doing.
We did, tired of the nonsense out there. Glad you’re enjoying the motocamping content. I’ll be getting a lot more of that content throughout the summer months, then when it gets cold again, I’ll probably start doing more truck camping. We’ll see how it all works out. Thanks again for watching!
which brand is that camp chair and how do you like it? Ive got an orange and Black road glide and im putting together a camp gear list. why not color match gear in the process if its decent right?? LOL
Man its been a while since I bought that chair. It wasn't anything special though, I think I bought it from Amazon if I remember correctly. Probably didn't cost me more than $30 either and still going strong.
I’m using the Air D2s. It’s honestly worked out really good for motocamping. Super compact, and awesome range. Thanks for watching! And thanks for the feedback on the adventure meals.
Is that an antenna on the right side of the handlebars? how many go-pro batteries do you carry, and is it possible to recharge them while you're out there? Beautiful area to explore.
It’s a Insta360 Camera. Unfortunately due to a faulty SD card reader, I lost all of the footage from that camera. Huge bummer, but the trip still worked out ok with just the go pro and my Sony. I have 6 batteries that I keep in rotation for my trips. I have a 4 bank charger in the tank bag that I rotate batteries in/out of to keep them all charged. Works pretty good, but I still have issues with not knowing when the battery has died on the camera. I need a better system for that. Thanks for watching!
You have a Great Mother In Law!! I would definitely like to see more videos preparing those meals! Thank you for a great video!😊

Cool video I tried to go to the park in late May and early June on my trip fm Florida park was closed to remove fire aftermath.
Yeah the fire was pretty extensive in the park. That’s a long way from Florida, sounds like a fun trip! Thanks for watching
Nice camping site in the middle of the forest, how do you prepare in the event you run in to a mountain lion or a bear?
I always have a form of self defense on me. But in all honesty, those animals don't want anything to do with humans 99% of the time so I'm not too worried about it.

Cant recall off the top of my head, but Mosko runs a lot of different stickers, I'm sure I got it from them when I did one of their meetups.

which brand is that camp chair and how do you like it? Ive got an orange and Black road glide and im putting together a camp gear list. why not color match gear in the process if its decent right?? LOL
Man its been a while since I bought that chair. It wasn't anything special though, I think I bought it from Amazon if I remember correctly. Probably didn't cost me more than $30 either and still going strong.
Wow, I m in India, I like your video, the reason is , your r not eat non veg in camping.
Beautyfull
Let's see preparing a dehydrated meal video
"It takes a lot of work to get it in there. That's what she said" 36:01 🤣🤣 ...Giggidy.
Glad someone appreciates my childish humor! 😂 thanks for watching!
What drone do you use? I really need to get something small I can pack in my 1290
Also I’d be interested in the adventure meal prep video. Sounds pretty neat
I’m using the Air D2s. It’s honestly worked out really good for motocamping. Super compact, and awesome range. Thanks for watching! And thanks for the feedback on the adventure meals.
Yeah I agree. I want to know how to make some dehydrated chili!
Beautiful country riding. Makes me wanna live out west. Florida is too flat and not very scenic in my opinion.
Yeah, Florida is pretty awesome for some things. Mountains and offroad trails aren't those things though, lol. Thanks for watching!
Is that an antenna on the right side of the handlebars?
how many go-pro batteries do you carry, and is it possible to recharge them while you're out there?
Beautiful area to explore.
Looks ok Ike a camera of some sort on the right side
It’s a Insta360 Camera. Unfortunately due to a faulty SD card reader, I lost all of the footage from that camera. Huge bummer, but the trip still worked out ok with just the go pro and my Sony. I have 6 batteries that I keep in rotation for my trips. I have a 4 bank charger in the tank bag that I rotate batteries in/out of to keep them all charged. Works pretty good, but I still have issues with not knowing when the battery has died on the camera. I need a better system for that. Thanks for watching!
